The reason that you don’t gain weight is your rule of “2 bites.” If anyone is really paying attention, you are only taking 2 bites of the foods you’re reviewing. Even when you’re doing mukbangs, you don’t finish it all and you stay active all day while adding intentional exercise everyday. No magic. Just common sense. Great videos ❤

As someone who has lost 60lbs I can see why you are able to maintain your weight - I have had to do this as well. Yes you indulge but your portion sizes are not insane + you eat until you are full and not in excess. Also, as someone who does power yoga + cardio 4-6 days a week - having movement really helps remove salt + mobility in your body overtime. At 37, I definitely have gained weight as I have aged because my metabolism has slowed down - and like you said the scale doesn't dictate your health. I am 5 foot 1 and 150lbs, healthy and happy. Ngl, I work out 30 mins / 5 days a week and I am still scared to even eat a cookie for dessert (not every day, just like 1-2 a week). I get what she’s trying to say but that’s a scary thing to say. Every body is different but being over weight and obese is not healthy. Coming from someone who’s trying to get to a healthy weight.
'any weight' is a slight exaggeration but the idea is that until obesity even overweight bodies tend to not have major health issues. basically, even if you are fat but your systems, joints, etc work fine then you aren't unhealthy per se. Same way as how you can technically still be healthy at the underweight BMI of 17.
Came to say this, it's nice to see it so high up. l wish people would stop saying that bullshit, it pisses me off. No, you cannot be healthy and obese at the same time, and it's so irresopnsibe to say stuff like that.

I LOVE food, but after having my blood work done and learning, I'm already pre-diabetic with high cholesterol levels even though I work out and have a healthy weight....I could never, no matter how much I work out. I'll just live vicariously through your videos and wonder how food content creators avoid the same problems I ran into.
it would be interesting to see her bloodwork, too what's your age? I suspect even the folks who (seemingly) can get away with junk food in their 20s like karissa would discover they can't keep at it else the metabolism crashes into the 30s - 40s - and beyond.

“you can be healthy at ANY weight, the scale is just a number” incorrect sis. yes, we should love our bodies, but at my heaviest as an obese person, my knees were in PAIN going up 3 flights of stairs at age 27! i was NOT healthy and had to make drastic changes so i didn’t end up a diabetic like many of my obese family members. we need to be realistic, being underweight or dangerously overweight/obese def has its health complications! we have to love ourselves enough to want a better life, not one where you’re in pain or feeling uncomfortable in your own body.
Basically she meant that at the weight your body is comfortable at. My bff is slightly chubby but not at all unhealthily overweight. She eats less than me yet remains chubbier, and that’s okay! She eats the amount that she’s comfortable with and exercises too. I’m skinnier and eat as much as my body wants to and I keep active whenever possible. Being slightly over or under weight is okay but severely (on either side) isn’t good.
Weight does not equal body fat percentage is what she's saying. You can weigh more and have a low body fat percentage. Or weigh more and your knees work just fine, your doc says your health stats are fine, but your scale says you're "overweight". What you're saying doesn't go against what she said at all
@@Andrew54123 My friend for example looks chubby but definitely isn’t. Like she’s about 4/5kg heavier than average for her height. Not unhealthy by any means and even though she works out and eats healthily, she isn’t super skinny. My point is that every body is different (obviously when it affects your health or when you don’t take care of your body by exercising and eating well then it’s not natural cause) and that a few kg difference isn’t going to harm you. Noticeably higher body fat than what you’re supposed to be is clearly a health risk but a lil difference in every body is normal ♥️

In some of the videos, you get to see Karissa's parents, so you'll understand her genetics. Karissa is also in her early twenties, when the metabolism is on fire. And as a New Yorkers she also walks a lot, which helps. Because let's face it, her short work outs and at times high carb and high fat die would make people like me fat, even with the ''portion control'' she practices. Watching this stunning woman eat makes me live vicariously through her. I don't enjoy her fast food videos though, bc that food is just gross. I enjoy her real food videos, and sometimes I 'll get so inspired that I will try these and enjoy them just as much as her.
100%. I do think it is down to genetics and/or illnesses someone might have.. I am 25 (so her age) and have PCOS so if I ate like this I wouldn't be her weight BY FAR to put it lightly. I think some people just have better metabolisms genetically... sighs... at least we can consume food via her videos haha
To look even remotely close to this I have cut out alcohol, run at least 5 miles…4x a week, intermittent fast and eat around 1500 cal per day. Love the videos and glad her regimen works for her, we can’t all be so lucky haha
Also she probably listen to her body when it tells her shes full she will stop eating. That being said she did gain a bit of weight in the past few years from eating like that. She's still at a healthy weight but it might catch up to her if she keeps it up.
the reason i really like Karissa is, you can tell she really is a food lover, her tip and tricks / combos, actually are good, and she has a lot of knowledge in the cultures.... i was shocked by how accurate she is
lets not get used to the "healthy at every size" rhetoric. it can be very harmful for people to believe that being very overweight or underweight is healthy. encouraging this is, in my opinion, detrimental to someone's health. (and no, im not saying that being "normal size" automatically means youre healthy, but it does help). Apart from this detail, love your content!
as a autistic person with a very severe eating disorder and texture problem, you really help me to make my relationship with food a little better, everytime i watch one of your videos, i have a bite of something, that really helps me, thank you!
this is how she doesn't get obese= in every food she tries she takes 1 to 3 bites max, the rest her bf probably eats. when she eats a normal meal she can eat a reasonable portion because she wasn't eating all that food during the day. her "muck bangs" are all she eats for the day and even there she doesn't eat the whole portion. Anyone can make videos like this, if you can afford all that food. but I've watched enough of her videos to see the 1-3 bite pattern. She probably averages about 2000-2200 calories a day which is reasonable to maintain her weight.
I really appreciate how Karissa describes all the foods! I really enjoy all of the different foods she eats and she eats nicely! I've gone to a lot of different restaurants and tried different delicious foods! I really can't handle the chili oil or hot sauces, bit I tried 😅. Thank you Karisa! Your puppy is too adorable ❤!

She still has to have an incredible metabolism because I couldn’t eat a quarter of what she eats that we see what she eat and not get enormous. Maybe it’s my metabolism? Even with her working out a half hour or however, long a day it would not work for me. Having said that she is the most delightful, cheerful girl I have ever seen in my life! Rather than questioning how one doesn't gain weight or what ones metabolism must be like, I am more curious to know what your general health you don't see is like. I am always so curious how food vloggers maintain their cholesterol levels, what are your triglycerides levels looking like with all that junk? Sure, maintaining a healthy weight most certainly helps, but what about your heart health and gut health? Y'all are very brave to do this to your bodies for monetary reasons, it all adds up and catches up eventually. I'm not saying I am the healthiest person in the world by any means, I am just simply curious what the real health wellness looks like overall for anyone who eats food in this amount or eats junk/greasy/spicy food on a regular basis. This video didn't really support any valid health concerns. Glad you do keep up with workouts, definitely helps,just don't ignore the inner health that is unseen. It can definitely lead to silent killer problems.

Those are some positive words, but these types of foods are so unhealthy that will cause health issues later in life. (Not just referring to weight gain) People can look healthy on the outside but the body can be fighting a hard battle on the inside. Take care of yourselves people and don’t just mindly follow other people’s choices.

Unless you have a medical anomaly keeping you from losing weight (extremely rare), I agree. Im very overweight, but it’s because I overeat the wrong foods and don’t move around enough. If I were truly healthy and my diet reflected that with healthy foods there is no way I could be the weight I am currently. It like wouldn’t happen. It's not. The scale only shows weight and not your body composition. You can be clinically obese even at a healthy weight. The scale also doesn't show fat distribution which is the biggest indicator of health. The scale also can't show how much visceral fat you carry (the eye can't even see that, all we can see is subcutaneous fat which doesn't have much negative side effects) which is the biggest indicator of bad health. It's visceral fat that increases your chance in developing diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and even some types of cancers. And men are more prone to storing visceral fat. While women are more likely to develop subcutaneous fat. This tendency to store visceral fat means that men are actually more prone to fat-related illnesses and conditions, like heart disease and diabetes.

I get what she’s trying to say but that’s a scary thing to say. Every body is different but being over weight and obese is not healthy. Coming from someone who’s trying to get to a healthy weight.

'any weight' is a slight exaggeration but the idea is that until obesity even overweight bodies tend to not have major health issues. basically, even if you are fat but your systems, joints, etc work fine then you aren't unhealthy per se. Same way as how you can technically still be healthy at the underweight BMI of 17.
Came to say this, it's nice to see it so high up. l wish people would stop saying that bullshit, it pisses me off. No, you cannot be healthy and obese at the same time, and it's so irresopnsibe to say stuff like that.

I LOVE food, but after having my blood work done and learning, I'm already pre-diabetic with high cholesterol levels even though I work out and have a healthy weight....I could never, no matter how much I work out. I'll just live vicariously through your videos and wonder how food content creators avoid the same problems I ran into.

“you can be healthy at ANY weight, the scale is just a number” incorrect sis. yes, we should love our bodies, but at my heaviest as an obese person, my knees were in PAIN going up 3 flights of stairs at age 27! i was NOT healthy and had to make drastic changes so i didn’t end up a diabetic like many of my obese family members. we need to be realistic, being underweight or dangerously overweight/obese def has its health complications! we have to love ourselves enough to want a better life, not one where you’re in pain or feeling uncomfortable in your own body.
Basically she meant that at the weight your body is comfortable at. My bff is slightly chubby but not at all unhealthily overweight. She eats less than me yet remains chubbier, and that’s okay! She eats the amount that she’s comfortable with and exercises too. I’m skinnier and eat as much as my body wants to and I keep active whenever possible. Being slightly over or under weight is okay but severely (on either side) isn’t good.
Weight does not equal body fat percentage is what she's saying. You can weigh more and have a low body fat percentage. Or weigh more and your knees work just fine, your doc says your health stats are fine, but your scale says you're "overweight". What you're saying doesn't go against what she said at all
@@Andrew54123 My friend for example looks chubby but definitely isn’t. Like she’s about 4/5kg heavier than average for her height. Not unhealthy by any means and even though she works out and eats healthily, she isn’t super skinny. My point is that every body is different (obviously when it affects your health or when you don’t take care of your body by exercising and eating well then it’s not natural cause) and that a few kg difference isn’t going to harm you. Noticeably higher body fat than what you’re supposed to be is clearly a health risk but a lil difference in every body is normal ♥️

In some of the videos, you get to see Karissa's parents, so you'll understand her genetics. Karissa is also in her early twenties, when the metabolism is on fire. And as a New Yorkers she also walks a lot, which helps. Because let's face it, her short work outs and at times high carb and high fat die would make people like me fat, even with the ''portion control'' she practices. Watching this stunning woman eat makes me live vicariously through her. I don't enjoy her fast food videos though, bc that food is just gross. I enjoy her real food videos, and sometimes I 'll get so inspired that I will try these and enjoy them just as much as her.
100%. I do think it is down to genetics and/or illnesses someone might have.. I am 25 (so her age) and have PCOS so if I ate like this I wouldn't be her weight BY FAR to put it lightly. I think some people just have better metabolisms genetically... sighs... at least we can consume food via her videos haha
To look even remotely close to this I have cut out alcohol, run at least 5 miles…4x a week, intermittent fast and eat around 1500 cal per day. Love the videos and glad her regimen works for her, we can’t all be so lucky haha
Also she probably listen to her body when it tells her shes full she will stop eating. That being said she did gain a bit of weight in the past few years from eating like that. She's still at a healthy weight but it might catch up to her if she keeps it up.

the reason i really like Karissa is, you can tell she really is a food lover, her tip and tricks / combos, actually are good, and she has a lot of knowledge in the cultures.... i was shocked by how accurate she is
lets not get used to the "healthy at every size" rhetoric. it can be very harmful for people to believe that being very overweight or underweight is healthy. encouraging this is, in my opinion, detrimental to someone's health. (and no, im not saying that being "normal size" automatically means youre healthy, but it does help). Apart from this detail, love your content!
as a autistic person with a very severe eating disorder and texture problem, you really help me to make my relationship with food a little better, everytime i watch one of your videos, i have a bite of something, that really helps me, thank you!
this is how she doesn't get obese= in every food she tries she takes 1 to 3 bites max, the rest her bf probably eats. when she eats a normal meal she can eat a reasonable portion because she wasn't eating all that food during the day. her "muck bangs" are all she eats for the day and even there she doesn't eat the whole portion. Anyone can make videos like this, if you can afford all that food. but I've watched enough of her videos to see the 1-3 bite pattern. She probably averages about 2000-2200 calories a day which is reasonable to maintain her weight.
I really appreciate how Karissa describes all the foods! I really enjoy all of the different foods she eats and she eats nicely! I've gone to a lot of different restaurants and tried different delicious foods! I really can't handle the chili oil or hot sauces, bit I tried 😅. Thank you Karisa! Your puppy is too adorable ❤!

She still has to have an incredible metabolism because I couldn’t eat a quarter of what she eats that we see what she eat and not get enormous. Maybe it’s my metabolism? Even with her working out a half hour or however, long a day it would not work for me. Having said that she is the most delightful, cheerful girl I have ever seen in my life! I love her and I love the way she never is negative about anything❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Rather than questioning how one doesn't gain weight or what ones metabolism must be like, I am more curious to know what your general health you don't see is like. I am always so curious how food vloggers maintain their cholesterol levels, what are your triglycerides levels looking like with all that junk? Sure, maintaining a healthy weight most certainly helps, but what about your heart health and gut health? Y'all are very brave to do this to your bodies for monetary reasons, it all adds up and catches up eventually. I'm not saying I am the healthiest person in the world by any means, I am just simply curious what the real health wellness looks like overall for anyone who eats food in this amount or eats junk/greasy/spicy food on a regular basis. This video didn't really support any valid health concerns. Glad you do keep up with workouts, definitely helps,just don't ignore the inner health that is unseen. It can definitely lead to silent killer problems.

Those are some positive words, but these types of foods are so unhealthy that will cause health issues later in life. (Not just referring to weight gain) People can look healthy on the outside but the body can be fighting a hard battle on the inside. Take care of yourselves people and don’t just mindly follow other people’s choices.

It's not. The scale only shows weight and not your body composition. You can be clinically obese even at a healthy weight.
The scale also doesn't show fat distribution which is the biggest indicator of health.
The scale also can't show how much visceral fat you carry (the eye can't even see that, all we can see is subcutaneous fat which doesn't have much negative side effects) which is the biggest indicator of bad health.
It's visceral fat that increases your chance in developing diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and even some types of cancers.
And men are more prone to storing visceral fat. While women are more likely to develop subcutaneous fat. This tendency to store visceral fat means that men are actually more prone to fat-related illnesses and conditions, like heart disease and diabetes.
