Daniel Barenboim, the late Edward Said and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra send a powerful message: despite our differences we can live in peace together and together we can work and produce something wonderful... may their message and wisdom be spread far and wide and may all the people of Israel and Palestine find peace.
I came across this by accident but at this moment when the Middle East is in chaos and much worse is threatened it is a stark reminder of what the human race is about working together depsite our many differences. I understand that Daniel Barenboim is not in great health but this work will be his lasting legacy!!!
Let the young people continue in their practice of being fanatics of sports and so on while they can. How many of us growing up in the 1960s could describe what peace is until war came along. Then hostage taking in the 1980s, and terrorist attacks in the1990s ? May God continue to bless and strenghten their lives.
