This concert is a testimony. He was obviously at peak form, the music is just sensational. I first listened to this music with his cds back in the nineties, but this is something else. The Italian Concert he plays here, to me, is the best rendition I have ever witnessed. A video to be remembered and shown to young pianists. Also, the audience seems to be very aware that they are watching something special. And in top of that, Mr. Schiff was enjoying the music he was playing. This is a Celebration
I don't know why, every time when i listen to Andras Schiff playing Bach, i feel myself sitting in a church, praying God and surrounded with angels. Thanks for uploading.
Almost three hundred years later and we are still enjoying the music of Bach thanks to Andras Schiff and his masterclass performance. I think Bach was already in heaven when he wrote these pieces.

I cosign, 100%! That was the greatest rendition of the Italian Concerto I have ever heard, and live no less!
A
His 70th birthday today. Happy Birthday, Mr. Schiff. And many, many thanks.
Merci. 🙏

I love his playing here. Look how relaxed his hands are. No tension whatsoever. The music just comes out of his fingers effortlessly.
13 years ago, but Bach is timeless and so is sir Andeás Schiff.
Wonderful
He was on fire that night, the overture is sublime, my personal favourite recording
Occasionally punctuated by chords, the French suites contain some of the most sublime and beautiful two voice counterpoint ever written.
did this guy really just play for 2 hours straight? what an amazing achievement
He accompanied in Winterreise, then played a complete Schubert sonata. (Wife reported)
@@PKLARREICH just amazing

I've been listening for the third day in a row. Ingenious.
What a performance and a sublime rendering of Bach top works. Thank you Mr. Schiff!
I love this recording of the French Suites. That frrst Allemande gives me goose pimples every time, divine.
The man has the touch. Such magic! I'm going to find his CDs.
Not the touch is magic but the flow.
Gracias, gracias
no pedal and the piano sings with that beautiful bel canto legato ...!how he gets that singing tone is a mystery to me.
Enjoying every note. My deepest gratitude!
Wow!.. Sencillamente maravilloso! Gracias!

quel toucher! les voix ressortent, la perfection...
This by @jason1675 is the very best comment here. The shortcuts to the most moving and intimate movements. Thank you.
If Perahia's DG album is a textbook, this surely is a book of poetry (I love both).❤
I think he has done different renditions of the French Suites. The present one is of a high order. Humbled. Beautiful !
🎉bravo,bravo!!!!
Absolutely magnificent performance. A master of his craft playing a master of compositions. 🎉TY for sharing these beautiful suites.
Great music and playing
Thank you, Sir!❤
Amazing ! 👏👏👏
Wonderful
Extraordinario❤
The World just stopped! Wow.
Heavenly❤

❤❤❤
Magyar lélekkel ❤
might include that in the demo reel, haha, if i ever have time to do it
👏👏👏👍

Did he play the no.3 menuet twice?
9:06
only certain plp can get away with doing that, if i were to select piano, i would select a gloss finish because it's gonna be furniture anyway
no point selecting piano, i think it brings the value of piano down when u do that
maybe u can be like chopin, solo artist touring europe
Second to none
Why in the world do they linger on a close up of the face of Schiff? I want to see his fingers - not his pores!
1h 20 bourree out of Solar System
Ugh, that insufferable light , equal, dull touch that goes so well with the dumb smile. This as bad as it can get
is the piano going out of fashion
No
God DAMN baroque music sounds bad on a Steinway grand. This is not music. It's a bunch of notes put together.
