Vintage Cross Stitched Tablecloth Upcycled Remade Repurposed into a Shirt or Smock

  • A while back I bought a vintage cross-stitched tablecloth at a thrift haul. In this DYI clothing video I upcycle this thrift find into a shirt and artsy smock. I also go through my collection of linens to make two more upcycled tops from some embroidered tablerunners and upcycle a large white tablecloth. I work through the process of remaking old things into new, using a sewing pattern as a guide and problem solving as I go along.
I also address when to upcycle items and when to keep them in their original condition. Should you remake vintage linens or keep them as is? Reusing material that we already own, we move towards being eco-friendly and wearing clothes that have sustainability. Watch this video for insight.
Is a serger really necessary for finishing edges? I talk about why I think my Singer Serger Pro Finish is the best way to keep seams neat.

How to make clothes for your self when you're home bound and no way to go get sheets or fabric to sewn as a beginner with a machine that a family member gave me and I on a very low budget

Isn’t it great to have “old” friends? I have one from first grade that I keep in touch with for the last 50 years. You all look great in your new smocks!

Hey Angela I'm so excited I found your channel I feel we are kindred spirits. I play the ukulele and sing silly songs for women's retreats and I'm the nutty professor Neutron that teaches kids about science via experiments and I never really fit into the quilting community because my quilts do not look like theirs, I don't even own a quilt pattern, I wing it! I love watching your creative videos and your creativity shows beautifully. So long from northern Michigan!
