I know it'll be a huge pain and a lot of extra work but maybe use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm up the adhesive to make it stick better and it'll probably flatten as well.

Better off using a real vinyl plank flooring for this, use the floating click lock vinyl plank or tiles and use liquid nail on the backs, that’s way they’re secured in on the sides through the clic clock grooves and secured to the wall with liquid nail or a better adhesive.
We just bought these planks. We are thinking about adding extra adhesive to the walls before applying. I see your video was posted 4 months ago. How are the planks holding up now?
