So Matt Damon is currently working with the city of Boston to get a bronze statue of Robin Williams on the exact same bench in the exact same park from this scene to not only honor Robin but for people who do visit and sit on that bench so they can feel like they’re actually talking to Robin.
The thing about Damons Character is that hes so knowledgeable, yet he knows nothing because he hasnt had those experienced. Its like knowing everything about how a car is put together and works....but it dosnt mean you can drive it
The problem was that it was just a simple case of depression. He had Lewy-Body dementia, that was literally ripping his mind apart. There is no cure for it. He committed suicide, but he he had no idea of what he was facing. He was only diagnosed after his death, when his brain was examined.
It’s no wonder that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck won Academy Awards for this script. It’s also no wonder that Robin Williams won an Academy Award for his performance. Both are amazing.
Well they didn't write this script. Look up what the actual script they wrote was about. I'll give you a hint, it was an international action spy mystery about genius Boston street kids on the run from the government. The studio liked elements of the script. Robins character wasn't even in it at the time. The studio bought it and brought in a real Hollywood writer and voila, Good Will Hunting. That writer refuses credit, but its Matt's and Bens character so they keep credit. People need to stop repeating the falsehood they wrote this movie. No they wrote the original version, not what was filmed.
Matt Damon started writing the film as a final assignment for a playwriting class that he was taking at Harvard University. Instead of writing a one-act play, Damon submitted a 40-page script. He wrote into his script his then-girlfriend, medical student Skylar Satenstein (credited in the closing credits of the film).
Yes he wrote a script that included some of these characters. He did not write the movie you saw. Simply look up what the original plot of his script was. It's NOTHING like this. It was an action movie, not a drama
One of the most legendary pieces of monologue I've ever experienced, that has ever been delivered in cinematic history and who else to better deliver it than the Late Mr. Robin Williams himself. For every one who has watched this scene. This is reality on the face, raw and uncut. This is a movie monologue yet it has the power to captivate you emotionally because every line in this is as real as it gets. One of my most cherished works for Robin Williams. RIP Sir, you truly made something here. My friends and family died of cancer and I can really feel what he is saying it's remarkable how they put it in words. Sometimes there just isn't enough words for stuff like this.
We hide behind so much. This is brilliant and I love these reactions, though “Michelangelo, the turtle?”kind of gave me pause(and a chuckle!) Another great compilation of reactions! Thank you!
After Robin Williams passed someone went to the exact bench in Boston Common where this scene was filmed and scrawled an inscription. The epitaph read only three words - “Your move Chief.” ❤
This is one of the best monologs performed in a movie and I literally cringe when a reactor doesnt know when to just be quiet and absorb the brilliance in the writing & delivery then there's the pathetic editors that chop up the monolog on the reaction channels and CUT PARTS OUT??? WHY.
I currently live 10 minutes from that bench, it's a landmark now. I also grew up in South Boston "Southie" where this is based. I don't remember any tough guy mathematicians.
Ah, another one of these popped up in my Recs, and I promised myself I wasn't going to react to the reactors: hypocrisy on my part, of a sort. But when I saw the scene they were reacting to, I had to click to see, and man, my low expectations were entirely met. 😂 The winners for least obnoxious were Whimsory and Addie, particularly Addie, who, um, actually watched the scene rather than talking over it. (Pretty much Whimsory, too.) Talking is not "reacting", but I guess that particular toothpaste can't be put back in the (You)Tube, as it were. Hahaha. Ha. ANYway, some of these were cringe. That doofus who made the TMNT joke, wow. I've seen that guy before: he and his wife or whatever scream at each other through all their reactions. No idea why people like them, but at least they don't pretend to be watching a movie, so perhaps they're more honest than most. Of course there were the obligatory "MIC DROP!" and "You just got SCHOOLED, boy!" comments. ("Oh snap!" was missing, but maybe that phrase is passé.) I'm just glad BlissFlix was here to explain each line of Robin Williams' monologue, because I don't know about you guys, but I was totally lost. Williams: "Holding her hand in the hospital room for 2 months because the doctors could see in your eyes that the words 'visiting hours' don't apply to you" - BlissFlix: "Because you're going to be staying there and holding her hand." 🤝😞😂 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You know, it occurs to me: most of these reactors need a Robin Williams in THEIR lives.

Nice
That makes me feel good. Thank you. I hope that happens. 🙏🏽
Well, that got me ugly crying. I miss Robin so very much. Thanks for the Laughs Sir. Meet you on the other side. 🙏🏾✝️🫶🏾
Shit that comment made me emotional, R.I.P. Robin ❤
I saw that interview. We’re going when it goes up.

Damn, that's a pretty good analogy.
@@maxxobermeier9626It was pretty good, wasn't it.
One of the greatest monologues ever.
I so wish Robin could have gotten the help he so desperately needed. The world is so less funny without that man. Miss you Mr. Williams.

Lol I forgot about Ash's iconic "the Ninja Turtle?" line what a legend
Did he just never get that the ninja turtles were named after renaissance artists? 😭😭
She got herself a winner right there ! 😂
It's SYMBOLISM!!!
Dearest Robin. I swear his loss is palpable. Love you Mr. Williams. ❤❤

Quite possibly the best scene ever put to screen. EVER
Now please follow this up with " it's not your fault scene"
Yes!!!!
I second this.

I really, really miss Robin Williams. 😔
As do I. As does the world. 😢

So... The real genius of this story? Robin Williams character, off course. Real intelligence; wisdom.
After Robin Williams passed someone went to the exact bench in Boston Common where this scene was filmed and scrawled an inscription. The epitaph read only three words - “Your move Chief.” ❤
"It's not your fault."
There’s an interview with Damon talking about that scene. It’s great.
This is one of the best monologs performed in a movie and I literally cringe when a reactor doesnt know when to just be quiet and absorb the brilliance in the writing & delivery then there's the pathetic editors that chop up the monolog on the reaction channels and CUT PARTS OUT??? WHY.
If the scene aren't edited and cut, creators get hit with copyright violations...
... now you know. 😉
That scene is one of the greatest in movie history. Won Robin Williams an Oscar.
It is life experiences. Not reading from a book. I got to go see about a girl. Sob stole my line
I currently live 10 minutes from that bench, it's a landmark now. I also grew up in South Boston "Southie" where this is based. I don't remember any tough guy mathematicians.
I love this channel, the content and your commentary at the end. Thank you so much.
"Michelangelo, what the Ninja turtle?" wauw 😀hahahahaha
Life will never be the sa.e without him.
It takes a lot of work to watch & edit these videos; Good Job!...
Lol
The "home run" scene is a must "Got to see about a girl"
I would give anything to hug Robin Williams
Life can't be read. Just lived. If you never go outside your home, then you are missing a lot of things.
Can you do the break up scene before you do the it's not your fault scene ??
What if Will did know what the Sistine Chapel smells like, and Sean’s whole speech was ruined at the beginning?
I watched all of those reactions 😅
stef 💪

"You know nothing, Jon Snow"
God I miss Robin
Michelangelo is just a Ninja turtle?
