Judging from how Leffen has reacted within the hour to Hax's boxx content on twitter over multiple years, it's an understatement to say he has an obsession/vendetta. It doesn't seem to far fetched given Leffens obsessive history regarding Hax and the boxx in particular

Everyone who's been clowning on hax videos for the past few years calling him washed just got sat tf down. When anyone else would've given up after his injury, he relearnt to play from scratch, manufactured a new controller, focused on getting it legal and fair, focused on making it a quality product. Now he is finally back to stomp everyone. 2020 is hax's year, he us going to take names. I truly believe he can be ranked top 10 again.

@@pokepines2516 injury in hands, not exactly sure if it was arthritis or something different. Instead of quitting he created the box, a controller specially made for him to play melee without hand pain. Uses similar model to the hitbox, no stick all buttons.
@@shooeeeeee his tendons were calcified. It's a genetic bone issue made worse by the strains his hands were under from Melee.

Hax$ played so clean, dude just imagine if he didn’t have that injury with his hands and used the GameCube controller for the previous years till now? He’d be such a threat I swear just from how insanely fast he was originally with the GameCube controller , there are some pros and cons with his new controller that make his movement different (anyone would know this if they kept up with how he played using a GameCube controller) but regardless he makes it work and is still amazing.
yeah, I remember waching him vs Armada at Justice 4 in GF and WS and he was doing insane tech and taking games--that was 5 years ago, so he'd be top 5 for sure by now.

fun fact, before Genesis 7, Hax and Leffen had only ever played at one other tournament: MLG Anaheim 2014. They played two sets, both sets were 3-2, and hax won the first set while leffen won the second set. All other contexts set aside for brevity sake, this really does seem like a role reversal in many ways.

Honestly, I have such respect for Hax. He literally had to relearn this game. When he switched to Fox, relearning all the data and then now having to relearn this on a new controller set up. Absolutely amazing. This confirms it really is a mix of tech skill AND knowledge of the game which Hax has always had the mindset of a Top Player.
I’m sure his GameCube experience carried over

@@koquin7163 think the boxx is better than a gamecube controller actually. it definitely helps people be more precise. while i doubt he would’ve made the switch without his hands being messed up, this controller might actually help him in the long wrong not including hand pains.

their beef is so old. Hax has never gotten over Leffen's horrible attitude from smashboards (aka Leffen's attitude that got him banned from Sweden). There's a thread about how future melee will always be defensive and Leffen jumps in and says "hax and m2k are forever biased and wrong" and just shits up the thread, and then Hax responds by "you're bad at this game and you have no credibility". Hax has had plenty of bad interactions with Leffen on smashboards and basically thinks Leffen has never been reformed since then.

Edit: I was wrong, I forgot about the classic set with Hax$ Falcon vs Leffen at Apex 2013. He also won a Fox ditto at MLG 2014, which I didn't know. However, both of these were before Leffen was a God slayer.
