The very end of that last stock was so beautiful. Zain went full agro mode and shut down every recovery option falco had. Nothing falco did could have saved him. If you watch after those 3 jabs... He even runs off the stage to cover any further potential recovery. Text book option coverage.

As hype as Mango - Leffen is, I think Mango - Zain is starting to be my favorite matchup in the game. These sets here and at Big House were insane.
I agree. Personally, I'd also throw in Zain/Hbox. Seeing two patient players with spacing oriented characters is super nerve racking but also super fascinating.

Using it to escape to/edge cancel on top platform, more specifically. Mango uses it several times in this run at Genesis. No, it's not new but it is niche. I personally associate it most with Axe, but that might be more because of Pikachu tech: Quick Attack from ground level to edge cancel on top platform.

You think Zain has the potential to be the next Ken or is this game too crowded with too many Gods that all keep winning tournaments decently evenly enough to where Zain could even consistently hold a reign?
Zain is really starting to come into his own as far as consistency goes. During his rise in '17 and '18 he had some really high peaks but definitely still struggled with consistency... And in '19 kinda seemed like he hit a wall or plateau as people started to figure him out... But at the end of 19 and starting here in 2020 he seems like he's starting to get a lock on being consistently great.
It’s all about the Marth. He jabs so fast and covers so much real estate with the sword. Then turns on the power with a flick of the wrist.
I think it’s incredible that Marth hasn’t been more widely used.

Melee is so much more exciting than Ultimate tbh.
I can't stand Fox for the love of it, but I'd lie if I said the games aren't super exciting to watch at least.
People can actually go off-stage and secure kills in this game, something they stopped giving a shit about after Brawl.
There's plenty of offstage kills in Ultimate on a ton of the cast the problem is a lot of the characters that are good in that game are so difficult and risky to go off stage against that it's not worth it when ledge trapping is safer and often more rewarding. I agree melee is more exciting to watch overall, but LAN mkLeo is incredibly entertaining in Ultimate IMO, along with a dozen or so other top players. Camp-ridden defensive gameplay has dominated the past three smash games for sure however.

Yeah that was the set, I think. In that position, Mango should have hunkered down in the pit and absolutely refused to get routed from there. Instead he put himself in a spot to get launched by Zain and ultimately KO'd

EJ Maggs When the game doesnt register a hit connecting but still makes the sound effect and such. Like a phantom rest from a puff where it makes the loud “clank” but the player doesnt go anywhere and puff falls asleep giving the player a free punish
It happens when you're a few frames off of a hit
To be specific it’s when you’re a pixel off your hit, so it’s the in between of actually landing your hit and missing. That’s why Toph calls it bonus damage but there’s no knock back

How are the Falco lasers being returned by Marth's shielding?
It's a tech called power shielding. It basically turns your shield into a reflector if you can time it right.
