  • Awesome talk by one of my favorite AA speakers, Mark H. He shares in his signature no-nonsense way about living the program on a daily basis and shares his experience with personal inventory, meditation, and practicing the "three sides of the triangle" Unity, Service, and Recovery. Wonderful share on Steps 10, 11, and 12. Enjoy! :)
Addiction treatment WORKS! The Twelve Step Model has been utilized as a treatment for alcohol abuse and alcoholism since 1935. It is extremely important to know that help IS out there and addiction recovery is possible. If you are battling alcoholism, drug addiction, addiction or any other form of addictive behavior, there are people who know EXACTLY what it is like!
You can find out more at: www.aa.org - Alcoholics Anonymous Official Site - As should be blatantly obvious, we are in no way affiliated with them or any other Twelve Step Program. We are just looking to provide hope to those suffering from alcoholism or addiction.
It is important to note there are several ways for one to address his or her alcohol abuse treatment. Substance abuse is a very serious condition and has become an epidemic in today's world. Many people suffering with substance abuse need treatment, such as inpatient stays, rehab, or counseling. The importance and purpose of this video, and all our other videos, is to show that recovery IS possible and to give hope to those who are struggling with alcohol and drug addiction issues. Help IS out there!
From the book Alcoholics Anonymous: "In spite of the great increase in the size and span of this Fellowship, at its core it remains simple and personal. Each day, somewhere in the world, recovery begins when one alcoholic talks with another alcoholic, sharing experience, strength, and hope."
Every tape is carefully selected to ensure its quality and that it is entertaining to listen to. You can trust Odomtology 12-Step Recovery Media to be synonymous with the best online recovery material out there. QUALITY is our mission. This is why we have such a large and engaged following. Have fun and enjoy listening to the amazing, wonderful, and powerful recovery speakers!

We get spiritualy attacked; character assassinated when we do the big book, and speak the big book. People like to drag people back wether they “work the steps” or not. There’s working the steps, then there’s working the steps in the book. 2 totally different concepts. That’s why the success rates or dire; that’s not my opinion that’s what the archives say.

Because a lot of people in recovery are under the impression that they were not anonymous while drinking drugging etc...why should they be when they are well? And if a member of AA in the hospital are the nurses going to know Big Joe from the Welcome Group or Jimmy the chin from New Hope? It is all personal preference and the reason for anonymity in the beginning was because there were so few who had recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind that when the word got out that there was help the first few would be inundated with inquiries and pleas for help that they would not be able to do their actual professions,

I honestly don't understand how this has 89 disliskes!,,....?..... either you disliking are truly not alcoholic n just lost or u are much much sicker than the rest of us. Thank you mark .. u and Joe have had a profound effect on me... without an amazing person like you with such incredible leadership love devotion and understanding....so many of us would be without hope.. I am beyond grateful for your service and I would hope others struggling can understand and see your message the way I do... every time u speak..I laugh..I cry and I gain some hope that one of these days I will get it right n let go and get better... u always give me hope and shame on those who dislike .... mark is one of the brightest most profound AA members I've even heard speak and I feel bad for those who don't see the amazing brilliant mind he had n all he contributed to us...he was n always will be a great great man.. I wish I could have met him in person...he truly understands what it is to be alcoholic n how the program works ❤

“I finally woke up to this fact one day, that these people that I was upset with or making judgments about we're not acting that way out of choice. They, like me, were being driven. And they could do it no different. And here I am getting upset at them, and the reason I am upset at them was 2 fold. 1. Is, I thought they could act differently, but 2. the only reason I wanted them to act differently was I needed something from them. And I woke up to that.”

One gets there when they get there. My prayer and hope is that we all get there. The depths and weight of the book, the program must be progressive, just as the illness I suffer from does. I suffer from a 3 fold illness, so the malady must be treated regularly- or else... These days, there's so many opinions in the rooms, and it saddens me. This is a fatal illness with fatal progression, so I must progress spiritually. A new experience is the only way that can take place. That, for me, means the practices and disciplines must continue to strengthen. "Being inexperienced, and having just made conscious contact with God, it is not probable we are going to be inspired at all times." It's about the 24 hours ahead, most don't get that. I didn't for a good while. I used to be like I've been sober for years. How can I still be inexperienced? It's about just starting my day and making conscious contact today in the morning, I have no experience for each day.

We are not a glum lot. The same happens when Eckhart Tolle speaks. And Alan Watts. And Ran Dass. John Cleese sums it up well by noting there is a difference between Seriousness and Solemnity. Solemn is like Catholic mass. Being serious does not mean an inability or unwillingness to laugh. Look up rule #62. 😅
