I had the honor to listen to Chuck C. 4 times in his later years. He is a delight to listen to. In addition to being an active member of AA he was a Unity minister. I have been sober in AA for 37 years and I personally feel I owe a lot of that to Chuck C. His book A New Pair Of Glasses condenses his teachings from a weekend retreat where he spoke. I was also honored to visit Chuck C. In his home in Latina Beach when I was only 9 months sober. He talked to me for close to 3 hours explaining the steps of recovery and the importance of taking the steps and of living the steps in our life on a daily basis. Listen to as much Chuck C. as you can. Clancy and many others are also great!! Immerse yourself into the program of recovery and enjoy living life happy, joyous and free!!
Did he also know Ernest Holmes? Science of mind? I listened to him everyday for 5 years or so when i first got sober.

I have recently become a member of AA and I was directed to this speaker as a means of getting the help I need when I can't get to a meeting. I scroll down and I see your comment and low and behold, I know you! I'm Aaron's older brother.

The meeting in West Covina that Chuck referred to is the Lark Ellen Group. I attended many many meetings there. Chuck is one of two people who helped me find my calling to the Priesthood. Chuck was a good friend whom I love to this day. May he be enjoying the eternal meeting in Heaven.
Unfortunate that Chuck wasn't Catholic though. He seemed to have a lot of unusual ideas that probably came from the psychology of the time period.
@@Chungustav Chuck was an Ordained Minister with the Church of Religious Science. He spent a great deal of time in my home when I was young. He is perhaps one of the most deeply spiritual people I have had the joy to know. I shall always be grateful for the spiritual guidance he gave me. One does not need to be Catholic to know spiritual truths. Peace.

Is recovery from the disease of alcoholism dependent on the Fellowship of the program of AA?
AA and the 12 steps have giving me a new life, meetings are a way for me to stay connected and to help other Alcoholics . The steps are necessary to change your life, this has been my experience. Meetings, working with others and practicing the principal s of the 12 steps keep me sober. I recently celebrated 32 months continuous sobriety.

Not all all. It’s dependent on you and your god. The fellowship is important where you will share your message to the alcoholic that still suffers.
