Ha! Glad you got it :) you also can control displacement with a ramp or animated texture as the mask in the displacement blender and control it in there. But I like controlling with fields too, and vertex mapping is def the best way for visual control in the viewport. Def posting this in the discord for the community! Thanks for sharing!
Yes they are! They are from the new Colorful Abstract Materials collection. You can see them all here! 3dassets.greyscalegorilla.com/collections/3e24c3e1-39fe-43a0-96dd-23733a4d1221
How in the world did I not know about the reference node!? I need to look into the Node system. I’m still not as proficient in as I was with Shader Graph.
Hi GG, What HDRI did you use for this scene and what is the red candy texture on the top half? I like this look. Figured out the Red candy texture just need the HDRI now :)
Thanks for the question. 1. The HDRI is #45 from our Pro Studios Metal Collection. 3dassets.greyscalegorilla.com/collections/edcdf057-28a4-49a7-96c5-d60dc93258bd 2. The Materials are from the new Colorful Abstract Materials collection. Maybe we need to do a scene breakdown? 🤔
Make more blender content. We also pay for the subscription, but we don’t get equal amount of content. Second option is to lower the subscription fee for anything but cinema4D.

Thanks!

@@Greyscalegorilla Do it!
@@Greyscalegorillathis is a very nice set up so that would be amazing.
What about octane?
is there a way to do it for Octane?
Octane also has material blender. And I think it does support Displacement. Can someone confirm?
Need to use node material, I tried in legacy mode and didn't work :( thanks for sharing this.
Good reminder. Thanks for watching!

Did this technique over a decade ago in Cinema 4D. Nothing new. Just different workflow.
Why didn't you make a youtube video so I could learn it too!? 😜
