Interesting Loki show involved a multiverse collapse No way home involved a multiverse collapse Dr strange 2 involved a multiverse collapse Across the spider verse involved a multiverse collapse And all of threes are cannon to the MCU. And non of the plot lines got solved. Which means there’s something big happening soon
I love that Prowler Miles has more of an accent because of being around his Mom more since his dad passed. I really really loved that they included such a family centered dynamic way better than the Fast franchise lol. Like his Mom literally tells him “don’t let those big fancy places tell you that you don’t belong” and what does Miguel tell him “you don’t belong here, you never did”. Miles’ mom literally gave him the push he needed to escape and his drive to save his dad. I loved this movie took my nephew to see it 🤣💪🏽
I like to believe that because of the high crime rates in 42 Miles never really got to see his dad so he hung out more with his Mom (my head cannon anyways)
Something I JUST realized while on this rewatch, Miles BARELY glitches in Mumbattan outside of the one time, and it was only in response to "not belonging there." Which is repeated later in the Nueva York chase.
In theaters, the movie ended with a proclamation that the next movie would be out in March 2024. This movie took five years to make, and they hadn’t done ANY work on the next one when this released. Fortunately, Beyond the Spider-Verse has been delayed “indefinitely,” because otherwise the animators would have been crunched into paste. I appreciate your support for the strikes! VFX artists and animators are starting to form their own union, with support from the WGA and SAG-AFTRA, so people making incredible movies like this will be able to do their best work
They were already pretty crunched making this movie; it's why there were different versions running in theaters and why the home release has even more differences
Beyond was, in all likelihood, always getting delayed; the strike gave it cover. As to how long the delay will be...it's complicated. While Across took five years to make, part of that was having to build assets they didn't have. Miles' and Gwen's new, older models, Jess, Miguel, Hobie and Pav, the antagonists, all the Spider People, various sets....there's a lot of that they have on hand for Beyond that they didn't have for Across....but they also most likely want to go even bigger for the finale. So it's hard to judge how long the next one will be under construction.
@@ADifferentVibeStill if or when Beyond the Spider-Verse comes out, we’ll all be ready for it. Besides after what the animators went through to make this masterpiece, they deserve a break.
I love how well Miguel as a antagonist represents the fundamental flaw of the Spider Society’s doctrine: that Spider-People are defined by their trauma and that their trauma is essential.
I think what sets Miguel up so well, is the fact that he's only barely a Spider-Man. Not only does his origin not fit the others as the random act of fate... but he doesn't have the core spider power... Spidey-sense. There the scene in Mumbattan that drives this home. The scene where Captain Singh is in danger, we see Miles and Gwen... but only Miles's spidey-sense fires. Gwen isn't alerted because she's been fully indoctrinated into Miguel's worldview. Thus doesn't perceive that as danger. Which Miguel doesn't perceive as danger, because he doesn't have a spidey-sense. Also also, we see so much mirroring throughout the other Spiders. Gwen and Miles have the same sense of humor (villain of the week, cow man)... Hobie and Peter B both roast Miles's suit (Bleeding from the arm pits) Miles and Pravinder (Chai Tea/Automated Teller Machine) ... so all of the spiders, even though they are different people, they are the same person... almost like the personality that they occupy is what makes then the Spider Avatar... the personality that Miguel doesn't embody.
@@ripleyjlawman.3162 he absolutely is the villain. Kingpin was the villain when he tried to nab a backup version of his family. (Miguel's original plan). The TVA was the villain when they were destroying entire branch timelines to preserve the sacred timeline. (Miguel's current plan). Outside of everything else... the core piece of being a Spider-Being, "If you can act, you do act". The "with great power comes great responsibility"... and Miguel is sitting her corrupting that core principle saying, "we have to LET some people die". He's trying to sidle it up next to the acceptance necessary in knowing that, "you can't save everyone"... and you can't, but you definitely try. Not to mention that his scientific reasoning isn't tested, it's a theory.
@@Rated314 "Not to mention that his scientific reasoning isn't tested, it's a theory." And a flawed theory at that. Miles is trying to stop a bad thing from happening in his universe and because it's a canon event, Miguel thinks it not happening is going to ruin the universe......but he fails to consider the specifics and nuance. He has no evidence that *stopping* a canon event will destroy the universe. He has evidence that inserting a foreign being into a new universe for an extended period of time will ruin that universe. These two premises are not the same. He also doesn't consider that exceptions may exist, which is a core tenet of the pursuit of science: unless you have tested every single possibility you can never say something is 100% certain. The existence of the Spiderverse itself is proof of that: none of them are "the one and only Spider[being]" like they originally thought. Hell, did Uncle Ben even die after Peter Parker became Spiderman in E-19999 (the MCU)? Not that I can remember, and they're dealing with their universe stuff fine! Feel free to correct me on that if I'm wrong though
I love what they did with spot, turning a joke character into a legitimate threat. THAT'S good writing. I definitely support the strike. Hollywood needs to learn that they need us a lot more than we need them. Especially nowadays with so many talented writers/creators making masterpieces online. I'm not trying to come off as preachy. I just think these studios are shooting themselves in the foot.
I would support the strike if it was like in 2007 when there were good writers. Nowadays the people who started this strike are the very ones the consumers are sick of. People want escapism with movies. Not to be lectured. You can put politics in movies while not insulting your audience and forcing it down our throats. And when your movie tanks there are two things the writers and directors blame. Ists and Phobes
I followed this movie's development so obsessively that I forgot that other people... didn't. When people got upset about it being a part-one-part-two thing, I was surprised, because that's been public knowledge for like a year now. Still, it's an absolutely amazing movie and I can't wait for the third one to round it out! I hope they stick the landing, and I have absolute faith in them after both of these were perfect.
I didn't know this continuation would be a continuation for the 3rd like how it was here, but I was fine with it because aren't trilogies basically supposed to tell a story through 3 movies? And the movie was fucking great. Why would anyone prefer a compact movie where you might not get enough action, or character development, or set ups or story elements compared to a movie that sets up the last installment so well and since the 2nd movie which already does a good job of showing the incomplete yet building story of Gwen AND Miles while also showing Peter B's complete character arc WHILE setting up for the next movie and did amazing with introducing Miguel and the expansive Spider Society so well AND THEN we will get a action heavy 3rd installment since the 2nd one already did all the set up, character development and character intros.
I didn't see any trailers or anything for the first one and that was the best decision so I repeated that for this one. The theater I saw the movie in had subtitled the movie as "part 1" so I found out just before watching it. I'm really surprised that other theaters didn't do this.
The scene with miles and his mom is always heart warming, and makes me wanna cry every time I see it, the representation was so good to see in the movie and will always be my favorite movie ever 😊
Fun fact: When Gwen returns to her world and her father walks into her room, she shoots the penguin stuffed animal. The penguin stuffed animal is a reference to the gwen from another universe who is a penguin. This Gwen exists in the Peter Porker universe and is known as Spider-Guin
Miguel O'Hara is the Spiderman of 2099 and in his time all the Avengers are gone. He's not like the other Spidermen he wasn't bite by a radioactive spider he actively spliced his human DNA with Spider DNA. In an experiment to recreate the original Spiderman and it worked. Miguel became more spider then human and gained venomous fangs that secret paralytic venom and claws that he uses to climb walls. Miguel isn't evil he's just doing what he thinks is right, he broke the Canon once. And it ended up in the deaths of millions because of his selfishness. He's just trying to make up for his mistakes by maintaining order in the multiverse. But the problem is he's also projecting his own self hatred and guilt onto miles which is why he seems to hate him.
Not entirely true. Miguel's situation was an accident. His boss tried to kill him by tampering with an experiment he was doing to cure himself. Miguel survived and ended up with spider powers as a bonus.
I am so afraid of what they're going to do in the third film. In the same way that The Dark Knight is the best entry and a masterpiece unto itself... ATSV created a standard that I feel like you just cannot top. The Dark Knight Rises was awesome, but they needed several villains in order to try to match the damage that ONE Joker made. After ATSV, where can you go?!!!
Everyone overlooks how much Peters deaths could’ve affected Gwen’s dad. He believed his daughters best friend was murdered by a vigilante, it couldn’t have been easy to be confronted with Gwen being spidergirl. Keep in mind he’s probably come across a homicide between friends in the past. Not to say he acted perfectly but it’s not fair to just call him heartless
Facts. And that "you don't understand" hits hard on both perspectives. A lot of reactors (understanding) reply with no YOU don't understand don't always get this is personal to him too. His daughter's best friend, a kid he probably looks as a son or godson or whatever is gone and the last thing he sees is someone he disagrees with.
But to not even ask any questions about what happened that night, only a question of how long she's been 'lying'? Not to afford your ONLY child the benefit of the doubt in the murder of her best friend? Like it didn't tear her apart emotionally too? In that moment he was a bad father and an even worse detective/cop because all he's going off on is that 'she ran from the scene'? The fact that Spider-Woman has 1 (one) body count and it's Peter and he still didn't maybe give a thought to the fact that something else could've happened that night since from what we've seen Spider-Woman doesn't just kill people?? I can accept he was confused and conflicted but he deserves all of the harsh criticism he's getting from the audience for that scene because it was just unbelievable that being an obsessed cop was more important to him (esp after he SAW Spider-Woman stop a helicopter from killing a bunch of people when she could've just let it drop) than being a father to a daughter who only has him in her life and then has the nerve to act wounded from her lying to him as if he wasn't hellbent on 'catching her'.
He saw ghost spider like the green goblin. Like she showed to a prom party and push a beam on top of a innocent child and attempted to leave the scene. I think that's he saw it.
@@JaserJas but if he didn’t react the way he did in the scene, then there wouldn’t be any drama? The tension and the stakes would be SO much lower and less affecting. His arch and redemption at the end of the film would have been lessened. It wouldn’t make sense for Captain Stacy to just go “let’s sit and talk this out” in the middle of an active crime scene.
I was a bit apprehensive when I first saw the trailer for portraying Miguel O'Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 in an antagonistic way because Miguel is a far cry from a villain and he's also my all-time favourite Spider-Man in the comics but the movie did an amazing job for portraying him not as the villain but more like an opposing force. Also just to clarify, he is not part vampire. That was just a joke they made in the movie becuse he has fangs which can secrete paralyzing venom.
I agree with your commentary about the cultural references when rio is speaking to miles before he leaves, coming from a Hispanic background myself the little things they put in the dialogue like “que dios de vendiga” really hit hard to home, and I feel you perfectly summarized the way I also felt when watching this in the theater 👍🏼
Miles didn't know his own strength and he kind of panic and threw it. Panic people tun on adrenaline rush. So I'm guessing that bagel felt like bb gun bullet.
I get it, I've watched this movie already like 7 time's, prior to this reaction. And it leaves off honestly at the right moment, none of the situations that were set up coils have possibly been resolved in the time that was left of the movie, especially Spot, who is a legit multiversal threat at this point. Honestly, I have no idea how they're going to beat that guy now. I have a feeling the entire Spider society will have to come together, Miguel included.
Well, some details about canon events and Miles are (For now) a bit weird and unlogical from what Miguel is saying. But it being a problem or not depends entirely on the next movie, on will he answer those things correctly or not. Someone made a whole video on it that was very interesting. But till the next movie, I'd say this one have some little temporary problems. But don't get me wrong, it's just to say that the movie is maybe not perfect at everything. It's still a dang solid amazing movie!
@@WolffQuam You are right however that is just how the writers decided to make the movie. They left many questions unanswered and also added some inconsistencys, making us leave the theatre with questions and eager to find answers in the next movie
@@anyanyyyyyy7689 I know, that's why I talk about it as a temporary "problem". Because for now, some things are a bit weird, but maybe it will make total sense with the next movie. I just hope it's only a temporary "problem" and not just an inconsistency. But even if it was the case, those are still absolutely amazing movies!
To me the first movie had a lot of immediate set-up and pay-off, while this one took the slower burn of setting everything big up to have all the payoff when the third (and probably final?) Movie comes out. And I love them both
Starting with a mini Gwen story before the movie starts really gets you invested in her I'm glad they did that. Imo Across The Spider Verse is the best Spider-Man movie ever made, Into the Spider Verse is a close 2nd. These movies have elevated Miles Morales as a character so much for me. I read a lot of his comics and they were good, so was his video game, but the movies have put him on another level. If the 3rd movie Beyond the Spider Verse is as good as the other 2 then this will be the greatest super hero movie trilogy and one of the greatest movie trilogies overall.
It wasn't a mini-story... she's the deuteragonist. It's also her story throughout, only taking a backseat whenever Miles is driving the plot with his decisions.
The comics are good, but Uncle Aaron in the comics is not a likeable character and has no redemption arc before his death, just blames Miles as he dies. Into the Spiderverse fixed that, and fixed his parents to being civilians which is more risk than agents of shield
@@thembanitheone this^ I see alot of people complaining about this movie because it "wasn't a full story" but it absolutely was. It just wasn't miles' story, it was gwens. The movie starts with her and ends with her. She's the one who has the big arc and resolution. If anything this is gwens movie. Miles story takes place over the whole trilogy
@@chattycatty3336 you put this perfectly! Gwen's story has a full arc, she develops as a character, and her story going into the third act is at a place where she won't *have* to undergo much more character development to feel like her arc has resolved (but the writers might give it to her anyway). If anything, her role in the third movie is mostly to help Miles resolve HIS plotline. In this one, Miles doesn't really have to change much as a character in this movie from what we saw, he gets a bit more confident, but he isn't really confronted by much that changes how he does things, besides leaning harder into being who he is. The first movie had a full arc, but it was him coming to terms with his powers and responsibility; this one, we mostly see him get better at doing the things he learned how to in the first one; I'm guessing the third movie is going to force him to confront his "I can do both" approach that he's taken so far, and either find new ways to do it or make him step away from it sometimes. That's one of the things the "canon events" teach most of the other Spideys, but the fact that he's an anomaly might mean he won't have to have the same traumatic experiences to learn the same lesson - I would be very surprised if he isn't forced to deal with that concept somehow though.
In the end you took the words right out of my mouth: "I want to watch it again, and that's an amazing feeling". Thank you for showing me I'm not the only one who thinks like that about movies. I always ask myself when leaving a theatre if I want to watch the movie again. It's been a long time since I've had feeling (and it doesn't help that movie tickets are really expensive here in Norway 🇧🇻) but after I watched Across the spider-verse in the theater I really just wanted to watch it (at least) one more time. Like you said: That is an amazing feeling. This was a very good reaction video and it's the first video I've watched on this channel. Stay safe and happy.
I never got to see "Into the Spiderverse" in theaters.....I wanted to but just wasnt able. I saw it about a year later and fell in love with it because it was just sooo creative and new and the animation was breathtaking. So when this came out I made damn sure I saw it in theatres. I LOOOOOOOVEE this movie so much. They managed to blow the first one out of the water. Its soo good, the plot, the characters, pacing, animation, music.....just everything was elevated to such a high degree that when the "to be continued" hit I was blown away because I had no idea it was gonna be a part 1. Hands down fav part is when Gwen reconfronts her dad after getting sent back. The dialogue is soo good and the whole watercolour asthetic....its just beautiful.
I'm so glad you brought up representation, because this movie has one of my favorite bits of representation, Sun-Spider, she's the one with the crutches and the Spider Chair thing. When they made the Spider-Verse comics, they asked the fans to create Spider-People of their own to be put into the comics, Sun-Spider, or Charlotte Webber, is one of those. She has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder that causes hypermobility and a lot of pain and her creator has the same disorder. I have EDS as well, although much less severe in my case, and it's very under represented in media (all disabilities are to be honest) and it's just great getting to see a character like me.
Talking about representation, I was so hype. I saw this movie twice with friends and the second time around I styled my hair like Prowler Miles and it made me so happy. Then THE CODE SWITCH. "Yo daddy still alive?....Your father😒... you said he's still alive." I was with a very diverse group of Black, Asians, Latinas and we were all raving about *something* in this movie. This movie is so real it's ridiculous
I really like Miguel. As fucked up Miguel's action is, he done it for the greater good. He even mentioned it himself that he doesn't always like what he has to do. And I know they should try find a solution other than let their love ones died but the risk is to big to try anything else.
So you’d have no problem with your entire family having to be murdered by spot just because you want to become Spider-Man, or not cause millions of deaths of people who would sacrifice you to save theirs
@@anonymouslesbian1282 your comment makes no sense, go on else somewhere lesbian, you love Miguel because he’s attractive to you, otherwise you couldn’t handle dating him or marrying him for one minute without almost getting yourself killed because villains would know you’re his girlfriend or wife
@@anonymouslesbian1282 he’s not a villain, and he’s not doing anything for the greater good, if he is to this guy then that means all the Nazis who were conflicted with the Jewish people they were murdering only at the last minute expecting people to spare their lives were all “villains that people loved”
@@kyledeguzman165 i don't even like miguel beyond being a bullying target with oscar isaac's voice...you can see me make fun of him in other comments. my point just stands: people probably wouldn't vibe with villains or even antagonists if they were real people, but characters are different from people. they are reflections of writing quality (and horny artists in miguels case).
37:58 yeah that’s true, this after all Miguel’s original home dimension, but once he established the spider society he made its HQ in his home dimension, the one on screen right now.
I remember thinking in the theater at one point "it's been almost two hours how are they going to wrap this up" not even thinking it would be a two-parter.
My 1st time watching your reaction. I loved how much you enjoyed this film and was moved by the Hispanic representation 🙌🏾! That’s such a great part of why this film series was so amazing. And why I love their story telling. Both the films so far have been lights-out awesome! And I can’t wait for part 3. As a Panamanian American I’ve resonates so much with Miles and his character! This is such a beautifully presented, artistically challenging masterpiece
Honestly, that “great feeling” is something that I’m sure everyone felt with this movie and something I haven’t felt with a superhero/comic movie since marvel phase 1
22:56 100% agree it's always awesome to see representation like that in movies and tv, always makes me smile cause it makes it feel like I have a deeper connection with a work if it depicts part of my culture
These movies are really something different. The collaboration of the different art styles are really fluctuant with one another. The sound track is beautiful, the emotion engrained into the film. Happy comedy to sad and depressing, to beautiful scenery. This is one of my favorite movies. Watching your reaction made it all the better, new subscriber here. Have a wonderful day Clariss.
There's a lot of comments already, so not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but the actor voicing Rio is the one who suggested they add that last bit of conversation between Rio and Miles, specifically because it was a realistic cultural thing that "felt right" for that moment. They listened, and they put it in. The man who voiced Pavitr Prabhakar was also invited to join the writers in helping punch up the character because they didn't feel they had really grounded the character they had within his culture yet, so he made some suggestions that made the movie as well.
My theory for Miguel is that he was the first anomaly not Miles because remember ever spider man was bitten by a radioactive spider but he’s the only one who wasn’t.
Your words on deserving credits to the team were well put. As a creator myself I appreciate it and it gives me more confidence towards this topic's future.
Man this was an amazing reaction. I’ve been seeing reactions to this movie just to see it again for free but I’m so glad I found you. Also I love Are you dreaming in the credits. The beginning of the song is just beautiful.
The dude who voiced Hobie is the dude from Get Out. And as it so happens, the character of Hobie and the actor for Hobie (Daniel Kaluuya) both lived in the same part of London. Camden Town, London, England. So he knows the slang, the accent and everything. Although I love how this series brought back the 1 time gag in Into the Spiderverse about Miles' Universe not having a Comic Con XD Also, I believe that Miles will easily get out of that sandbag. It's very similar to when Miiles tied up Peter B and he got out of it easily while teaching him deception.
Now I'm REALLY looking forward to your 12 Angry Men review! Aside from that, you said something important (and you said it more than once)-- "I feel seen..." It is TRULY wonderful when you 'see yourself' on the screen. I remember my first time, and I still remember what that was like. Thanks for the reminder.
I connect with this movie so deeply in my soul. Been in both positions. Hurting a friend like Gwen did, and I love that the story is framed around her recounting it and what she's going through from the beginning with that amazing opening until the end where she forms her own band. And also feeling betrayed by friends like Miles felt.
Clariss, this is my favorite reaction! The creators of Across understood the assignment. Creating the best Spiderman film of all time is no simple task, but they made it look easy. Your aside about how beautifully they captured a Latino mother makes me tear up. 😢❤MFs know attention to detail. 😊
i love this movie, and I love peoples reactions to it. This is a Perfect Movie. The fact that the same team made 2 of those in a row is a miracle, but I have faith they will do it, at least one more time.
Yeah. Miles really hurt her feelings. Even though it was her fault for betraying Miles Morales. And yes, she and the other Spider-Man will find Miles before Miguel O'hara finds him first in the third movie of Spider-Man. But I know Miles Morales will not accepting her apology.
You have missed the end credits scene at the end of the first movie, it introduced Miguel. In the comics the original Prowler was named Hobie Brown, in another universe he does become Spider-Man dubbed Spider-Punk which he hates. The second Prowler was Aaron.
This movie is GLORIOUS, and I love how they continue the story. And I HATE that they left us on a cliffhanger like that... ooooooh... drives me nuts! Still, the next movie, Beyond the Spiderverse is slated for 2024, which I really hope doesn't get delayed. So, a couple of interesting things. Schnee did a great video about Hobie, and about how he's really a deliberately deceptive character even to the audience, keeping people from seeing what he's really up to until the pieces start falling into place. Beautifully executed, honestly. Secondly, I've heard one theory that the Miles of Earth 42 is not a villain, but a hero working to undermine the villains that took over that world. There are all sorts of signs and billboards for things owned by villains from The Sinister Six around the place. Also, if you watch the intro, the spider for that world gets pulled away as he's approaching someone who looks exactly like Earth 42's Miles. So, here's hoping that he winds up being a good guy in the end. Tied in with that, New Rockstars kind of pointed out that the intro and the outro from Gwen are... _kind_ of all part of her recruitment pitch for her own 'band' at the end there. I love that framing of this one. Can't wait for the next one!
14:15 wow just realised that you can see miles from the other universe in this shot where the spider got sucked into the portal. this probably wouldve been the moment where he became spiderman.
Speaking of 42:16 “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, if you haven’t seen the Easter egg breakdown video from the team, they added a nod to the movie which you could actually see in this video at 20:39 lol. The billboard is a play on words to the movie - including the bagel.
"What's important is not standing by while allowing someone to suffer or die because you do nothing if you don't get that, then you don't know the first thing about being spider-man." -spider-man edge of time I kid you not this quote came to my head during the "intervention" scene and as a long-time spider-man fan, it made the experience of watching this movie in theaters much more epic
The way they referenced the video game was Crazy and I don't know if anyone's a gamer in the comments but Spider-Man 2 will be the best Spider-Man story and Video game of all time.
i just relized most hereoes are like "i'm gonna sacrifice you to save the world" most villians are like "i'm gonna sacrifice the world to save you" and miguel in the movie is like "i'm gonna sacrifice you to save the world" the motif of a hero in a villian (actually he's just an antagonist but whatever)
This movie was truly a masterpiece, and your reactions were really insightful and full-bodied. It is such a great character piece, it is great, representation, it is super wholesome. It was lovely watching you be so touched by the film. You said that if the film wrapped it together in the final act, you would put on a similar level to Everything, Everywhere, All At Once. It didn't really end the way you expect, so what did you think about the movie as a whole package and a multiverse movie knowing how it ended?
Lmao That was my exact reaction when I saw it in the movies for the first time. I was probably one of the few people out of my group that didn't know that it was gonna be a 2 parter. 😂 This was such a masterpiece, And well, worth the wait. I cannot wait for the finale.!!!!!!
Hobie really is a good dude. Gwen was made homeless after revealing herself to her dad and running off so he let her crash in his dimension, seems to have only joined the whole Spider-Team thing to watch her back too as he leaves as soon as things get messed up and he had a backup plan by building the watch for Gwen if Miguel ever turned on her as things were already not right from the start. Despite the hints that they are close I doubt anything is actually going on between them as he seems very supportive of her and Miles so she probably confided in him that she has feelings for Miles already. They just seem like really close friends and he acts like a big brother looking out for her. There is also hints in the comics that Spider-Punk could be gay too so that might be the case in this too and it's just not come up yet. By what was revealed in this part they are probably setting up Miguel to be the actual anomaly that's caused all these issues and what caused the spider from another world to bite Miles as he was trying to get his family back, I feel like Miguel's goals are less about saving the world and keeping the natural order and will turn out more selfish as he's been set up to be the main villain with Spot acting as more of a Macguffin, my guess is Miguel needs Spot to do what he's doing so he can destroy Miles's world to get his family back or something.
Gwen Spidey-sense could feel Miles in Danger in another dimeson. Miles (Earth-42) dad died earlier in his life judging by how his accent is more pronounced from being more with his mom (Rio) more.
Yeah so the lego scene was made by this kid who makes lego parody videos. He made one of Spider-man into the Spider-verse, the creators saw it, loved it, and asked if he wanted to do a scene for them for the followup he was like um FUCK YEAH! The kid's mom was so proud of him, so cute. Also I'm pretty sure J Jonah's dialogue in that scene was a direct sample from the first Spider-man movie, the one with Tobey
I see a parallel in Miles and spot with them both haveing people push them down, but while Miles just doesn’t care and sees that he’s capable how he is, spot on the other hand hears these things and let the negativity go to his head so he goes out to improve himself to prove the people wrong. More over after Peter died Gwen was scared to reveal her face and when she did she was to scared to face her dad, but at the end of the movie she can.
After so long, I finally got to see this movie just yesterday, and the writers and the directors (they had 3 directors????) was just amazing in the bait and switch at the near end with Earth-42. And you almost caught it! I didn't, and I was amazed when I saw him glitched out, because the clues were right there in front of me and it just slipped my mind! And what Miguel said at the space elevator, that because of him, the spider-man in Miles' world wouldn't have died, that's a great point that also slipped my mind! And I had the very same reaction at the end. Never had I watched a movie and thought, "WAIT, THAT'S IT?!?!?! WTF, I WANT MORE!" other than me playing a computer game or DnD. Not to mention the drum solo at the beginning and at the end just caught the feelings of the moment very well, that I just wanna "LET'S GO GET, MILES!" I do have a small critique to the writers that seems to be a bit of a plothole, and that's the part where "'Spider-Man' has to have the canon event". I get that that's required in every spider-man's story, and it just what made them who they are. But Miles HAD HIS EVENT! So why the ef did he has to have another one?! Yeah, sure, it doesn't have to be "only one" but I found that it's a bit of a stretch just to make this story. And lastly, Jes Drew was a cool Spider-Woman, but the longer the story goes, I hated her more than Miguel. Miguel in this story was the kind of "lawful evil" type of character, who I still respect and "love to hate" and I also understood his point of view though I am decidedly against it, like Miles did. Jes however...how should I put this. She's the kind of irresponsible (if that's the right word..) character who's like, "yeah, I'm doing this because he told me to. No, I'm not gonna take responsibility for this. You fucked up, Gwen, so I'm not gonna support you whatsoever (even though I'm your 'mentor'" There was one scene where Gwen said, "Didn't you ever get close to someone?" and she said, "I did....and I got over it" She's like being cynical without being redeemable about it, or making us understand why she was cynical (okay maybe I should know Spider-Woman's story first, but still..." Yes, she fulfilled the promise that, she can't help Gwen if she wasn't able to stop Miles, but eff that!
They do very specifically say "canon events" as a plural, because it's heavily implied each Spidey has multiple. We know that Miles and Gwen both had their initial "Great Power, Great Responsibility" ones already, with losing an uncle and a best friend respectively, but they haven't lost police captains close to them yet. Pavitr presumably had his Great Power moment as well, or he probably wouldn't be Spiderman yet, but he hasn't lost a captain either until Miles prevents it from happening. It's also heavily implied that some other things like temporarily abandoning the role of Spidey (multiple comics, Sam Raimi films), nearly giving up when facing death under a pile of rubble until refusing to give up and pushing out from under it (MCU, multiple comics), an upside-down kiss moment (Sam Raimi, multiple comics), and at least a few others are canon events that happen to *nearly* all Spideys, although it's clear that the order can vary and that some of the less impactful ones are perhaps less essential to the character becoming the Spidey we know.

Interesting
Loki show involved a multiverse collapse
No way home involved a multiverse collapse
Dr strange 2 involved a multiverse collapse
Across the spider verse involved a multiverse collapse
And all of threes are cannon to the MCU. And non of the plot lines got solved. Which means there’s something big happening soon
Congratulations on your engagement beautiful 🥰
Tim is a very lucky guy to have you 🤩
I love that Prowler Miles has more of an accent because of being around his Mom more since his dad passed.
I loved this movie took my nephew to see it 🤣💪🏽
I also love how Prowler Miles is taller than Spidey Miles. Miles was lifted by the sandbag yet Prowler Miles is eye level with Spidey Miles.
I like to believe that because of the high crime rates in 42 Miles never really got to see his dad so he hung out more with his Mom (my head cannon anyways)
@@mochii813 And his uncle.
@@mochii813 he obviously hung out more with his uncle, more than his mom probably
So it's hard to judge how long the next one will be under construction.
these were just rumors tho? They said that they worked on both at the same time.
I'd say at least 2026 at best.
Even so, Miguel is not a villain, merely an antagonist.
@DanGaningFan2846 I’ve seen this comment in every comment section about this movie
@@Rated314 "Not to mention that his scientific reasoning isn't tested, it's a theory."
And a flawed theory at that.
Forgot to say: making masterpieces and a comfortable living doing the things they love.
Agreed. Considering the salaries that lead actors and executives get there is no excuse to not pay everyone fairly

I went in knowing it was a TBC because I also follow the development but hearing people's reaction was so fun 😂
I watch reactions just to see people react to the ending.
Renaming the third from Part 2 to Beyond was so late that some of the merch still says Part One all over it
Rio talking to her son breaks my heart.
"You want to go easy on the penguin" meaning she should go easy on herself
I always thought it was just a nickname for her, Peng-Gwen
Preach it brother!

After ATSV, where can you go?!!!

This movie is absolutely insane!! Honestly it's probably the best animated movie I've ever seen.
Something i found interesting was Spider punk is an alternate Hobie Brown because that was the original name of the Prowler
ooohhhhh thanks idk, now it makes sense.
Imagine how hard that bagel felt to him 😂 especially seeing that Miles barely knew his own strength 😩🤣
Miles didn't know his own strength and he kind of panic and threw it. Panic people tun on adrenaline rush. So I'm guessing that bagel felt like bb gun bullet.
I'm glad they did a reference of Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield. The crazy cameo I saw is Spider-Dinosaur. That's so weird.
Did you comment this on all of the reactions? I swear I’ve seen your comment before.
This is hands down my film of the year! Everything about it was executed amazingly! Great reaction as always

To me the first one is still better and tighter. But if the third one slaps...this will be one of the best trilogies of all time.
They have announced a delay of the release of Beyond the Spider-Verse, so it sounds like they'd rather it be late & great than quick & bad

The chase scene alone took 4 years to animate. The animators are dedicated af.
The classic spider man eventually breaks his back and becomes wheel chair bound. I'm not sure if he still takes the role of spiderman.

Aside from that, you said something important (and you said it more than once)-- "I feel seen..." i love this movie, and I love peoples reactions to it.
This is a Perfect Movie. The fact that the same team made 2 of those in a row is a miracle, but I have faith they will do it, at least one more time.
45:13 you can see Gwen start tearing up
Yeah. Miles really hurt her feelings. Even though it was her fault for betraying Miles Morales. And yes, she and the other Spider-Man will find Miles before Miguel O'hara finds him first in the third movie of Spider-Man. But I know Miles Morales will not accepting her apology.
I love that you pause to talk about scenes during your reactions.
5:25 and don't get me started on Doctor Strange and the little nerd back on Earth 19-9999
14:15 wow just realised that you can see miles from the other universe in this shot where the spider got sucked into the portal. this probably wouldve been the moment where he became spiderman.
Hobie said burn it all down!! Thats my ninja!
Speaking of 42:16 “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, if you haven’t seen the Easter egg breakdown video from the team, they added a nod to the movie which you could actually see in this video at 20:39 lol. The billboard is a play on words to the movie - including the bagel.
Lol I still remember the audible grunts when the movie ended. So many people hated the fact that it's just half a movie.
You remember what happened to Joel because of his choices right? Are you ready to embrace the metaphorical golf club too? 😂
This video improved my day. Thank you!
Watching this movie and then the drive home after leaving the movie theater was a whole different feeling lmao
"What's important is not standing by while allowing someone to suffer or die because you do nothing if you don't get that, then you don't know the first thing about being spider-man."
-spider-man edge of time
I kid you not this quote came to my head during the "intervention" scene and as a long-time spider-man fan, it made the experience of watching this movie in theaters much more epic
This is why I liked Mission Impossible so much, they told you from the trailer that it was Part One
Duh. Go back and look at the original teaser for THIS film. It told you the same thing. On screen it said Part One at the end.
@@Hibbs4Prez Bruh, that's what he's trying to say lol.
This is the last movie I remember that made my blood go cold with a reveal like that in the end
The way they referenced the video game was Crazy and I don't know if anyone's a gamer in the comments but Spider-Man 2 will be the best Spider-Man story and Video game of all time.
35:13 Hobie’s comment was great 😂 That got a big laugh when I saw it in the theater.
i just relized
most hereoes are like "i'm gonna sacrifice you to save the world"
most villians are like "i'm gonna sacrifice the world to save you"
and miguel in the movie is like "i'm gonna sacrifice you to save the world"
the motif of a hero in a villian (actually he's just an antagonist but whatever)
I'm happy we got a Mexican spiderman Miguel so fucken cool best spider man in this franchise his comic books are amazing...
Great film, great reaction.
awesome reaction!
I also thought the movie would wrap up the story. I can’t wait for the finally.
Lmao That was my exact reaction when I saw it in the movies for the first time. I was probably one of the few people out of my group that didn't know that it was gonna be a 2 parter. 😂 This was such a masterpiece, And well, worth the wait. I cannot wait for the finale.!!!!!!
This was the movie of the year, hands down.
44:56
THE GOAT SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Metro
Kingpin is the reason for all the the chaos that's in this movie. And p.s. hobie is the star lowkey
Yeah! Kingpin is the true original anomaly. Miguel O'hara should know it.
I watched it in the cinema and the cliffhanger left everyone so confused just like you, that was literally the same reaction 😭
Gwen Spidey-sense could feel Miles in Danger in another dimeson. Miles (Earth-42) dad died earlier in his life judging by how his accent is more pronounced from being more with his mom (Rio) more.
this movie was out of this world
Yeah so the lego scene was made by this kid who makes lego parody videos.
Eyo rios speech to miles hit me right behind the eyes
I see a parallel in Miles and spot with them both haveing people push them down, but while Miles just doesn’t care and sees that he’s capable how he is, spot on the other hand hears these things and let the negativity go to his head so he goes out to improve himself to prove the people wrong. More over after Peter died Gwen was scared to reveal her face and when she did she was to scared to face her dad, but at the end of the movie she can.
44:55 I love the fact that Josh Keaton reprised his role to voice Spectacular Spider-Man in the movie.
I though that was Drake Bell who voiced him in the show?
Man, I miss Spectacular Spider-Man series.😔
Something I realized is that the ending music is a mixture of Miles and Gwen with Miles theme and Gwens drums
Not to mention the drum solo at the beginning and at the end just caught the feelings of the moment very well, that I just wanna "LET'S GO GET, MILES!"
I do have a small critique to the writers that seems to be a bit of a plothole, and that's the part where "'Spider-Man' has to have the canon event".
You fucked up, Gwen, so I'm not gonna support you whatsoever (even though I'm your 'mentor'"
There was one scene where Gwen said, "Didn't you ever get close to someone?" and she said, "I did....and I got over it" She's like being cynical without being redeemable about it, or making us understand why she was cynical (okay maybe I should know Spider-Woman's story first, but still..." Yes, she fulfilled the promise that, she can't help Gwen if she wasn't able to stop Miles, but eff that!
