Paddington even had tea with the late Queen Elizabeth II to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee. The Queen even pulled an emergency marmalade sandwich from her handbag.
So, this is actually based off a series of books. My dad loved to read the books to us as kids, but it would always take twice as long as we expected because he kept laughing.
Also Speclated Bears are found in the Andes mountain's in South America including Peru which is where the Emperors New groove and its sequel Paddington in Peru are set.
I was pleasantly surprised with Paddington; I loved every funny and endearing moment of it. my one gripe was that the whole movie, in the back of my mind, I thought: “they better not have killed off the grandma; going to the old bear’s home better not be a euphemism!”
One of my favourite things about this movie is the fact that the explorer is played by Tim Downie, who is the voice actor for the wizard, Gale, in the game Baldurs Gate 3. So during the narration at the beginning I like to imagine that it’s Gale going on a adventure to darkest Peru. A bit niche, perhaps, but it tickles me.
I love these Paddington movies! I can't wait to see the third one! These movies are not what I expected at all when I first heard of them! I love when these family movies do that! Makes them all the more fun.
Such an insanely wholesome movie! I respect that it is simultaneously exploring British culture, while also making jokes about a lot of it in self-deprecating humour - certain characters are even satires on common British stereotypes. It feels very Monty Python, though with slightly less farce and much less cynicism. I see the Wes Anderson comparison with colour composition and cinematography now that you pointed it out, though I think this movie is strangely more human than his movies are usually. lol Paddington is so sweet that you just can't get mad at him for being a bit of a living natural disaster at times; besides, his clumsiness feels like genuine naivete, rather than idiocy. I also like how effectively they developed the familial relationship between Paddington and each of the Brown family members. Paddington 2 is also really brilliant; it develops the threads and a few gags from the first one, and follows fun new ones, too. And if you thought Nicole Kidman's character was a cartoon villain, wait until you see Hugh Grant, who is hilarious and absurd!
This film is close to my family because half of them are from London and they grew up watching the old show and these movies will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank u for watching it Clariss! Happy New Year! 🎊 💗🙏
If you don't mind me asking, which old show did your family watch? There are several Paddington shows, and I want to know which ones are worth watching.
I never thought I would hear any freak out in terror saying "No! Its Nicole Kidman!" It is a really sweet film. This is one of those films that just grew on over time. I liked it with my initial watch, but it took me another year or two invest rewatching it every now and then, including Paddington 2.
So delightful to visit Paddington again with Clariss! A charming movie reaction. always time to enjoy more marmalade sandwiches so as others mentioned, suggest you watch the video "Queen Elizabeth II and Paddington share love of marmalade sandwiches over Jubilee tea" 🐻
If you got a kick out of the villain being a deranged taxidermist just wait 'til you find out what the villain in the second film is. No spoilers, people.
YYYYEEEESSS. I love the Paddington movies. I can't wait for Paddington 3. These easily became my top comfort films (after Lilo & Stitch) when I watched them for the first time. I guess I just love cute and fluffy characters lol. I'm never not in the mood to watch Paddington, to be honest. I especially love it because of the soundtrack. The moments when the band of instrumentalists and the singer pass by playing a Caribbean-sounding type of music., that genre is called Calypso and originated in my home country of Trinidad and Tobago. I have always known that many Caribbean people have migrated to London but when I first saw these movies I truly didn't expect to have Calypso songs on the soundtrack. It gave me such a shock of happiness. The singer's stage name is Tobago Crusoe and the band behind him is called "D'Lime." They're from Trinidad and Tobago like me and the songs they sing also mirror the story of many Caribbean immigrants to London, like Paddington's migration story. The music is my favourite part of the Paddington films just because it reminds me of home. So, I get nostalgia, whimsy, and wholesomeness all in one movie. What's there not to like?!
A lovely man called Michael Bond wrote the original Paddington books. The first one was published in 1958. In the eighties the books were turned into a TV series, which was just beautiful! I was 10 in 1983 so Paddington means a lot to me.
I am so glad you enjoy Paddington! Besides the sequel, I must recommend these other amazing underrated family films: Mr. Magorium‘s Wonder Emporium, Baby’s Day Out, The Amazing Panda Adventure, Alaska (1996), Monkey Trouble, Born To Be Wild (1995), Nanny McPhee and Nanny McPhee Returns. 🐻👨👩👧👦👵🇬🇧🤎💛💙❤️
YEEES!!The Paddington films are some if the very few films all 5 if us at me mums can agree on we all love them 🤣. Also the security guard and rhe guild receptionist most Brits will know from Horrible Histories and Ghosts, awesome actors whatever they're in!
Hey clariss as always love your content, i have a suggestion for a movie that you should watch, "Les Misérables" (2012), because it delivers a powerful and emotionally gripping story with incredible performances from a star-studded cast, accompanied by stunning visuals and a captivating live-sung musical score that captures the raw intensity of the classic Victor Hugo novel, making for a truly immersive cinematic experience. Not enough people watch it and that is a shame because it is a work of art, please watch it youll love it
Happy New Year!🌟🎆🎇✨ Thank you for your reaction to the lovely and cute bear. One of the best stories is remind of Winnie the Pooh. Fun fact Paddington is a gold spectacled and golden spectacled are the closest living relatives of the short-faced bear
I was just about to say that 😂

@@ZukoHalliwell The one that came out in 1997. It’s called The Adventures of Paddington Bear.

You definitely need to give Paddington 2 a watch.❤
As a massive Paddington fan, it almost feels like a crime to admit my favourite character is Millicent (I am a raging lesbian for her)
