@@hlimkbafter crossing the border I had a cheap hotel in the town Sungai Kolok. I had Inter Towe Hotel. Dated but hot water, a clean bed, cool AC and a small breakfast included in the price.
Nice to see a more depth review of this jungle train by KTM. Unfortunately......sad to say toilet cleanliness is very subpar compared to other trains I've rode on.
I hope they keep the sleeper train in itself, with new carriages it should be an even better experience. I hope they do, because the trip itself is pretty sweet!
It's not going to be phased out anytime soon. Worst case is that the route would be truncated to Gemas-Tumpat. But let's hope that the Ekspres Timuran or Jungle Train is retained on it's original route from JB to Tumpat after the extension of the ETS to the South.
@@irishqueDo your homework first before commenting. ECRL is from KL to Kota Bharu. Meanwhile, Ekspres Timuran or aka Jungle Train serves JB-Tumpat and vice versa. While the railway tracks from JB to Gemas is electrified double tracked, it is not electrified for the Gemas to Tumpat sector and will not be electrified or double tracked due to geographical and environmental constraints.
I live in Indonesia and the compartment train is on top of my list already, but have to combine it with quite a few things first to make a nice trip out of it. hehe...
Thanks for the tip. I'll try and see if I can integrate this. Not all trains I take do actually have toilets, so a general cleanliness rating would be nice to have.
Seems a truly wonderful trip with tremendous views . One fine day I hope to follow your example .
If you do this trip south to north, you'll wake up with pretty decent views indeed!
Any hotel when we reach the end of the journey?

Thank you for your comment. Yeah, the toilets on this train weren't the best I've seen on my trip (you'll see in future videos soon).
Hi from Amsterdam 😊
This train is the remnant of the 80s, going to get phase out soon

Hehe.
U could see the DMU at 10:50 and google ktmb dmu ull see how modern regular komuter train in rural area is now
like a hospital bed
Semoga malaysia memesan kereta api dari king Indonesia.
Bila masa Indonesia buat kereta api?!...bukan Indonesia juga pesan dari China?! 😅
