    It sure seems like Benchmade has hit a home run with the Mini Adamas. It's such a great edc size and still extremely strong like the full size. Great video once again Triple E.

    Great video! I love the design of the Adamas. If I had a dollar for how many times I went into stores and held the regular size and never pulled the trigger on purchasing. I would always say “if only they made a mini it would be the best hard use EDC for me”. I even went as far as sending benchmade an email a few years back asking for this knife. Finally, got mine today and it couldn’t be more perfect. Size, weight, overall feel, they just nailed it. Again, best hard use EDC IMO.

    I personally love my Mini Adamas but I definitely like my M4 Freek better..the main reason I bought the Mini Adamas is because I thought the handle on the full-size Adamas looked too bulky to comfortably EDC but after getting the Mini Adamas I can help but wonder if my eyes were playing tricks on me

    • @TripleEEDC
      @TripleEEDC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree the Super Freek is a better edc. I have both versions of the full size Adamas (auto and manual) and the mini Adamas. The handle on the mini Adamas is indeed slimmer than the full size. The full size is definitely bulkier. The Cruwear Adamases were redesigned to have slimmer, less bulky handles. That means the D2 versions that were discontinued were even bulkier than the current modes which are bulkier than the mini Adamas.

      Triple E EDC yeah,I kinda wish I would’ve went with that full-size Cruwear Adamas..I love my Mini Adamas but I wish the blade was a bit thinner..I need to get the new Fact,Adamas or Presidio 2 autos.I love the fact that they open with the axis lock instead of a button.as a lefty that is very important as it makes them ambidextrous.I love automatic knives but for us lefties,we have an extremely limited number of autos to choose from.I have a few right handed autos and though they are perfectly useable,it’s pretty awkward to have to push the button on the other side with your finger instead of your thumb as they were meant for.I own 3 right handed side folding autos 1)a AUS-8 Boker Kalashnikov which I bought around 10 years ago,it was my first auto..2)a CTS-XHP Boker Kalashnikov,I bought it because it was only $60 and that’s a great price for a knife in CTS-XHP..3)a LC200N Spyderco Autonomy 2..with that being said,I have no intentions on buying anymore right handed autos which pretty much leaves me with a few different Pro-Tech models and these new ambidextrous Benchmade autos

    The size comparisons are almost useless because of the perspective distortion from the tilted camera. The Mini and full-size are really good looking. I've never held them, but it looks like they should have excellent ergonomics. The placement of the thumb ramp looks just right. I just wish the handles were a bit thinner for easier carrying.

    • @TripleEEDC

      I am not in love with the placement of the thumb ramp. I do agree that perspective distortion is an issue with my setup. Because I'm a huge Cruwear fan, I'm considering buying one, but I think I'll wait until I see if there's any complaints about it's performance. Their past performance when introducing a steel they've never used before is not stellar. That 3V fiasco is still fresh in my memory. Hopefully, they do a proper ht, and not go for that "lower hrc makes it tougher" crap they pulled on the first round of the Bailout.This full size one is to big for general edc carry, but this version definitely has my interest.

    • @Swearengen1980
      @Swearengen1980 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TripleEEDC That testing looks to be pretty negligible and not really in areas that are concerning. The DLC has less scuffing after a lot of use, but that's purely a personal preference and not a matter of "performance". Personally, I don't care if my knife looks like it actually gets used - because it does. To me, a knife always looking brand new is like me seeing these city boys with lifted 4x4's who've never even driven on a dirt road or towed a trailer.

    • @TripleEEDC
      @TripleEEDC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The axis lock on the adamas has been tested to have an average fail at over 1,600 inch lbs of torque in a soft fail. It’s also been time tested as a hard use knife. I have been critical of the older Adamas and this one isn’t perfect but it’s a damned good knife that can take a hell of a beating. The omega springs work well for a military knife because if they fail you can turn it into a fixed blade by shoving something through the axis bar hole. If any other type of lock fails, the knife is useless. Axis locks are therefore not only about omega springs but also what happens if the spring breaks.

      Not a fan of D2. Too hard to sharpen. Worst off if you completely lose the edge. CruWear an improvement and the reason why I bought this mini Adamas.
