A/C PRO: Does It Really Work? [REVIEW]

- ** TEMPORARY FIX***** lasted about a few months, as there was obviously a leak in the system somewhere.
Ironically during this hot and humid week, my A/C decided to crap out and the cold air is gone! Today, we will see if A/C PRO will do its job to get my A/C back to cold.

For you people wondering about these mystical leaks,A/C systems have rubber and metal hoses that connect the whole system together,at the end of every hose there is a "fitting" and inside these fittings are O rings, 90% of the time they will be green and or a few other colors,these o rings are designed to work under great pressure and have to be compatible with oil and Freon, over the years and mileage these o rings will start to deteriorate and you have a little leak in your hands,over time your Freon escapes and then you get that nasty "I'm hot" feeling, ever had a garden hose leaking while connected to a sprinkler etc and you tell your significant other "hey when your out, stop by the hardware store and get me one of those black o rings for my garden hose" ? same principle applies here.
Think about this,you have a hose going to your condenser and it connects to your evaporator,then the evaporator connects to your dryer assembly then from the dryer assembly you have another hose that connects to the A/C Compressor,then a hose from the compressor back to the condenser ,(might not be exactly in this order but they all connect together, trust me)
Each one of these hoses has anywhere from one to 3 o rings inside the fitting so for all you non car people out there when you hear the word "leak" and the mechanic is taking about your A/C system this is what he means and it will make it a lot easier for you to understand,now in severe cases you could have a puncture inside your evaporator (this normally sits inside your dash and a major pita to replace) or in your condenser or a gasket or oring in your compressor could be leaking but 90% of the time one of your o rings on your hoses is failing somewhere in the A/C system highway, some of these hoses have valves on them and they can leak also, guess what they have in them? yep more o rings,lol
To remedy this, your mechanic will run a dye thru the systems and where it leaks he will use a special light that makes the dye glow so he can find the leak and replace whatever o rings might be leaking, every car make is different and as fast as technology is increasing some of these things Ive said might be also slightly different but in a nutshell this is how it all works for the most part on cars, i know for someone that doesn't work on cars sometimes things and terms your mechanic throws around can be overwhelming, hope this helps.

I worked at one place they changed them for 1 lb of test Freon.Its a big money maker in a garage when you pull out their freon and add a little but you change them for whatever the system holds like 4.5lbs but you got 1.5lb of their freon
They said my evaporator was leaking and it was a 10hr job and will cost me 2 grand lol

Yes! Agitate the bottle vigorously (10 seconds) before attaching the charging hose to break the seal. The charging hose fitting will ONLY fit the small AC charging port with 'L' cap, if it fits, your are home. On the dial, rotate the dial's red line 'V' to center on the shown dial's air temp numbers. --- Good vid, Continue to rotate the bottle while charging from 12 to 9 o-clock till achieved desired dial setting. It works if you follow the instructions which you didn't do in any way shap or form also new cans don't have dial to turn
I got my 99 Camry almost 7 years ago. First summer I had my mechanic take care of the refrigerant for the AC. After several years and seeing that these days is very humid and hot in the north east coast, I went to the AutoZone nearby my place. I used the whole bottle and thank God it made just up to the green zone. I drove today and it blows really cool air so it's nice for this time of the year. I hope this ac issue doesn't come back at least until next summer.

It works
Your gauge is showing redzone which indicates the full pressure reading. Don't waste the refill if your pressure is full. You can remove the gauge before tapping the new canister in. Simply use the guage to read the pressure first as inspection. If the meter is reading as white or low pressure, follow his step to refill the gas. You car indicates the problem is not coming from refilling the gas.

In your case if the lines are leaking the freon what you gotta do is check your compressor for oil too. If your compressor is very low on oil which I'm sure it leaked it all when the ac leaked so the ac won't blow very cold. It doesn't matter how much you fill it up it won't blow ice cold air because you need to have enough oil in compressor too.
I don’t know what am I doing wrong but I can’t seem to be able to connect the gauge to the port. It doesn’t click like it’s supposed to. I have a Honda Civic. Any tips? Thanks!
I just used it to charge the AC in my 2004 Toyota Landcrusier; worked like a charm! Air is a chilly 58 at the vent. 🧣😁
I just filled my 08 Acura RL and it's blowing super cold. Super easy to use. Read the instructions and follow them. It does not fix leaks. I've done research and I still haven't found a product that fixes AC leaks. You gotta replace O rings or parts in order to make that happen.
I used this product on my 2009 Sonata. It had zero AC before and now it blows very cold and works like brand new.

I just did my 2006 Toyota Corolla. It was blowing cool on one side and warm on the drivers' side, and AC/Pro fixed the problem for me 😎😎
My AC has been dead for 3 years. The compressor would not spin with the belt. Ithought when the compressor doesnt spin then it is dead. My brother used ACPro on his car and his compressor wouldnt spin either. I thought no chance it will work and then it did work. I tried it on my car and it wirked as well. Finally, I will no longer be melting in bumper to bumper traffic. I probably have a leak but if I only have to put a $50 can of AC Pro in every summer then thats way better than getting screwed out of 1k+ from a mechanic.

I just want to add another comment to the refrigerant leaks if you've ever wondered why your refrigerator in your house doesn't require you to add freon frequently as your car it's because your house refrigerant system in your refrigerator is called a non-porous system which means all your lines are copper there solid they have no way of leaking unless you get a crack in the line your car automotive systems are designed as a porous system because your engine moves in your engine mounts things have to flex that's why you have rubber hoses After Time Freon will leak through the rubber because rubber is not a solid form like copper just in case you all wanted to know it's perfectly normal after five six years that you may need a little bit of freon

I just used it to fix my mom's car a few hours ago. It worked on her 2007 Dodge nitro. She wasn't getting cold air in. I put the AC pro in. It read the mark it was low. I added and AC air stared working.
This product is excellent but the one with digital reading it is extremely expensive, always check your pressure without can attached my pressure was a 💯 way to high I bled it to 30 pounds then the can sucked it in immediately took ,cold as you can get very happy

Fixed mine. Runs perfect now.
Had a leak at a fitting that I identified by the dye that was in the system. This was in an 02 Taurus with the DOHC Duratec engine. I noticed that after putting straight 134a refrigerant in and another brand of sealer, it only held up for about 3 months before it started to lose its ability to cool the way that it should.
I live in Florida where it's hot and humid for a good 8 months out of the year and of course requires the A/C. I didn't wait until the A/C completely lost all of its ability to cool so I didn't really need to put a vacuum on the system. If that was the case, I would have gone ahead and repaired the leak.
The system still had some pressure and 134a in it. I figured that I'd take a chance with the A/C PRO Coolant Recharge with Leak Sealer and Compressor Oil. It was a new product, so what the hell. I also bought the Recharge Hose & Gauge.
Its been over a year now and I've just now noticed that the cooling is a little off. I've decided to go and get another shot of A/C PRO's Sealer with Oil in it now since it's early June and the real heat is on its way. I was really impressed with the stuff on the first go round. It gave excellent results and I wanted to pass my experience on.
Wishing you good luck, I hope that it works as well for you as it did for me. Make sure to follow the instructions and you'll get good results if the system hasn't lost all of its 134a refrigerant. If that's happened you'll have to get the system hooked up to a vacuum pump. This will tell you how bad the leak is in the system and if you'll need to repair it.

That's a great engine. I had that same car for a year or so but it's too generic looking for me. It was a fully loaded SEL except it didn't have traction control. It's a shame they never made one in a coupe.

Yes it's a very quick fix but it does more damage than good, you have to understand unless you evacuate the system you're only putting more PSI on the high side pressure lines and now you're introducing more oil and more leak detector and sealer into the system. Just because you have a leak and you put this stuff in doesn't mean that it's doing any real good but it's doing a whole lot more in damage
If I got a really hot room I'm trying to cool down can I just spray this in the air from the can?

I drive a 12 yr old Honda CRV that has been offering me mostly warm air, sometimes cool. Paid like $25 at WalMart two days ago. Literally took me like 2 min to look for a "how to" video on YT, then maybe 3 min to actually add the freon to my car. Poof. Cold air. Why have I suffered for 3 weeks when it was this simple? Here is to hoping it is cool today and isnt leaking.
It's really easy to decide where to connect the hose to your AC ports cuz it'll only fit on one they are different sizes.

Yes you can same probloms I had hooked guage to it hundred pounds, wouldn't take in anything,purge your ac without can attached then read guage, purged min to 30 then the whole can went in, freezing
Fuckin right it works! Dealt with no AC in my 2007 silverado for 2 years(wasn't working when i got truck) the recent 90+ degree days finally made me crack today and try to do SOMETHING. I never bothered with it so didnt know if compressor or condensor was bad or if it was empty or what, no idea. I figured this was worth the $40 gamble. HELL YESS!! ICE COLD AC

Charger system, fluctuating between top of white and top of green section blowing hot air, followed the instructions to a t and I do refrigeration for a living. Im gonna have to say this stuff is hit or miss. Im not stoked spending 50 for hot air
Used this stuff in an old 96 GEO Tracker that's a hadn't worked in 4 years. It blew cold air for 2 years but now is getting a little weak, so I'm going to recharge it again. .

As a repair shop we sometimes love those cans of AC pro because sometimes the customer burns up their compressor and they come to our shops with a $1500-$3000 bill for repairs after using a can of AC pro. Sometimes they work sometimes they don’t if you’re one of the lucky ones you get cold air if you’re one of the unlucky people you’re going to mechanic with $1000-$3000 repair bill depending on your car
A/C Pro is way OVERPRICED for what you get. And it doesn't work very well. Better to pick up Walmart's 134a. A 12 oz. can is $4.88 - works great.
So first you shake the can , put the end cap and attach it to the low port , then turn the car on and turn it on full blast then go to the AC pro and basically hold the trigger for 15 second intervals until it's in the green ?

I have a 1995 Ford E-150 Conversion 5.0L V8 with "dual" air conditioner (2 fan switches on the dash). The A/C was working just fine about 3/4 years since the last professional recharge. It is not not blowing cold any longer. I very tempted to try the A/C Pro. Will it require more than on can and if it does do I need to spend another ~$30 or can I use $5.00 can of 134a and will the gauge/hose will attach to ANY can ?
Theres a one that will fix your leak and recharge your system. Also They just came out with a better ac pro. The Advanced Digital Gauge. Do research and do a video on that:).
If it gets you thru each summer for $29 pop....your doing ok. My mechanic used to charge me over $200 to charge system.
That is until the compressor seizes up, or simply gets unable to pump, because clearances increased so much due to the reduced oil return and increased wear.
This is $32.99 at WalMart. I have used the Walmart hose brand for $19.99 and it worked - twice. I bought this because I was wondering it is could seal something
Can anyone help me, 08 civic ex compressor and clutch are running, pressure is good, plenty of AC liquid, only blows cold air when i press the gas pedal but when i stop it blows regular air not cold not hot but regular! Anyone know what can be causing the problem ?

My AC has been weak since before I owned the car. I realized it's completely crapped out this summer. I bought some of this (though it was $40 for me!) and emptied the whole bottle into the low pressure port of my '99 Pontiac Grand Prix GT's air conditioning system. I could hear the compressor kick in with the new freon as I was adding it and it was blowing noticeably colder. I almost think I could have used a bottle and half of one of the smaller ones but will let the sealer do its thing for now. I may have to add more later but for the price you can't go wrong, as long as your AC system is new enough to have used 134a from the factory. Check into this first as if you have an older car you might still have R12.

A leaky system will leak all the time. If the leak is on the low pressure side the leak rate will not vary with operation. If it is on the high pressure side (compressor - evaporator) it will leak much faster when the compressor is runnin as the .the pressure is 5X higher.

If you have a leak those are useless. But if you are just running low these work great. As long as you don't over fill.
Maybe the outside dial helps, but without it, it’s 80-90 psi regardless.
i just did this to my 97 Ford ranger. Before i did it i was blowing 84 degress F. After i did it i was reading minus16 degrees F. In my opinion, totally worth the 39 bucks. We'll see how it lasts.

@leterbuck2001 More like around 40-50 degrees if it's about 90F outside. 16 below is colder than a freezer in your house.
How long did it last??
I've used AC pro in my 2003 Taurus and I used Walmart brand for 4.88 a 12 ounce can. Honestly Walmart brand is colder.

Can u plz tell me if "R-134a" same as "r1234yf? I tried on Honda CRV 2018 but not able to connect the Gauge in the first place!!! I found under the hood "r1234yf" refrigerant" to use for Honda CRV 2018!
You cannot use 134a in any vehicle that does not take 134a. You will destroy the system. The hose wouldn't fit because that's to protect the dummies from danger

If the manufacturer calls for, let's say, 1.62 lbs. and you are low on refrigerant, how much do you put in if there is still some left in the system? How do you know how much to put in?

How it do now
I have a question, I have the one with the blue Ac pro , the temperature is 40c and above. When I measure it, it is above 60 or 70 PSI, is it normal?
Keep in mind that your automotive AC will only at best blow through the vent 30° lower than what the outside temperature is.
This does work for small leaks and renews dry gaskets.
What I noticed he did not shake the can before starting the re-charge I also shook the can during the 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions 2 happy customers both women and we all know what that means 😊
Looking at this video the arrow seems to be in the red, I've purchased this product and that indicates that the product shouldn't be used. Am I looking at this wrong
That could indicate that this won't "long" term fix the problem and that it could quickly "regenerate" refrigerant in your lines, but will need to have your leak in your system Addressed.

Staggered Horizons no, that is not what the red zone means. It means you were overcharged, which will also result in warm air. The label and the company videos clearly say do not use if in the red.
This video is a disservice. You ignored the label warnings.
I mean, if I only use AC 3 months out of the year, why not do a cheap fix every year.
Because, pollution aside, over time the AC compressor wears and wears and then either stops pumping or plain seizes... no way of knowing how much oil is inside and no way of knowing how much oil is actually flowing through the system (oil circulation rate dramatically decreases as the charge weight gets lower than spec)... you surely won't get a compressor to last years and years by treating it that way...

P A yeah man. Just get the quick fix and be down with it. There’s folks that experienced the quick fix to last a couple years. It’s cheaper to spend $20 bucks every 6 months to a few years and not even miss that pocket change, instead of spending hundreds of dollars at once when you barely have the money in that moment
IMHO, if i didn't have the money to keep my AC operating in a safe condition, i would either permanently disable (unplug the clutch coil for example) or remove it. Who knows when the compressor is going to seize. For example, getting rear ended due to the engine turning off/suddenly decelerating isn't fun.
Might want to shake the can a little bit ???

They have changed over to a different pressure gauge, and ditched the movable bezel with the red lines. Not sure if that was a good move, or a money saving move on their part.

You forgot to shake the bottle up very well before you put it in above. That's maybe why it's still leaking. Or you didn't get your whole ac system checked by a Mechanic for any leaks first. Or you may have to put more in also. Just saying.

I love AC Pro I have no leaks cause I rebuilt 99.9% of my ac from condenser been replaced main ac compressor hose all been replaced and ac compressor with a good remanufactor from Ebay from a reliable company

Does this work on a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage ES
it should! give it a try, however this isn't a permanent fix, there is most likely a leak in your system, especially if your 2017 car does not have cold AC, I would honestly bring it into the dealer, that shouldn't be already from a 2017

Actually, it will plug the micro leaks that are in any system. There is no such thing as a perfectly sealed system. Over time, the amount of refrigerant in the system diminishes as it leaks out these micro holes. Molecules are, after all, very small.
The main reason to use this and other such products is not to keep you cool. The important thing is that the refrigerant contains the lubricant for your compressor. Running the ac when it is low on refrigerant will destroy the compressor. Been there, done that.
If the system has the pressure switch working correctly it will shut down the compressor as not to damaged it, according to my corner mechanic.

If your AC system is low or out of refrigerant the compressor clutch wont engage. The gauge needle will go into the red as soon as you let go of the trigger. Once there is enough refrigerant in your AC system, the compressor clutch should start kicking in. When the compressor kicks in, the gauge needle will drop, THAT'S where you want to take your reading. Once enough refrigerant is in your AC system, both your low and high gauge readings (compressor running and compressor not running) should be in the green.
I know this video is old, but instead of just adding Freon into a system with an obvious leak, you should have added the Freon that had STOP LEAK mixed in with it. one can is $12-$19. I used one can to recharge my semi truck. The Freon that was leaking on the ground, stopped leaking and my ac is cold again. I applied a second dosage of the stop leak a week later for good measures
Just tried it and it didn't work. All videos I seen said you had to adjust for temperature however mine had no temperature gauge to adjust. Just wasted $50
I can tell you what you did wrong. If your compressor is working and you recharged your system and still no cold air... you just have a leak. You should have bought a small canister of AC refrigerant WITH STOP LEAK. a can of it, without the hose is only $15. the hose itself might be like $12. I own a semi truck and it had an obvious oil leak. I saw the green Freon leaking on the ground. The shop wanted $2500 to fix my system!!! I bought two small cans of artic freeze with stop leak, for $18 each (truck stop prices are higher), and my ac is blowing cold air again and the leaking stopped. I got my friggin ac IN A SEMI TRUCK working again for less than $40. There’s no point in adding pure Freon in your system without any stop leak, otherwise you will just be wasting your money.

How long to the AC last before it went warm again?
was a nice little quick fix, however, this didn't address the problem of having a leak in my system. It last a couple months. You either have run out of refrigerant or have a leak somewhere in the system. Thanks for Watching!
Staggered Horizons based on the chemical smell in the cab of my vehicle, it’s very certain it’s in the evaporator. Not looking forward to replacing it.

very true. my previous car no one could find the leak, despite all of the tests, dyes, etc. - had to eventually replace the car because it's hot/humid here in the summer. would have taken a leaky evap any day - much cheaper to replace than an entire car. going to try this product tomorrow though, because now the replacement car is blowing warm air. / =

I used it on my car last night and IT DID NOT WORK!!! It is worse now than before. I don't think the gage on the can worked right.
