- This is the first time i am doing a engine shout out !!!!. Everybody that follows my channel knows i got mad love for the GE-90 but in this video i am showing love to all popular power plants :) !!!!. I love that sound too. You should try listening to the soloviev D-30 engines by watching a video of a Tupolev TU-154M and you will really like it.
Miss hearing it live, great vid but it's that rippling, revefberating roar you just got hear to appreciate.

I can't believe that you're asking me to choose between the RB221 and the great GE90. But, I agree with the dogs cheering for the GE90 at the end of the video.

JT8D is veeeery louder... Some 727F still fly in Brazil. When it passes (in the middle of the night, most of the time), the windows shake here in my house. It's insane...

I think the GE it´s the most quiet turbofan engine also powerful, RR sounds very good & powerful, but litlle noisy, P&W also quiet engine, in fact the JTD-8/ 727 it´s the most noisy engine, even if the change the type of engines, that remember me the noise of the Carabelle the french aircraft back in the 1955- and first flight and introduction in 1959. I love aicrafts noisy or quiet any way, the russian turbofan Illiyushin, Sukhoi and Tupolev are so special and the sound so particular, identified those brands so fast.

(Edit) there is a story behind the GE 90 and one of them is the loudest and fastest jet engine in the world

The 727 and 737 share same fuselage as 707, with slight variance in cabin dimensions.

So, I read that the C-5 Galaxy is going to be re-engined, from the TF-39 engine to the CF6 GE engines. Listening to the CF6 GE engines, I can tell you it's going to make the C-5 Galaxy a boring jet... Listen to that CF6 GE and compare it to a TF-39 engine.
