As a long-time Skid Row fan I felt so honored when I could see you with Skid Row in Spain last summer, BUT it feels much, much better to know that you took the best (and difficult) decision and we are having a healthy, strong and happy Erik. 🍻 Nicely done, sir.
Right now, Erik don't need Skid Row, but Skid Row needs Erik. No hate towards anyone, but respecting someone's health is part of being in a group, otherwise it's all just about $$$ !
Great decision, Eric. We have nothing more important than our health. Great to hear that you're making your own music again and we'll be seeing more of you on TH-cam.
Bro, you were the best thing to happen to Skid Row since Sebastian. But as you said..."Health First!" From one singer to another, I wish you nothing but the best. Here's to your continued recovery!
It’s so sad that you’re leaving Skid Row, but it would be even sadder if you left us permanently, so your choice is the right one, take care of yourself
Dude, the only thing I can say is THANK YOU. You brought back my joy of listening to Skid Row, a joy that I hadn't had since Slave to the Grind. I've been at your concert last year here in Brazil and it was awesome, great stage presence, great singing, great charisma.. you delivered everything! For all of that, and again, for bringing back my joy about Skid Row, THANK YOU. And I totally support your decision. Health first! God bless you!
I just first saw you and heard you tonight. Easter Sunday. I don't know why but I saw those 2 dots over the o in the spelling of your last name and I knew you'd probably have a good voice so I clicked it and I'm glad I did. I was wondering why you looked thin, but I could tell it wasn't drug addiction. Then I saw this. I'm sure this wasn't easy, but I see you are smart, unselfish and you don't have an ego problem. Making this decision was a huge step into recovery and you've already begun. You'll come back at your maximum health with great opportunities for a long lasting career. Being on tour is draining for even the healthiest people. You risked frying yourself to the point of not having a career within months. You lucked out for having a good head on your shoulders and your still young so your GOLD. Health is the greatest Wealth. I had to make the same decision for different reasons. If I chose the opposite I wouldn't be writing this. I have positive energy from you. You are going to be great. I don't know why I know that either. I'll keep listening for you on utube. I hope the part where I said you looked thin didn't make you feel bad or offend you. I notice things more than the average person I think. Your openess about your situation will help other people more than you probably realize especially about the part on perspective that you mentioned. Keep shining and Happy Easter.
You were the best thing that happened to skid row since Bach left. I'm glad I had the chance to see you live in Tampa. I think you're doing the right thing, health is the most important thing in life.
I am 80 years old and please forgive me just now discovered you...and my first words in head were, wow, where have I been and I said thank you Lord, for this gift...you are yes amazing
I, too, am close to your age and just discovered him through the Dan Vasc channel…I’m so glad I did because I have missed so much and am now trying hard to catch up on all he has done.
I am 65 years old and just discovered you Eric and I had to say Your voice is Amazing!!! I have difficulties with sleeping so Im surfing around TH-cam and here I am ☺️ at 03.35 in the middle of the night. Greatings from Gothenburg 🤗🇸🇪
😀 Hello my friend! I don't know why I thought I was the only new fan at my age (70) !? 😊 I discovered Erik a few weeks ago and since then I've watched, listened to, liked, and commented on everything I could. I fell in love with this extraterrestrial being ❤ even though I don't like metal and I don't know English. However, his arrangements are impressive, he really gives something new to the evergreens he re-sings. Sorry if the translation is not accurate, only google can do it! 😀
happy who saw you sing those classics live, as they deserved to be sung. You made the band breathe again. You're great Erik.. we will follow you in everything you do!
I work in the nursing field and have come to understand the importance of what a gift life is. Thank you Erik for sharing the gift of your voice, you are truly talented. Many blessings to you and your wife, family and friends that uplift you. May you continue to have an abundance of health and wellness. I lost my fiance to leukemia and it was devastating. Remember that 70-80% of immunity resides within the gut. Health comes first and foremost. Wish you continued health and peace of mind. Thank you for the music🤘💜🤘Take care of number one so you don't step in number two😄
@ Pity. I would love to hear your take on Skid Rows classic material with the band (studio version - since it was announced) Hope you gonna come back to the band sometime. I can’t see the chance that Sebastian Bach come back to Skid Row again (If they would want to have him back at all). So many singers in the band came and went. Johnny Solinger is dead, ZP Theart left…
Erik , your health is #1 priority , the music will always be here , your voice is one of a kind and a range that has no boundaries, take care of yourself; we will be here waiting ! No rush, no worries !!
Best of luck to you brother! Back in the days when you were just starting your path I was cheering for you from my home land Georgia 🇬🇪 and now I moved to Sweden 🇸🇪 so I’ll be doing the same thing from here 😄 God bless mate best of luck to you and fast recovery. You did everything right! Health do comes first otherwise there is no point in all this without it \m/
Wow Erik this video was powerful!! You’ve touched me and made me begin at 60 to start putting my health first and putting my life into perspective and I THANK YOU ❤️🙏 You’re an incredible singer and performer but an even better and wiser human being ❤️ I regret that I never got to see you perform LIVE!! I used to follow old school groupie style back in the early 80’s Skid Row touring with Bon Jovi everywhere!! I couldn’t count the times I saw them both! I look forward to hearing all of your covers, the new songs you write and listen to any and everything I can from you! You’re a real inspiration!! Congratulations on your recovery and no more MEDS 🥳🙏 Much love from Baltimore Md. lol Stay well, enjoy your freedom and continue to be healthy 🙏❤️
My wife and son and I were just at the March 18th show in Winnipeg, you guys were amazing, I never thought anyone would work vocal wise with Skid Row, you shattered expectations. After just seeing you guys and hearing this was definitely disappointing. I was looking forward to more from the whole band, you do what you have to do Eric, wish you all the best in the new material, can't wait to hear your own stuff more. You and the the rest of Skid Row definitely opened new doors for each other! Thanks for the great performances, best to you and your family.
With all that you were going through, you still made time to personally respond to comments like mine on your youtube channel. You are a class act! Thanks also for sharing that perspective you had reached. That’s inspiring stuff! Be well Erik!🙏🏻
Stay healthy man🙏👍goosebumps…I also was diagnosed cancer in 2021…I also got a second chance…health is more important than a dream job…that is absolutely true
I never followed Skid Row, so your talent is brand new to me. To be honest tho, I will be following you, and wish you all the best. You are tremendously talented !
Erik I am an RN and was so worried when you kept getting sick. Watched many of your videos and when your shingles hit I said to myself that you need to stop touring. Glad you did. WE WANT U HERE!!!!!
My dear Dad died of Acute Myeloid Leukemia on October 7th this year. I have SO much respect for you, Erik, to put your health first. Dad was too old for a bone marrow transplant, but he endured all other treatment. It's just me and my dog, Toby, now, but we are gonna kick ass out there and live for each & every day! Love & happiness to you & your family. Stay strong. xx By the way, I NEVER liked Skid Row, but I've just found you & I'm pleased you're staying around a wee bit longer for sure!
Kinda Sucks but i get it. First time skid row finds a singer that is incredible after going through a ton of them and it only lasted a year. Thanks for bringing skids back up to par and hoping your health gets better daily.
We, your fans, want nothing but you to be healthy and well. Take care of yourself and family. You have brought Skid Row back, you accomplished something deemed impossible. But you are talent made flesh, your past musical endeavors already shown that. The Grownwall Army will support you in whatever path you chose to take. Thanks for inspiring everyone with your strength, your music, in the past, present and (expectantly) in the future!!!
Hi, Erik. I don't think anyone could ever fault you for putting your health first. I saw the statements the other day (well done, btw- class act all the way), but I'm grateful that you made this video as well. I was always a little concerned for your continued health, as I watched your excellent behind the scenes videos- so glad, ultimately, that you are choosing to follow your own Do (life path). And, at the end of the day, you got to be the f'in lead singer of Skid Row as an experience! You definitely won! And perhaps, down the road, maybe you'll dust off some of those "ol' Skid Row chestnuts" and give us a "private showing" on your TH-cam channel of you singing them again?? Ah well, one can hope. Bummer I didn't get to see you live with Skid Row, but I look forward to seeing what you've got coming up next! Best of luck, happiness, and, ultimately , HEALTH for ya, Man! Take care!
Erik, you're are a warrior with a mind of steel ! Thank you for this video. Twenty years ago, I had a breast cancer no chemo, my left breast was removed. Since then, I have been living with a prothesis but I'm in life. I know the stress of waiting for mammo ultrasound and blood tests results. Just last Monday, in my right breast, they discovered a very small "tumor". The radiologist wanted me to wait four months to see if it had changed. I refused to wait and on April 2, I will do a biopsy. It may be nothing, but I want to be an actor of my health. It puts too much stress. I have lived normally these last years while not forgetting this disease. I'm going to finish my English training and after I will learn to play the guitar (electric because I like Rock musique). Music haw helped me in the past and it continues today. For the lawt year, I've been in progressive retirement, working only on Mondays and Tuesdays. How does that change life !!! Erik, every time I saw you on stage I thought about your health, baby (you could have been the son I never had). I guess you lived your dream with Skid Rowb, you brought punch to the band. But you made the right decision. Your words at the end are touching (they pulled me a taer), they are so true. Health first. Take care of yourself. Wtay strong, stay safe. With love ❤❤ I'm waiting for your book in English to buy it.
Just wondering if you'd had your biopsy done? I'll be praying for you it is good news and a benign lump! My father in law had aggressive metastatic prostate cancer, and was told 10 yrs ago, to get his affairs in order. They had one treatment left they could try, but if that failed 9like all the rest) he had probably 3 mths they said. 10 yrs later, he still has cancer, but he is not sick, he is well and is doing the most amazing work of his life, and changing peoples lives in the process.
@@krustycreme1093 Thank you for your message. The result is negative. Thank God. 🙏 I had a big scare, I was so afraid to relive the nightmare of 20 years ago. I will do a new check up in a year but I remain vigilant on everything. I keep living, this morning I went to get a guitar. I will learn to play. Of course I wouldn’t be a virtuoso like Garry Moore, John Sykes, Doug Aldrich... but it’s for fun. Being semi-retired for a year, I work two days a week. I have my free days - I am finishing my English training next month. I follow on the guitar. All these guitarists made me want to try. As I do not do things halfway , I bought an electric guitar with all the equipment (amp - headphones not to bother the neighbors...). Erik is right when he says that people are stressed, run all the time but how to do otherwise when life has not made you born into a rich family ? It is to preserve my health that I asked for my retirement but not all employers accept it. Good day and thank you for your message, it’s very nice Long life Rock and roll 🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸
Best wishes Erik! Your videos have shown how awesome yet grueling your adventures with Skid Row have been. The constant back and forth looked exhausting. Thank you for your time with Skid Row. I was able to catch you 3 times on stage with them. Looking forward to what is next for you. Rock on man!
Hey brother, I've been going through hospital stuff too. An arterial bypass being I am diabetes type 2 and still have the staples and stitches removed on April 08th 2024, My name is Paul Lawrence Johnson of Rockford Illinois. My friend you are very talented, brother. My prayers and thoughts for your healing. To thoses that down, A spirt of God i believe is healing me inside and outside , like just before surgery, i confessed to God Above and the surgical staff , that who my real blood father was. I was scared so I gave my fear to our Lord Jesus Christ. To everyone, I could've lost my left leg and foot.
You are an incredibly talented performer and it was a true highlight to have seen you perform a few times over the past couple of years. Your voice and positive perspective are truly inspiring and I have no doubt that you will be successful in whatever you choose to pursue. I hope to see you back on stage someday and wish you nothing but the best in all of your endeavors! We're Erik Grönwall fans for life!
I remember you saying that singing in Skid Row was a dream of yours. I believe your dream came true, and you have lived it to the fullest. With that said, your health is top priority. You my man are doing what is best for you and your family. My healing vibes surround you. Can't wait to hear what you do going forward. ❤️❤️❤️
So much respect! Having spent 9 months watching my husband battle Leukemia, including chemo and stem cell transplant, and ultimately losing the battle after chronic and acute bleeding in the brain, a side effect of the medication to kill the cancer cells, I applaud you for putting your health first and giving your body the time it requires to get and stay healthy. I recently saw you with Skid Row in Winnipeg and loved the show. Not knowing the history prior to the announcement that you were leaving the band, I was concerned when we heard the tour was being postponed due to health of a member but now that I understand I'm so happy you've made the decision to create a more balanced life for yourself so you can take care of your health. Best wishes for everything to come in your life.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I believe I understand to some extent what you've been through but I also know that no journey through this horrible disease is the same. I appreciate that you are sharing your story. Thank you for your understanding and support, the respect is mutual. Sending strength, power and love from Sweden!
I haven't listened to Skid Row since the 80s and no offense but I didn't even know who you were until this video popped up randomly in my feed. And I watched it. I've had cancer too, and currently going through some shit. Your perspective has just given me perspective. So thank you for sharing. What a weirdly timed random thing. You sound like an awesome dude with an intelligent and positive outlook. I wish you well.

Thank you sir! And congratulations on beating that shit!!
An old friend of mine and I were just discussing buying tickets for the Iowa show then we saw you had left. It was a bummer for sure. You absolutely made Skid Row a band I wanted to see again. But also, my mom had blood cancer. It also ruined her kidneys which I'm trying to give her. I was with her through her stem cell transplant. Brutal, so respect for surviving then thriving. I'm sure we will catch you somewhere at some point. Being self-effacing and aware how fragile and irreplaceable the part you play in the Skid Row machine is, and bowing out for the betterment of everyone involved, is just something we don't see much of anymore.
Much love to you and your wife. You are an Awesome Singer and a Beautiful Being & we want to see more of you in the future so yes, take care of you so the rest can fall into place. Big hugs from Virginia USA❤
I am soooo glad i got the opportunity to see skid row live with you last year. One of rhe few bands from my childhood i was still "missing" live. I will be forever grateful for thst experience, you were awesome!! That being said, you look much better now! Health first!! All the best for the future
I have fought cancer twice, and I have Crohn's disease. Your calling is music; Mine is animal rescue. Even fantastic and worthy journey's can be interrupted by ugly illness. It gives you tunnel vision into what is truly important.
Hello from Seattle. I'm just an old lady who loves music and honestly, I had never heard of Skid Row until today and I watched you sing. You have such amazing talent. I'm so very sorry to hear about your health challenges. You're doing the right thing by putting your health first. Please know that you and your family will remain in my prayers nightly. Bless you sweet boy.
It’s very rare in life to find people as truly open and honest about your personal life. I met you back in 2016 for the Melodic Rock fest in Melbourne and man what a sensational bloke your were! What we see on TH-cam is you in person. Was gutted when you left H.E.A.T was gutted when you had to cancel the Skid Row gigs in Melbourne but completely understand! You have probably the most amazing voice in Rock and I can’t wait to see it live again. All the best with the full recovery you handsome Man!!
Absolutely amazing man !! Full thumbs up on you !! Health and family always comes first !!! Always.. so much love from everyone ! Your voice is amazing ! I've had type 1 diabetes and on insulin pump therapy since 2005.. diagnosis when I was 13.. I'll be 49 in 2 weeks ! Life is beautiful !
You're my favourite vocalist in Skid Row since bach. You put a lot of energy back in the band. Its a shame how things have turned out, but your health is the most important thing and I wish you the best for your future endeavors and will continue to tune into your awesome covers :)
Erik, you have balls of Steel, bro. As a fan, both of you and Skid Row, I support you 100% I just had a heart attack last january and It sure made everything come into perspective and It helped me focus on what's important: health, selfrespect, knowing my own límites and sucking the marrow out of life. God bless you and thank for your talent and inspiraton.
Prayers for your continued health and well being. Although you will be missed, I know you will keep producing great music again. I would love to hear you and Dan Vasc collaborate on another song. Breaking the Silence was amazing. Best of everything to you.
Hey Erik! I met your work through Heat's fan page in Brazil from Mariana - the owner - and started listening to your work with Heat and then with Skid Row. I watched an interview from you to Loudwire - if I'm not mistaken - where you took some good minutes there talking 'bout everything you appreciate in life! From that day on I became an admirer of your personality besides talent. Massive respect for your life joyrney and PERSPECTIVE! That's smt I've also been growing and cultivating myself after a burn out and depression! So yes, thanks to some diseases, we can now live better! Who'd know right? Wish you a complete full recovery and will be sure waiting for your biography from Brazil! It will be my first!
I met you a year ago in Cincinnati & I said you made the fans proud. I meant that. And as sad as I am that you are no longer apart of the band, I am grateful for the time you gave, & above all else.... Your health matters more than ANYTHING else.
I have seen you with Skid Row in Italy last year, opening for Kiss. I didn't know you at that time, but as soon as you started singing it was absolutly mind-blowing. I remember immediatly watching my girlfriend (singer) and we were both with eyes wide open. No words to tell how well you sung there. After that concert, back at home, I searched you and find out everything you did and it's absolutly amazing. That said, it's obvious that you did an amazing job for Skid Row, and I think everybody, like absolutly everybody, want the best for you. So, whatever is your future, I hope to see you soon here in Italy on stage, of course, in health and happiness!
Thank you very much dear Erik Grönwall. Your words are wonderful and are helping me at the moment. I´m in a very difficult position and have to make a decision....with the result of more and further decisions. Sometimes there are hard times in life.
My nephew had Leukemia and went through the very same ordeal as you (road trips to the hospital for chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants) and it literally whipped him out for just over a year. How you managed to carry on in Skid Row throughout it all is freaking amazing. Best wishes on your continued recovery.
I saw you perform with Buckcherry last December in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Honestly, I took my wife to see Buckcherry and we thought Skid Row was gonna suck. Well, you came out leading the band and blew us away. Instantly, I become a fan of yours. I went and bought your CD and listen to it frequently. I was surprised to hear about you leaving the band, but I completely understand. Now, I admire your decision and will be following your channel. Finally, I want to acknowledge the guts it takes to make this decision. You, brother, truly inspire me. Keep singing and take care of your health. My wife and I will be watching you and routing for you in all your future endeavors.
Such wise words ❤ As I told you before, it takes A LOT of courage to say that you respect your health more, not many can do that. You are a role model and remind us every day how important our health and well-being are. I love your outlook on life, you have such a great mindset and I've learned a lot from you over the past few years. I'm grateful to have seen you twice with Skid Row, being the amazing frontman that you are. I look forward to whatever you have planned for the future. I have a feeling it's going to be great. I'm especially excited for you to release your own music, it's going to be amazing 🤘 And whenever you're ready to get back on stage, I'll be there. GPC rules ! Much love ! ❤
I just found you. You are the best I have ever heard. God gave you this talent to share with us. Thank you. I am 73 and love your talent. You are gifted. ❤
I have just heard today and am shattered, as I am in Melbourne Australia, and missed the show due to cancellation. Your Australian fans are really behind you and loyal, and are grateful for what you have given us over the last year. I have been a fan since day one, and have always loved your blogs, stay healthy ! I am hope you make it back here one day
Thank you dear Erik for the two amazing years with Skid Row. You were an amazing frontman. We also thank you for your honesty. You took the right decision. Can't wait for what's next. Health first!
Thanks for opening my eyes - and ears - for Skid Row again. I haven’t heard them since 1995 and began again when you joined them. And the album you recorded with the band was nothing but perfect! Thanks again 👏🏻🤘🏻
Totally amazing voice Erik. So sorry to hear of your medical issues but I can't wait to hear more covers on UTube. One door closes and another one opens. Wishing you speedy recovery from Canada.
Had the pleasure of catching you live in Paso Robles, CA with Warrant, Quiet Riot, and Winger. You did the Skid Row songs justice and the songs released on the album were great too. Be proud of all your accomplishments and I hope everything works out in the end! Thank you for the passion you brought to the Skid Row songs!
Erik-prayers for complete healing and quick recovery and nothing but mad respect for you. You were a breath of fresh air for Skid Row. Your vocal range is unreal. You are an inspiration to many out there,
Thank you, Erik, for being honest and open with us. Your talent, your voice is something extraordinary! And this is not the merit of any team: Skid Row or H.E.A.T., but only yours and God's. I look forward to new covers performed by you, and, of course, your original hits! I enjoy listening to you here and on Spotify🎵🎸🎧 Health to you and your family🩷🩷🩷
Oh man I am sorry you have had all this to deal with. I love watching you on here. So glad you made a great decision. I know you didn't mention how all this affects your family too. I look forward to see what you do in the future. You are amazingly talented!❤
My lil brother passed from Leukemia MCL 2 years ago...please take care of yourself! Prayers from Utah...Chis passed at 38, I'm 59 and buried both my little brothers in less than 3 years, last year my other lil brother died from a heart attack at 52. Take care of yourself, your much younger than either of my little brothers. Thanks for what you did for Skid Row. I saw their first tour opening for Aerosmith here in Salt Lake City.
Good choice, mate. I was a musician for a time and touring is bloody exhausting. Specially if you've got to sing, since the whole body is your instrument. Get some fatigue, alcohol or cold beverages, and say goodbye to hitting the higher notes so easily. Not to mention the food, which can be crappy more times than you expect, and sleeping on different beds, which can lead you to shitty nights, etc. Good call if you're not 100%.
You brought Skid Row back to life brother. I had the privilege of watching you perform live in North Carolina. You are an amazing singer. Thank you for keeping the band and good music alive. Wish you the very best.
I am very sad that you are leaving. You were and will always be the best vocalist since Sebastian. However, your health definitely comes first. Maybe someday when you are better you can reunite. Please take care of yours of and that beautiful voice!❤️❤️
Thank you! I am so glad I at least got to watch you with Skid Row twice and even meet you. No matter what journey you go on you go on I will be there to support you. Can't wait to see where this new chapter of yours brings and what amazing new music will come out of it.
Looking forward to see more of you Also want to thank you, your story, being so open over your battle with cancer has been helping me with my battle. I had trouble opening up to new people and letting people into my heart. That is changing since i have been a member here, and although i have had my feeling hurt it made me feel more alive inside. Thank you Also want to thank the GPC for becoming my 2th family, although i have moments were i am quiet and not posting and reading much, you still make me feel i have a place where i belong. I will be a fan for life, i have so much respect for you Erik, for how you conquer live, how you treath your fans and all your hard work to make us happy with your voice/music ❤🤘🖤
You make us happy too Erik! I couldn't help being surprised when I read about all these older people, late 70's, and 80's, commenting again & again, that they love your sound! I just found you accidentally, and I can't wait to share your music with our metal/rocker youngest son! I won't be surprised if he's already a fan! My Swedish husband and I, living in the U.S., are part of that older generation and we love your voice. You have an amazing talent and your voice is liquid gold! It can be the sound of a whisper, clear as a bell, or raw. You nail the high notes every time! Love your interpretation of music. I'm happy you found perspective at such a young age. Most people never get that gift. Be well. Be happy. Be creative! Looking forward to hearing more from you! Know you've got fans of all ages!
I have to tell You, Erik, that it's been a really long time since anyone has interested me in his personality as much as You. I've always functioned more as a musician than a fan. But You have done this to such an extent that I regularly follow Your media. (And I don't usually do it to this extent - although I admire the talent of many musicians.) In Your case - I like to visit Your channels - as a fan! So... You made a solid impression on me.😎😊 I wrote an extensive comment under Your last statement, which I started with the words: "You have no idea how much You impressed me with Your personality once again. I correctly assumed that You had exceptionally well-organized Priorities." Once again You have incredibly impressed me by Yourself - thanks to the decision You made. This is the honest truth. When I first heard You sing, I said: "Wow, what a phenomenal voice and an amazing singer. How much this guy can do! What powerful vocal skills he has." I became interested in who Erik Grönwall is. And this way - I had the pleasure of getting to know not only how You sing, but also how You- think. Reading and watching what You published, I was convinced of my assumption: "This guy has exceptionally well-organized Priorities, he exactly knows who He is and what is really important in life. Wise man." And that's what got me curious. This is how Successful people and Champions think❗ That's why I know You will go very far and achieve amazing things❗ I'm sure of it‼️ As I wrote to You in a previous comment - not everyone realizes how difficult is such important decision You have made is. Everything You discuss in this video is a real dilemma for a singer faced with this choice. I went through the exact same topic many years ago for the same reasons. Even if You know perfectly well that it's the right decision - it still has its price. This is hard - even if it's right. You need to have a very strong character to be able to step aside (even if temporarily) from Your beloved dream - in favor of what You believe in and being true to Yourself. But I can tell You: because You are able to choose something so valuable and precious- incredibly wonderful opportunities will open up to You, so unbelievable and amazing that You will be surprised and shocked at how wonderfully everything is working out‼️ I'm 1000% sure of this. I'm becoming more and more convinced that I want to meet You in person someday. You are very interesting person Erik. And You have class! Btw I'm absolutely sure that I'm going to sing with You.😉 Of course, if You would do me the honor. Btw. Your decision is right and really good! I say this as a singer. To sing and perform, You need to have a lot of Energy and Power. If You do it at the expense of Your health, You will lose much more valuable values. What is much more important is who You are, how You live, Your life and those You love. As I said earlier: Your name is already a Legendary brand and You will realize all Your Dreams on Your own terms! Best Wishes for You Erik❣💖
I just watched your Q&A from January and now this. I though you were just stepping away to focus on your health. Being a cancer survivor (warrior) myself, I applaud your decision. Your health is way more important. Skid Row is one of the bands from my 20's that i loved along with Ratt, VH, Crüe, Cinderella, Whitesnake, among others. I didn't pay much attention to Skid Row music during the other lead singer years post SB. When i first heard you as their lead, i didn't know what you were going thru health wise. You really knocked all the Skid Row songs out of the park. Love your voice and since finding your blog videos, you're also an incredible person. New fan and subscriber. I wish you the best in your continued recovery and look forward to new music and covers from you in the future. 🤘
I saw this story on Google. Sad to see you won't be in the band anymore. I never got to come out and see you with the band. With that said, I am glad you know your health is your number one priority. Who knows, maybe you will reunite with them after you are in a better spot. Be well and take care.
Good call, Erik! Hope this makes a real difference for your recovery 🙌 Looking forward to the book and new your music! You’ll do great whatever you do, of that I’m sure 🙂
I have Mitochondrial myopathy and it makes me really tired and my immune system weak as well. I had to step back and sit out of a lot of things. God bless you Erik and everyone. Keep well
Never ever feel bad for putting your health first Eric. I have had 5 genetic heart attacks and 3 cardiac arrests. I beat Stage 3 breast cancer 12 years with no chemo, and I have had a rare blood cancer for 4 1/2 years with no chemo. Worst of all though, the last time I went into cardiac arrest in the intensive care unit, they gave me covid, I was in the covid unit for 8 days, it attacked my heart and gastrointestinal system. I had to go home with 3 months of in home care I was almost too weak to stand up from a chair. Unfortunately it turned into long haul covid, with zero help or answers. I have been fighting for my life every day for 22 months. Dont ever let things get to the point where I am at, just existing… not living. Once you have had cancer, your body will never be the same. I am incredibly proud of you for recognizing that living the life of a touring rock star, was absolutely not good for your health, and walking away. I can’t imagine how difficult that decision must have been. We, your fans, want to hear you sing for a very long time. We won’t abandon you. I believe in you, fan for life, and I cant wait to see what is next for you Eric!! Two bits of wisdom, “when one door closes, another opens”, and, “you can’t serve from an empty bowl”. Sending you much love
Praying for your good health 🙏 Continue to keep healthy and we all need you to listens to your great powerful voice ❤ You're an amazing singer and thank you for sharing your great voice❤
Best of luck Erik. Loved you in HEAT. enjoyed seeing you with Skid Row, you brought new life to them. I did wonder when you joined if it was too much, too soon. Look forward to hearing what you do next.
Seems to be a mutual parting. I hope it ended on mutual respect. You are the only one who could make Skid Row sound like Skid Row again. Thank you for that. Keep your covers coming. Hope to hear some originals again. Keep up ur health young man! Proud of you.
Erik, you have done something to Skid Row that i never though could be done which is bring them back to life. They have had many great singers since Sebastian that just didnt fit like you did. Me and my wife are both 54 and go to a ton of shows and we both agree that seeing you in Pittsburgh front row center was the BEST time we have ever experienced at a concert. You nailed every single note of every song like the cd was playing. You blew our minds!! I love your work in H.E.AT and cant wait to hear what the future holds for you!! Stay healthy and please never stop rocking!! 🤘🤘🤘
Heeey Erik ! You have done a truly great job with Skid Row, a real and the only true resurrection of that great band, got the cd and the live package too (twice :)), it will be hard to match those studio and live performance, you are really good, just find another great band of the early 90s and burn the stages keeping your health at best, THANK YOU for being in Skid Row too !!!
As a long-time Skid Row fan I felt so honored when I could see you with Skid Row in Spain last summer, BUT it feels much, much better to know that you took the best (and difficult) decision and we are having a healthy, strong and happy Erik. 🍻 Nicely done, sir.
From an outsider - Skid Row need to realise that you revitalised them. BUT YOUR HEALTH is the most important thing. STAY WELL.
I agree. but health is first.
Right now, Erik don't need Skid Row, but Skid Row needs Erik. No hate towards anyone, but respecting someone's health is part of being in a group, otherwise it's all just about $$$ !
@@jacktihs2963oh shut up, Dr Phil
You think they don’t know that?
AMEN TO THAT 🙏🤘🖤🤘🙏
Great decision, Eric. We have nothing more important than our health. Great to hear that you're making your own music again and we'll be seeing more of you on TH-cam.
Bro, you were the best thing to happen to Skid Row since Sebastian. But as you said..."Health First!"
From one singer to another, I wish you nothing but the best. Here's to your continued recovery!
He's like the punker darker skinnier beltier version of sebastian. I hope that steel in his voice resides with him in his days of illness.
@@michaelvaughn64 well said !!!
It’s so sad that you’re leaving Skid Row, but it would be even sadder if you left us permanently, so your choice is the right one, take care of yourself
That's super beautiful
So well said.
Thank you for your time in Skid Row. I'm looking forward to all the amazing music from you in the future. Wishing you much love and health.
I’m not a fan of Skid Row but I’m now your fan. I wish you well and I’m looking forward to hearing you sing again.
I also just discovered him! What an amazing voice he has!!!
I, too, am close to your age and just discovered him through the Dan Vasc channel…I’m so glad I did because I have missed so much and am now trying hard to catch up on all he has done.
Yeah, three days for me but I am just a baby at 64.
Hello my friend! I don't know why I thought I was the only new fan at my age (70) !? 😊
I discovered Erik a few weeks ago and since then I've watched, listened to, liked, and commented on everything I could. I fell in love with this extraterrestrial being ❤ even though I don't like metal and I don't know English. However, his arrangements are impressive, he really gives something new to the evergreens he re-sings.
Sorry if the translation is not accurate, only google can do it! 😀
Your health comes first. End of story.
Come on Erik! You have already given us many good moments! Be fully healed! We love the way you sing!
Dude you do you stay healthy can't wait for you new music
Try as hard as you can to embrace that gratitude reminder daily. Not everyone gets that wake up call.
We love ya my friend prayers are coming your way
happy who saw you sing those classics live, as they deserved to be sung.
Thank you for the music🤘💜🤘Take care of number one so you don't step in number two😄
my condolences for losing your fiance.
Take care of your health Erik and thank for the great music you gave us during your tenure in the Skids.
You’ve touched me and made me begin at 60 to start putting my health first and putting my life into perspective and I THANK YOU ❤️🙏
You’re an incredible singer and performer but an even better and wiser human being ❤️ I regret that I never got to see you perform LIVE!! Congratulations on your recovery and no more MEDS 🥳🙏
Much love from Baltimore Md. lol
Stay well, enjoy your freedom and continue to be healthy 🙏❤️
Eric was traveling internationally, so I'm quite sure he was forced to take the jab. That explains a lot.
I am deeply sorry for your loss. You have my sincere condolences.
Kinda Sucks but i get it. First time skid row finds a singer that is incredible after going through a ton of them and it only lasted a year. Thanks for bringing skids back up to par and hoping your health gets better daily.
Thanks for all that u did to Skid Row, you rock my friend!
Your health is most important! Love your music and will listen to you sing wherever you sing.
With love ❤❤
I'm waiting for your book in English to buy it.
Thank God. 🙏
I had a big scare, I was so afraid to relive the nightmare of 20 years ago.
Good day and thank you for your message, it’s very nice
Long life Rock and roll 🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸
Thank you dear!
I was lucky enough to see you in Soo Michigan. Amazing show. Thanks for the memory!
Thank you for your time in the band. Best of luck on your new endeavours. We’ll keep cheering for you 🤘🏻❤️
You're my favourite vocalist in Skid Row since bach.
Sometimes there are hard times in life.
wish you all the best, mate. you were super great in Skid Row.
God Bless You
My nephew had Leukemia and went through the very same ordeal as you (road trips to the hospital for chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants) and it literally whipped him out for just over a year. How you managed to carry on in Skid Row throughout it all is freaking amazing. Best wishes on your continued recovery.
Very wise words about the illness! I am so happy you're healthy! Best singer ever! God bless mate!
Love to you from Canada . Keep fighting and stay strong.
Best Health and Love to you my friend, love you from WV. USA
Beautiful voice, beautiful soul, beautiful journey! Bless you. Kelly
Warm thoughts for you and your tribe during this challenging time. Forward warrior. You know what’s best for you. Love & light.
Regards,
INFJ Chick
Thank you 🙏🏻
Erik-prayers for complete healing and quick recovery and nothing but mad respect for you. You were a breath of fresh air for Skid Row. Your vocal range is unreal. You are an inspiration to many out there,
Cuida da saúde Erik. Quando estiver 100% volte para as Worlds Tour. God bless you. 🙏🇧🇷
Thank you, Erik, for being honest and open with us. Your talent, your voice is something extraordinary! And this is not the merit of any team: Skid Row or H.E.A.T., but only yours and God's.
I look forward to new covers performed by you, and, of course, your original hits! I enjoy listening to you here and on Spotify🎵🎸🎧
Health to you and your family🩷🩷🩷
🙏🏻🖤 my condolences Mark!
Your selflessness is awesome. May God bless you with your health! Prayers for you 🙏🏼
Looking forward to see more of you
Also want to thank you, your story, being so open over your battle with cancer has been helping me with my battle. I had trouble opening up to new people and letting people into my heart. That is changing since i have been a member here, and although i have had my feeling hurt it made me feel more alive inside. Thank you
Also want to thank the GPC for becoming my 2th family, although i have moments were i am quiet and not posting and reading much, you still make me feel i have a place where i belong.
I will be a fan for life, i have so much respect for you Erik, for how you conquer live, how you treath your fans and all your hard work to make us happy with your voice/music
❤🤘🖤
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I have to tell You, Erik, that it's been a really long time since anyone has interested me in his personality as much as You.
I've always functioned more as a musician than a fan.
But You have done this to such an extent that I regularly follow Your media.
(And I don't usually do it to this extent - although I admire the talent of many musicians.)
In Your case - I like to visit Your channels - as a fan!
So... You made a solid impression on me.😎😊
I wrote an extensive comment under Your last statement, which I started with the words: "You have no idea how much You impressed me with Your personality once again. I correctly assumed that You had exceptionally well-organized Priorities."
Once again You have incredibly impressed me by Yourself - thanks to the decision You made.
This is the honest truth.
When I first heard You sing, I said:
"Wow, what a phenomenal voice and an amazing singer.
How much this guy can do!
What powerful vocal skills he has."
I became interested in who Erik Grönwall is.
And this way - I had the pleasure of getting to know not only how You sing, but also how You- think.
Reading and watching what You published, I was convinced of my assumption:
"This guy has exceptionally well-organized Priorities, he exactly knows who He is and what is really important in life. Wise man."
And that's what got me curious.
This is how Successful people and Champions think❗
That's why I know You will go very far and achieve amazing things❗
I'm sure of it‼️
As I wrote to You in a previous comment - not everyone realizes how difficult is such important decision You have made is.
But I can tell You: because You are able to choose something so valuable and precious- incredibly wonderful opportunities will open up to You, so unbelievable and amazing that You will be surprised and shocked at how wonderfully everything is working out‼️
I'm 1000% sure of this.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that I want to meet You in person someday.
You are very interesting person Erik.
And You have class!
Btw I'm absolutely sure that I'm going to sing with You.😉
Of course, if You would do me the honor.
Btw.
Your decision is right and really good!
I say this as a singer.
To sing and perform, You need to have a lot of Energy and Power.
If You do it at the expense of Your health, You will lose much more valuable values.
What is much more important is who You are, how You live, Your life and those You love.
As I said earlier:
Your name is already a Legendary brand and You will realize all Your Dreams on Your own terms!
Best Wishes for You Erik❣💖
❤
🙏🏻🤘🏻 thanks Scot
I’m so glad to have found your music. Hearing your story makes me enjoy this journey more. Good job you!
Iam so sad 😢..Keep fightning Erik 😢
I saw this story on Google. Sad to see you won't be in the band anymore. I never got to come out and see you with the band. With that said, I am glad you know your health is your number one priority. Who knows, maybe you will reunite with them after you are in a better spot. Be well and take care.
Здоровья, здоровья и еще раз здоровья. Ангела-хранителя за спиной.
I Love your music, I love your voice! Wherever you decide to do, I’m with you! Rock on!!
Good call, Erik! Hope this makes a real difference for your recovery 🙌
Looking forward to the book and new your music!
What a fighter you are💪😀👍
Very impressive comment. Thanks for sharing. All the best for you!!!

@@dragonlea13979 Stay strong like you always have been. You can do it. My thoughts are with you. Get well soon. Greetings from Germany.
Praying for your good health 🙏 Continue to keep healthy and we all need you to listens to your great powerful voice ❤ You're an amazing singer and thank you for sharing your great voice❤
Perspective! Many need that experience! Good for you and lots of positive energy your way!
Stay strong, rise above. Looking forward to the new music when it comes
