Chris adds something tangible to the vocals of this classic iconic tune! It may be as simple as Chris has the best voice for Rock, Country, Blues, Soul, and Pop that I have ever heard in my nearly 62 years!

Chris killed this song. Was always a huge Southern Rock fan , and it endears Chris to me more, when he performs music by the Allman Bros. or Lynyrd Skynyrd. Especially since Chris wasn't born until 1978, well after those two bands had peaked. And yet he sounds like he would have fit right in either group. Of course, others might not agree , but I actually prefer when Chris performs songs that would be classified as "rock".

I agree with you Pat. Nothing like Greg Allman vocals. I really like Chris Stapleton but if this cover entices folks to check out the Allman Brothers Band and Greg Allman’s solo music, that’s a move they won’t ever regret or forget. 🔊

I listened to the Allman Brothers live version and I think Chris is the better live singer.
You should react to Zac Brown Band. Their best song in my opinion is Colder Weather. They are known for their great harmony and vocals and I think you would enjoy it
It's a great job...frankly I prefer Stapleton to Gregg Allman on vocals on this song. Takes nothing away from Allman's vocals, simply a matter of what evokes the "pull to the song" for me. Personal interpretation and as a song "stylist" (if that's appropriate here), I always am engaged with Stapleton's voice. ✌

As big of a fan of Chris Stapleton, even his tremendous voice doesn't compare to the Late GREAT Gregg Allman.....Greg's voice is so unique not even Chris did this song justice.
Jason Isbell covers it better! Give it a try, his guitarist goes off... I love Chris but Jason does this one better
