One of my NY resolutions is to keep on top of my sinking fund. All too often annual bills just creep up on me and I put it on credit. Thanks for this video.
I have a bunch of health issues and have to take medication and supplements (like Imodium, iron, b12 and b1). That can totally blow my budget depending on sales I don't want to miss, and on how much cheaper it is per dose to buy in bulk ($30/6 mos instead of $150? Sign me up!). Plus some bottles have 60 pills and some (like melatonin) may have 365 pills and I only take half a pill a day! It's really irregular and hard for me to plan for without spending a ton of time on it. I spent like $80+ bucks this month on a very low income. So I just set up a sinking fund for meds like that. I hope it will be under $40/mo. I feel a lot better about it now.
Love your videos!! We are starting our Dave Ramsey journey next month! Was curious, should we have sinking funds while in Baby step #2? Or should all extra money go to debt after we complete baby step #1?
New follower here. Which kind of Erin Condren planner is this with the columns? I've heard of her items, but never purchased them before and I really like your layout! another question: do you set these up in December of the prior year? If you have bills that are in different months, do you have up for the first event of the total sinking fund first, then second, then third? Or do you save as much as you can in the first few months? I have a few sinking funds set up, but since things change or pop up, I'm not sure how to make sure that I have money in there for when/if it happens. Thanks! I love your channel!
I made the columns with thin washi sticker strips. I used a basic lined page EC Notebook. Typically I would set up sinking funds in December to get ready for the following year
Ohhh! So you aren't using a planner for this one? I'm new to planner stuff, and I was trying to google different products of hers on lunch and wasn't sure what the best fit is for me. I have a set schedule and do budgeting and ya know, the typical laundry, dr apt, etc. Is there one you'd recommends? By the way, your handwriting makes me so happy, haha! I wish mine was that pretty!
I have a few different bank accounts. My sinking funds are in a separate checking account and I pay those bills wither from that account, or I transfer the funds (depending on the circumstance) - Hope this helps :)
My thoughts are extremely biased... I am used to a BIG city (Minneapolis/St.Paul) so moving to Fargo, ND was a complete culture shock. Everyone is waaaaaaaay too friendly and that kinda freaked me out for the first 6 months. I go back to Minneapolis every chance I get. Also the shopping is atrocious in ND. So Amazon prime is my best friend 🙋🏻
Once you sign up on ErinCondren.com sometimes it takes a little bit to get your coupon code emailed to you. Check your spam or trash file in your email? If you have already done than and it's been a few hours since you've signed up, I would call EC customer service and they should be able to help you or resend the code. Happy Shopping
Your system seems nice and organized for you but a bit cumbersome for me. Also, you explain things well but for me way too much talking. Sorry. Otherwise you seem to be doing a super job!

As a courtesy, one should always gift the person/people that you are staying with. It's the way I always say thank you :)
I have kept a notebook of my monthly expenses for a few years. It's been a wonderful tool. I'm really enjoying your videos, :)

Where do you put your sinking funds? Do you have one account for all or do you have a couple of different accounts?

Omg! Fellow Fargo girl!! I live downtown!
can you please make a video for beginners?
What type of beginner video are you interested in? Thanks for watching!
How do you like North Dakota compared to Minnesota. I have family in Minnesota and think it is beautiful. Just wandering your
thoughts. Thanks
