Just come from watching Avengers Endgame. What a ride this past few years has been. Was watching this video earlier for the nostalgia and can say there has been no disappointment with any of these movies. R.i.p. Jon Schnepp
I was 13 when this happened. I'm almost 22 now and it's wild to be on the other side of this. I loved this show, I love everyone on it, and I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I hate you guys you sold your souls the moment your sat at the Amc movie talk table. Now you just like them some Kevin Feige groupies and Marvel fanboys
Ken djunga You hate us? Geez, that's some serious anger guy. To "hate" people because they are excited about upcoming movies. Both Mark and myself made it clear that it is an exciting time in general to be a fan of Comic Book Movies in general. I also made it pretty damn clear that I am really excited to see what DC is about to do and Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman need to deliver. I will just say if you hate people over opinions, you need to enjoy life a little better brotherman. -KH
schmoesknow Excellent response Kristian. Always keeping it classy, or at least as classy as a schmoe can keep it. I'll go one step further on your original comment. It is so much fun to be a Movie fan right now. All the things coming from DC and Marvel and FOX and Sony, PLUS Star Wars! Incredible!!
I'm sorry Kristian I was just very upset about the whole "an hour long show for Marvel".My emotions took the best of me I certainly don't Hate you guys I'v been a fan since day one and I will always support you and Mark even if he is the president of the "we hate Man of Steel Club" Ps: sorry for my English I'm a french speaker
Ken djunga dude it is not a competition and no one "sold" to anyone, I'm personally happy because both shows get richer with the sharing of opinions, there's no exclusivity here, just passion for movies
Whether you like Marvel or DC, this is just a good time to be a comic book fan. We are getting almost 20 movies from both companies in the next five years, that's insane!
It’s amazing and so weird coming back and watching this after so much has happened both with the MCU and fandom in general, as well as with this panel.Wow. This was when I discovered these guys. Jon, Schnep ❤️💔❤️💔, Ellis, Haroloff, Amirose, Sinead and all of them. It was the fall semester of my sophomore year in college, ugh such simpler times. Feeling a little nostalgic.
Paully808 Same dude, I remember watching this in High School. Now I’m in my 3rd year of college about being to get my degree. It’s a weird feeling of nostalgia.
@Oliver ClothesOff WTF is wrong with you? WHY would you be happy he's gone? He was an awesome and amazing guy, did wonders not only for the comic book creators and community, he shared his passions, told others to share theirs and more? Aww what, you didn't like a movie he did, or vice versa? And you're butt-hurt over it? If what sadly happened to him, happens to you & your family 1000-fold, good! You're a disgrace of a human being.
Crazy how it's been 6 years since this was uploaded. I remember waiting up all night waiting with anticipation for the crews thoughts. I miss the good old AMC Movie Talk days. Collider was good from '15 - '17 but AMC days were awesome.💯
I think you guys should talk about the DC movies for an hour as well since you only gave that topic 15 minutes of discussion on the day the big news was dropped. I think it deserves some more discussion honestly
To be honest, there's simply not an hour worth of news there. And just to clarify, I like DC as well, TDK trilogy is one of my all time favorites. But you have to use common sense, besides the reason that John already explained at the beginning of this episode, the DC lineup gives no information on the storylines so therefore there's not much to talk about. This Marvel news gives many plot points with the subtitles to a movie universe that's already been going since 2008, and shows how much it's going to be effected. The whole stupid Marvel vs DC fan war aside, this news absolutely deserved this dedicated show as how major it was, the DC movie slate that we currently know about, does not. It's that simple.
***** I agree with you. Marvel gave us tagline for the movies, which can fuel plot discussion, DC just gave us names. If DC called it, Justice League: Darkseid War Green Lantern: Rise of Sinestro Aquaman: Throne of Atlantis THEN, we could talk, but right now, they're just names and vague dates.
For all the people saying they should discuss DC for one hour what's there to discuss? Marvel has a well established Universe built over the course of 6 years. They've given set interviews with the stars of Age of Ultron. They've explained the direction they are going with in each of the new solo movies that were announced. They've revealed who the Final Villain will be in the conclusion to Phase 1,2&3. They've revealed plot details for Captain America: Civil War. DC released a list of 11 movies.
So if we already know every thing why do we need a 1 hour show lol? Im a fan of Marvel and will see all of these movies but Im also going to see all of the DC movies. As a fan of this show I would have liked to watched a DC show with the cast giving their opinions. This is why we watch the show; agree with their opinions or not we want to hear their opinions. The time has passed so its no big deal to me but I can see why DC fan boys would think its a bias.
True, DC is probably about 3 years away from being able to do something similar. It's takes time and a few films to build that up first. This didn't come overnight for Marvel by no means, it took years to build this cinematic universe up and now it's flourishing. It takes time, patience, commitment, a plan and a vision which Marvel has amazingly displayed, hopefully DC stays the course and can do the same thing.
May I just say that this was the very first thing that I saw Jon Schnepp in. Ever since, he has been in my life so much I almost feel as if he was a friend. May he rest in peace. He will be missed by so many of us "sweaties."
This was the first episode I ever watched, I was so excited when that announcement came out and I went looking for someone talking about it and still watch on collider and schmoes today!
Watching this after almost ten years on April 4, 2024. Missing the good old days and Schnepp. Also, I wish Campea and Schnepp were right about Batman v Superman on 01:00:55... I actually quite enjoyed the film. Aaaah, and if I could only teleport to that table back in 2014 and tell them how good were Civil War, Ragnarok and Avengers 3 and 4!
20 years no 30 years from now i will be able to look back and say i was there for the beginning of the great Comic Cinema wars. I have a feeling the next 6 years will be the beginning of a new era. DC VS Marvel is gonna take over the Cinematic age. This is going to be marvelous.
In terms of Phase 4, I think its one of 2 options: 1. Secret Wars - they go full on cosmic and mash every character together in an entire Phase dedicated to the Secret Wars and each characters approach to it. 2. Return to Street Level - Give movies to the likes of Daredevil, Punisher, Ghost Rider, a hopefully newly acquired Spider-Man, a Hulk sequel maybe and possibly even one last Iron Man film where we finally see him fight the real Mandarin, in order to contrast the previous huge Infinity War setting and remind the audience of some sense of scale.
that would have been too much to handle ....its mind blowing how Marvel is reaching into our pockets and we are only telling them stop because they werent taking enuff money at the time..."hey Kevin...here's 20 more bucks...have a nice day" lol
Just look at this simple comparison: DC SDCC 2014: 3 leading stars of their new DCCU appear, stand there like statues and smile for the camera and a selfie. Marvel event yesterday: 2 leading male stars being kind of in character, actually performing for their fans and introduce the newbie while setting up the tone for the major events. Marvel really respect their fans, they make us feel like a part of this universe. So don't be surprised why there are so many Marvel "fanboys".
No offence but I never heard of Chadwick Boseman until the announcement of Black Panther :( So I'm happy that so many people are happy with this casting.
Once of the things i loved the most about Black Panther is that one of the MAIN reasons he joined The Avengers was so that he could keep tabs on them and make sure that they weren't a threat to him or Wakanda. Pure Bad Ass.
Ok, for those complaining that they didn’t dedicate as much time to DC as they did to Marvel, there are two reasons for it: 1- What John already explained many times: the news came out when they had the whole show already planned 2- Look, I love both Marvel and DC. I want them both to be great. But the fact is there’s more to talk about when it comes to Marvel’s announcement. With DC’s announcement, all we had was dates and titles (and a casting announcement). We have no idea what storylines they’re going to use or how they are going to connect the movies. I have no doubt that they have a plan, but we just don’t know it yet. With Marvel, we had dates, names, a casting announcement, images and storylines to talk about. They can talk about Civil War, Infinity War, Ragnarok, how the other movies will connect to those and so forth. Do you know the storyline DC is going to use in the Justice League movies? No. Do you know the exact story they are going to tell in Batman v Superman? No. Same goes for all the other movies. I love both. I want them both to succeed. I believe that success on both sides is good for both sides (and for Fox and Sony too). It’s just that, right now, we know more about Marvel’s upcoming movies than about DC’s. That’s all.
I just watched the show that was taped one year ago today. When John said they would never make a Marvel Civil War movie. Wow what a difference one year makes.
LET THE CONFLICT END. Marvel Nerds, DC Nerds, you are all sweaty. The war for supremacy between the comic book houses should mean only one thing. We all win. We ALL win.
oooSKYLIGHTooo You are right sir all of us comic fans win.I dont get all the hate between marvel and dc there both cool i just want to see a damn good comicbook movie.
@48:20 The 1980s Thor Series is AWESOME...Starts with Beta Ray Bill in space, and the return of Balder the Brave to Asgard...And a MASSIVE battle on earth with most of earths heroes teaming up with Asgardians...very cool stuff....
I honestly hope this show gets a bigger fan base because they do a great service to the fanbase and they are spot on in their analysis and reports. Brilliant point about the worth of Kevin Feige! Keep it up, AMC!
Oh my god NOT AGAIN. I read comics, both Marvel and DC, but I don't consider myself a huge comic book nerd or anything. What really saddens me is that I'm negatively associated with all of these PATHETIC Marvel vs DC nerds who rant about one company thinking their opinions matter. All of these people saying "Oh DC has no showmanship and don't plan anything." How do you know this? Because they announce 10 movies at a stockholder meeting? Do they have to announce all of this at a huge comic con? If marvel announced ALL of these movies at a shareholder meeting at Disney, then people would be saying "oh they don't plan anything and have no showmanship BOOOOO". Do all of you people work with Goyer and Snyder and know all of DCs plans? You rant in these comments even though most of your "no planning" arguments make no sense. Unless you work in Warner Bros and talk to the guys there don't say shit. And the DC fans who are trying so hard to bash on Marvel fans...stop. Please. There is no point pointing out all the flaws in the MCU. Just keep quiet and trust WB. They actually might have planned everything, and all the shit the Marvel fanboys are saying has no proof behind it. I love to have intelligent conversations about comics with people, but these comments are full of "DC is rushing" or "Marvel has NOTHING on DC's tv shows". I know this is a rant, which it is. All I'm saying is that there is absolutely no point to this war, because in the end none of it matters. We all get like 30 comic book movies by 2020. Some may be bad, some may be good, but when did anyone ever think that we were getting over 30 comic book movies in 6 years? This war just ruins it for everyone and takes the fun out of these great films. Sheesh.
HAPPY 6TH ANNIVERSARY OF THIS EPIC, AWESOME AND CLASSIC Episode w/ 4 of the best in the Biz! And of course remembering the icon and legend, the late great, King of The Sweaties, Jon Schnepp, his knowledge, love and excitement!
10:28 man too foreboding, mark is joking about surviving here, little did we know one of these guys actually wasn't going to make it to the Endgame... RIP
Mark Ellis can never be so foreboding at 10:25. MCU Phase 3 timeline is so long you cant be sure to still be around, and now we lost our sweatiest beloved in this panel to join us finish the ride. RIP Schnepp
Remove Sinister 6 and Boycott that crap. Well that's my opinion at least because the last movie sucked and I would rather it go back to marvel. I love Spiderman but Fox has ruined my interest in their current Spiderman universe. Edit; sorry meant Sony, not Fox
thomassaurus Its sony not fox who does the current Spiderman movies. If Sinister 6 can be done like the Assualt on Arkham Suicide squad animated movie was done, then it could be something magnificent. But if its handled like the villains in TASM2 then it will be shit. The biggest problem with their current universe is the villains are shitty. I like Garfield as Peter, the jokes are well crafted, and his relationship with Gwen could possibly be the only superhero love interest I ever gave a shit about. But the screenwriters need to make the villains less campy, it isn't a 1990's batman movie.
***** I don't like that its captain marvel > Ms. Marvel although they have really small differences mostly in name and costume, but I just don't find the character too interesting, I liked her in the recent thanos storyline. But until they announce who is playing her (crossing fingers for Katee Sachoff) im not really excited for her. If Katee is playing her though I will probably have it higher on this list.
DC comics, marvel comics, to me as a comic fan and a movie fan all I hear is that over the next five years we are getting 5 comic movies a year. I don't care what major company owns the characters I'm just freaking stoked!
I think Yvonne Strahovski would be a great pick for Captain Marvel. I wouldn't have said that a day ago, but I saw a lot of people mentioning her when Captain Marvel was announced and I agree that she'd be great for that role.
As long as they bring that character to life I don't care, they could cast anybody for all I care. They could grab someone off broadway, not saying that your pick isn't AN AMAZING ONE or that Emily Blunt wouldn't be INCREDIBLE but I always put the character first before the actor imo
My guess for Thor Ragnarok with ragnarok being an apocalyptic event would be that Thor 3 will be about Thanos attacking Asgard to get his hands on the Tesseract and Infinity Gauntlet which would lead directly into the infinity war.
To everyone complaining that they didn't spend enough time with DC: Marvel gave us brand new movies and casting with indications about what the movies would be about. DC just announced a bunch of solo movies for characters we already knew would be in it. How could they make an entire 1 hour show based off that?
Great show guys, with all these comic books coming to life it's a dream come true. I can still remember my parents taking me to see Superman the movie back in the day....
Schnepp has like a Phd in geek speak (i mean that in a good way). He's like the comic book whisperer or something. I can't believe how much he knows about this stuff!
Everyone's picking sides but if you're a true comic book fan or even a movie buff, you should be excited that you're comic book heroes and villains are coming to the big screen. Whether if you're a DC or Marvel fan. Just watching and hearing them, amazes me. I love both companies! It's treat for me just to be alive and experience it.
so stoked for the show today after finally seeing the redlight and awesome description!!! I guess i'll have to wait until the video is actually ready.. it must be too epic to be ready! haha
DC did not get a full show, because they announced that news only like 2 hours before the show starts. John puts the show notes together based on the movie news that comes the day before, sends them off to their effects team and Dennis who put the show together. THESE PEOPLE GET PAID. If I were John I wouldn't have given the DC news a full show because it was not part of the original programming and it would be a waste to get rid of the planned schedule. Amirose, Schnepp, and Alicia Malone didn't just sit in the studio and wait for John to send them the news form the event and talk about it live. they stuck to what was planned.
I'm not trying to be DC vs marvel since I like them both but the other day when the rumor of civil war was rumored it was a one topic episode, then DC announced their slate and it got a 10 minute discussion then when marvel reveals their slate it's another one topic episode, the topic this time being Marvel's upcoming films... as I said before I like both Marvel and DC but this does seem biased in my opinion.
Jonathan Alverna I saw that mail bag but the reason he gave was BS, they could've put off that days topics to give DC the same amount of time as they do for marvel.
themarine0316 "No >THEY'RE< not" and ">THEY'RE< further along.." I'm swedish-brazilian and I know this. And I like DC:s characters and universe a lot more than Marvels dito, but DC has much to learn from Marvel when it comes to selling THEIR movies. THEY'RE (DC) all over the place with THEIR characters with THEIR series and movies that doesn't seem to connect at all. They really don't seem to have a greater vision for THEIR own universe and have a lot to prove when it comes to showing THEIR stuff on the screen. Just look at all the failed attempts with Wonderwoman, Batman and Superman the past 15 years. If DC pulls of Batman v Superman, I believe, a lot of that will change.
themarine0316 They could have but they must have thought DC fans would get mad that they didn't cover the announcement that day and would't want to wait like he said.
A bit surprised too hear such talk about Captain Marvel's power. She is awesome, but not someone that takes down Thor or Hulk. But all of this is amazing news and really fun that the guys took an entire hour to talk about it. Of course there are some fanboys in the comment field that are upset, but those guys are just sad. We are truly in the golden age of comic book movies.
Jeez, DC fanboys need to chill out. When ate you going to realize there is no news from DC and Warner brothers to do an entire hour long show. Marvel on the other hand did what DC did but actually gave information for each movie and held a conference about it. What did DC do? Just threw titles and dates at us via in the fashion of a Microsoft word page. There's nothing to talk about except saying its interesting yada yada and move on. Marvel had gave more to talk about and hence an hour show. Dont blame John or marvel because DC wants to be lazy. Or maybe they still don't have that much of a plan...
DC didn't announce anything to the public. WB announced the DC lineup to its shareholders. BIG DIFFERENCE so you can't say they're lazy or don't have a plan. Go make dumb assumptions somewhere else please.
Luis Gonzalez but it was released? Thought so. Meaning they could have done the same marvel did. Either DC has a shotty plan or they don't believe in their plan. So I'll leave my facts right here. It's not assuming when those dates were released they could have held a similar conference and they did not so bam
Luis Gonzalez facts they released it Facts they could have shown more faith in the products by giving more news on them. Since they didn't means either they are too intimidated to do so or there are none. Any more two cent arguments?
I agree with other commenters. The speculation about Civil War got an entire show. Marvel reveals their Phase 3 slate and it gets a one hour special. WB reveals a 9+ film DC slate and it gets a 10-15 minute segment. It isn't exactly fair and I know you guys aren't biased, but it kinda comes off that way.
Huge Marvel fan here so I'm not complaining about the 1 hour long show. And what a show. Love you guys, keep up the good work. Hope SchmoesKnow does a podcast on this soon!
It's a rough day when your favorite Avenger is the Hulk. 2 Phases in and still no sequel? Only thing I don't like about Marvel is how they're putting his character on the same level as Black Widow and Hawkeye, which he isn't. Mark Ruffalos Hulk has been so well received I don't know why they aren't jumping at it. Hopefully he gets sent off into space at the end of Age of Ultron and becomes a new team member of the Guardians of the Galaxy or something. Here's my opinion on the announcements: Captain America Civil War: Sounds fantastic, the solo movie I'm looking forward to the most. Black Panther: Don't know much of the character outside of video games, but I'm interested in his character/abilities. Captain Marvel: Don't really know her, but any character with Superman level of power is definitely interesting to me. Thor Ragnarok: The first 2 Thor movies were a little lackluster, hopefully this brings the true Thor to the screen. Especially interested if Surtur is in it. Inhumans: Don't know them but from the sounds of it they'll be cool to see. Avengers Part 1 and Part 2: Genius! I feel like this will be the biggest superhero movie event ever, seeing all these stories finally come to the big climax.
***** I disagree on a few of your points. Many people have found Ruffalos portrayal to be the best interpretation yet, so having a movie built around his version is easy money as long as he's written well. I also think Hulk can and has worked well on his own. The Incredible Hulk (movie and TV show) did just fine handling the dynamic between Banner and Hulk. Now in a universe post Avengers where all these crazy things have happened, seeing how Hulk is dealing with coming out of hiding while also being somewhat of a celebrity would be interesting. I find Hulks continious search for a cure a very interesting and complex dilemma that sets him apart from other heroes, since most don't want to give up their abilities.
ThatCrazyJiveTurkey Can't disagree with you. Hulk is def several notches above Hawkeye and Black Widow. But, doing well in an ensemble doesn't mean he'd do well by himself. I suppose if he steals the show again in AOU they might reconsider... but on the other hand, everything they're putting out these days is making so much money it almost doesn't seem to matter who's in the movie. I mean to the extent that a Hulk movie would generate comparable revenue to an Ant Man, or Dr. Strange, they might as well go with figures that more closely fit the overarching narrative they've got going, right? I dunno. I love Hulk in Avengers.
That's so special about new Marvel movies is that they release movies that audience aren't familiar with. But they mostly like release some Hulk Sequels in the future because to be honest I'm sick of the Hulk movies that always start after his origin story when he haunted/battles the military all the time. I like to see Planet Hulk or World War Hulk.
Although I'm happy these films will now be coming (woop, woop!), let's be honest. We all kinda knew, or at least guessed, they would be. So why all the excitement? Now, if they had said, 'Hey, Spider-man's going to be in the MCU', well, now THAT would be an announcement. Anyone else agree?
disagree......we heard they had their slate planned but we never heard what the movies were .....plus 3 of those movies are movies fans have been screaming that they wanted to be made for years now...its the excitement of fruition...we knew that there was less than 2% chance of Spidey coming back
Right now, DC/WB can't catch s break, marvel is leaps and bounds ahead it's unreal, they have more than levelled the playing field, taking their not so well known teams like the Avengers and GoTG and making them household names. To the non-comic book reading audience, arguably only Batman and Superman will be familiar. I wonder if that has to do with DC not having its own studio? With Marvel having Marvel Studios and the backing of an entertainment Titan like Disney, it seems no wonder that they can forge ahead and realise their vision of a movieverse. WB has been an excellent ally and co-realiser of DC's films but I wonder if it's their other film commitments that is getting into the way of DCWB really stealing MarvelDisney's Thunder.
I think Wonder Woman aqua man flash ,and green lantern will be known .. You don't understand the how much the common viewer know about the them .. They have had tv shows since the 70s .. They pretty much known more than the lot of marvel characters b4 the movies
Law19157 There' two sides t that particular coin I think, WB being an established film studio and their close partnership with DC ought to see them having the marketing edge, but it's Marvel that's making the telling announcements and reveals building on the wave of interest generated by their previous box office successes. The fact that Marvel's slate has dates and distinct font shows that their preparation is superior to DC.
Ross Bauer For sure...I believe if WB formed DC Studios they'd be in much better shape...a full time commitment to the DC universe would do them some good. WB may be a well known Brand but DC is also a well known brand & if DC Studios was formed I don't think they would have an issue with being recognized or with Marketing
in my life i have seen great eras east coast vs west the (best rap era), wwf vs wcw the (best wrestling era), and now dc vs marvel the now superhero comicbook era at the end of 2020 i can die a happy man
Why would AMC spend a hour talking about the DC lineup when they're all going to be origin stories (besides JL and BvS). There isn't enough to talk about. If Marvel was just now announcing Phase 1's lineup, then most likely, AMC wouldn't do a whole hour on it either....but Marvel is so deep within their universe's story, that there are SOOOOO many assumptions and possibilities to what can happen next and what will effect what, they NEED to spend that much time on it. Plus, IMO...IMO...Marvel has done and will do, a better job executing their movies than DC ever will (excluding Nolan's Dark Knight series cause that's not included in this new franchise).
You can't say for sure Marvel has already outdone DC. You have to wait several years in order to say that. Oh great another Man of Steel hater. Like there's not enough of that.
superherofanboy24 When did I say anything that made me a MoS hater? If you reread...or just read...my comment I NEVER mentioned the words "Man of Steel" to signify I hated it. In regards to voicing MY OPINION about Marvel executing better movies than DC, I'm mostly looking at track record (and again, not including TDK series). Marvel has produced better movies since 2006 (Iron Man's appearance) than DC has. Yes, Marvel has had more films, but that's because they've done a better job which has led to more confidence in their product. Man of Steel has probably been the only good/great film that's come from DC since '06. Yea down the line, maybe after 2020, we'll all have different/altered opinions, but for now, looking at what's been done and what's currently in front of us, I still stand by what I said. Oh great another Marvel hater. Like there's not enough of that. ;)
Maybe someone already said it before me, since the Captain Marvel is the only movie between part 1 and 2 of "The Avengers: Infinity war", I think we will see Kree on earth and one will protect her in the first movie. This will make the creation of Captain Marvel and lead right to the CM movie. So the Captain Marvel movie might just be chapter 2 of the Infinity War.
Hey, I just googled Ragnarok and now, I want to live until I'm 150 + I never want to die - I want to see all these movies! OMG - there's just so much to look forward to. I'm going to exercise and eat better too :) Looking forward to more Superman, Batman + DC too!
I understand your reasoning behind not having a DC announcement she john, however I'm still not happy that Marvel has gotten two full episodes of coverage.
Shannon Clarendon You have to understand... I (John) don't give a shit about "Marvel" or "DC". I care about Comic Book movies. PERIOD. If the news is big enough, and the timing is right then we'll cover whatever. Marvel got a whole episode today because they released 8-9 MAJOR pieces of news.
AMC Theatres I do understand John. I never said u care about one more than the other. Im just saying yes you touched bases on the dc info, but unless it's a question from mailbag we never got a chance to delve into the dc news like we have for marvel. I understand that the way dc released its news via (stock holder meeting) was less than desirable for a same day news release, but dc also released a slate of movies that we only glazed over. Maybe it deserved a half hour of talk and speculation as well. Maybe not the same day, but dang something other than a quick squeeze in. Maybe an editorial....Thats all im saying. I dont doubt your love for movies or movie news. And I believe when u say ur a fanboy of both. I guess I have to chalk it up to marvels impeccable timing on both occations ;) Still love u and love the show John! Bring on the filthy :)
Ragnarok(The Character) was the clone Tony and Hank Pym, created during Civil War since Thor was dead at the time. Ragnarok (The Arc) was the arc where Surtur tried to end the universe
I can't even read the comments because of this DC vs Marvel complaints. I'm a proud supporter of both DC and Marvel, but we fans have to grow up! DC didn't get an hour show, so? If DC doesn't get an entire show then who cares, we'll get a show for DC when it comes, but Marvel is already in Phase 2 so of course Marvel has more to talk about movie wise. If DC doesn't get their own show then too bad because DC's announcement wasn't as important/big or it's last minute. So how about we Marvel and DC fan's just get along lol.
Yep tell me about it. Seems like when one movie from DC or Marvel are a success they end up finding something about the movie to hate. I loved Man of Steel and Iron man 3. 2 hated movies from DC and Marvel lol.
Just checking in on these classics. Miss these days, it’s weird that I have nostalgia for it already.
Have you seen the John Campea show lately I think the nostalgia is back it’s back in its prime
@@matt1372 campeas show is good but there’s something special about where it all started
Good times...
Missing Schnepp.
likewise
Just come from watching Avengers Endgame. What a ride this past few years has been. Was watching this video earlier for the nostalgia and can say there has been no disappointment with any of these movies. R.i.p. Jon Schnepp

I was 13 when this happened. I'm almost 22 now and it's wild to be on the other side of this. I loved this show, I love everyone on it, and I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
So weird coming back to this after all this
Yea it is. I miss Schnepp first and foremost. And to come here after IW and Endgame is surreal. I wish we could go back 5 years :)
Miss this show and crew ... truly the best combo I've seen. Rip Schnepp.
Amazing show and so much fun to be a Comic Book Movie fan right now!
I hate you guys you sold your souls the moment your sat at the Amc movie talk table. Now you just like them some Kevin Feige groupies and Marvel fanboys

schmoesknow Excellent response Kristian. Always keeping it classy, or at least as classy as a schmoe can keep it. I'll go one step further on your original comment. It is so much fun to be a Movie fan right now. All the things coming from DC and Marvel and FOX and Sony, PLUS Star Wars! Incredible!!
I'm sorry Kristian I was just very upset about the whole "an hour long show for Marvel".My emotions took the best of me I certainly don't Hate you guys I'v been a fan since day one and I will always support you and Mark even if he is the president of the "we hate Man of Steel Club"
Ps: sorry for my English I'm a french speaker
Ken djunga dude it is not a competition and no one "sold" to anyone, I'm personally happy because both shows get richer with the sharing of opinions, there's no exclusivity here, just passion for movies
I’ll always come back, the golden era
Whether you like Marvel or DC, this is just a good time to be a comic book fan. We are getting almost 20 movies from both companies in the next five years, that's insane!
I also believe in the hearth of all comic books
I know man, Hollywood is spoiling us!
thank you !...and is great
Love and Miss You Schnepp. You Were The Best Of All Of Us.
Who else watches this when they get bored
Me right now 😂
Yes even in 2019! These were the good old days of movie talk. Such great chemistry💯
@Oliver ClothesOff Um I sure HOPE you mean to HONOR Schnepp, right? lol....If so, you mean want to re-word that post
@Oliver ClothesOff YOU ARE A DISGUSTING HUMAN BEING
Crazy how it's been 6 years since this was uploaded.
If DC called it,
Justice League: Darkseid War
Green Lantern: Rise of Sinestro
Aquaman: Throne of Atlantis
THEN, we could talk, but right now, they're just names and vague dates.
***** I'm against this whole fan war too. I just wanted to see a longer discussion, that's all I'm saying.
No one cares about DC! LOL
An hour on what? Dog shit? LOL you're funny hehe and delusional!
***** Rise of Sinestro..don't get me excited. I'm barely hanging on for 2016
For all the people saying they should discuss DC for one hour what's there to discuss?
The time has passed so its no big deal to me but I can see why DC fan boys would think its a bias.
you've won the internet for the day!!
Beast Lee No... He really didnt,
Jcool0 I.........disagree
RIP Schnepp. I'll watch part 2 with you in mind.
Schnep just WOWED me. You def deserve to be on that panel.
I am a DC fanboy, and I HAVE to say, Captain America Civil War is my SECOND MOST anticipated movie of 2016. I cannot wait for it!!!
Still the greatest episode of all time. I really miss John Campea on movie talk now.
20 years no 30 years from now i will be able to look back and say i was there for the beginning of the great Comic Cinema wars. I have a feeling the next 6 years will be the beginning of a new era. DC VS Marvel is gonna take over the Cinematic age. This is going to be marvelous.
ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER WATCHING THIS BACK IN DAY? MISS SCHNEPP , STILL FOLLOW JOHN CAMPEAD CHANNEL BUT I MISS THE CREW
I miss having all the guys bounce off one another and have that chemistry. What John's got going on today is great, but I just miss this.
In terms of Phase 4, I think its one of 2 options:
No ones brought up the fact Guardians is now the 3rd highest grossing movie in the MCU, seriously nothing can stop Marvel
that would have been too much to handle ....its mind blowing how Marvel is reaching into our pockets and we are only telling them stop because they werent taking enuff money at the time..."hey Kevin...here's 20 more bucks...have a nice day" lol
Just look at this simple comparison:
DC SDCC 2014: 3 leading stars of their new DCCU appear, stand there like statues and smile for the camera and a selfie.
No offence but I never heard of Chadwick Boseman until the announcement of Black Panther :(
So I'm happy that so many people are happy with this casting.
Once of the things i loved the most about Black Panther is that one of the MAIN reasons he joined The Avengers was so that he could keep tabs on them and make sure that they weren't a threat to him or Wakanda. Pure Bad Ass.
Even greater watching this after Infinity War...Schnepp's best wishes came true in the best of ways
Ok, for those complaining that they didn’t dedicate as much time to DC as they did to Marvel, there are two reasons for it:
1- What John already explained many times: the news came out when they had the whole show already planned
2- Look, I love both Marvel and DC.
That’s all.
I miss these days. R.I.P Schnepp
Who here in 2021?? Good times
I just watched the show that was taped one year ago today. When John said they would never make a Marvel Civil War movie. Wow what a difference one year makes.
first video that got me into AMC, RIP Schnepp.
"you are all sweaty"
God, I lol'd
It never was a battle for supremecy, Batman and SUperman are in the DC universe. Never even a competition.
The Media who gets PAID to watch FREE movies, socializing with movie stars WITHOUT distractions from publicists, bodyguards etc, are Winning!!
+Zachary Licht at least marvel doesn't have to reboot the same two characters 4 times each *cough cough* Batman.....Superman
@48:20 The 1980s Thor Series is AWESOME...Starts with Beta Ray Bill in space, and the return of Balder the Brave to Asgard...And a MASSIVE battle on earth with most of earths heroes teaming up with Asgardians...very cool stuff....
who’s here after endgame
Hahah Schnepp actually nailed the ending for Age of Ultron.
He really did 😂
He always spot on with a lot of stuff.
I like the way Schnepp uses the world "flavour"
I honestly hope this show gets a bigger fan base because they do a great service to the fanbase and they are spot on in their analysis and reports. Brilliant point about the worth of Kevin Feige! Keep it up, AMC!
I'm going to cry if I have to wait until after work to watch this
I'm sorry. I can't do an hour of AMC Movie Talk. My mind will explode from all the AWESOMENESS!!!
you have to watch this with everything is awesome playing in the background.
The greatest show AMC or Collider ever did on MOVIE TALK.
CAMPEA
SCHNEPP
HARLOFF
ELLIS
Sheesh.
So true lol
Nope I only want DC movies, because I do not care for Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Inhumans.
Thank you for adressing the idiocity of BOTH sides.
You Sir deserve a Cookie ,fans win in the end .
True but sadly the war will never end only in the internet both fans are going to watch both movies regardless either is Marvel or DC.
Came back for the nostalgia and boy was 4:10 prophetic for DC
10:28 man too foreboding, mark is joking about surviving here, little did we know one of these guys actually wasn't going to make it to the Endgame...
RIP
Marvel has all this AWESOMENESS! DC has Batfleck. Enjoy DC fans.
Ben Affleck is talented though.
we also have henry cavil, amy adams, the rock, Jason mamoa, ezra miller, plus some really amazing Oscar talent behind the camera too.
cmurphylife And Flash, Green Lantern, Constantine, Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, Cyborg, Joker, Sinestro, Darkseid, Lex Luthor, Brainiac, etc..
And don't forget coty 2015 arkham knight call me when marvel makes a decent game
Marvel has the Hulk. It does not take a God of Mischief to know that.
1 hour of MARVEL TALK! SWEET! let me get a beer
Always come back to watch this
This crew was so great
Mark Ellis can never be so foreboding at 10:25. MCU Phase 3 timeline is so long you cant be sure to still be around, and now we lost our sweatiest beloved in this panel to join us finish the ride. RIP Schnepp
Watching a week before Endgame
its cool to look back at all this now
Heres my list of most anticipated marvel/dc films.
1. Xmen apocalypse
2. Black panther
3. Batman v Superman
4. Guardians 2
5. Aquaman
6. Suicide squad
7. Wonder woman
8. Justice league
9. Justice league 2
10. Inhumans
11. Shazam
12. Flash
13.Civil war
14. Ant-man
15. Deadpool
16. Fantastic 4
17. Sinister 6
18. Green Lantern
19. Doctor Strange
20. Thor 3
21. Avengers 2
22. Cyborg
23. Avengers 3-1
24. Avengers 3-2
25. Venom
26. Captain Marvel
Remove Sinister 6 and Boycott that crap. Well that's my opinion at least because the last movie sucked and I would rather it go back to marvel.
I love Spiderman but Fox has ruined my interest in their current Spiderman universe.
Edit; sorry meant Sony, not Fox
and the amazing spiderman 3 anyone JK
but I am looking forward to sinister six
thomassaurus
Its sony not fox who does the current Spiderman movies.
If Katee is playing her though I will probably have it higher on this list.
lol if all these movies are good/great than my Itunes/blue ray collection is going to be huge for superhero movies years throughout.
Ahvi303 I (John) LOVE that pick
As long as they bring that character to life I don't care, they could cast anybody for all I care. They could grab someone off broadway, not saying that your pick isn't AN AMAZING ONE or that Emily Blunt wouldn't be INCREDIBLE but I always put the character first before the actor imo
Agreed, she is my favorite pick as of right now.
Yvonne is hot but she has no boobs. ms marvel has big tities and is one of her assets.
I'm with you on that pick
My guess for Thor Ragnarok with ragnarok being an apocalyptic event would be that Thor 3 will be about Thanos attacking Asgard to get his hands on the Tesseract and Infinity Gauntlet which would lead directly into the infinity war.
nah its ALL about Surtur
Just found this video. It's good to see how all that panned out and to hear the opinions. .
Oh DC fanboys. If you'll stop the hate and appreciate what Marvel has done then you'll enjoy your lives much better.
To everyone complaining that they didn't spend enough time with DC:
Marvel gave us brand new movies and casting with indications about what the movies would be about. DC just announced a bunch of solo movies for characters we already knew would be in it. How could they make an entire 1 hour show based off that?
Great show guys, with all these comic books coming to life it's a dream come true. I can still remember my parents taking me to see Superman the movie back in the day....
This is crazy to watch all these years later knowing what happens!
I want to see these guys together more often.
Happy 7th Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!
so stoked for the show today after finally seeing the redlight and awesome description!!!
And John has explained that more than once. Apparently, very few people listened.
I think this might be your best episode ever
I'm not trying to be DC vs marvel since I like them both but the other day when the rumor of civil war was rumored it was a one topic episode, then DC announced their slate and it got a 10 minute discussion then when marvel reveals their slate it's another one topic episode, the topic this time being Marvel's upcoming films... as I said before I like both Marvel and DC but this does seem biased in my opinion.
Jonathan Alverna I saw that mail bag but the reason he gave was BS, they could've put off that days topics to give DC the same amount of time as they do for marvel.
***** No there not, their just further along, Many of us that refuse to pit one against the other like both equally.
Who gives a crap about DC's upcoming crappy films? lol obviously no one of worth, thus why AMC gave more attention to Marvel.
themarine0316 "No >THEY'RE< not" and ">THEY'RE< further along.." I'm swedish-brazilian and I know this.
Ah the good ole days
Now this is the amc movie talk I've been waiting for since dc lineup got released.
Are*
DC didn't announce anything to the public.
Luis Gonzalez facts they released it
Facts they could have shown more faith in the products by giving more news on them. Since they didn't means either they are too intimidated to do so or there are none. Any more two cent arguments?
y2j13
You don't got no facts.
Watching this in 2020 😭😭
That last line from Schnepp summs up my ideas for BvS
I'm a DC fanboy but I must say "Well played Marvel well played"
Is that a partial quote from Darkseid? Sounds like it LOL
Huge Marvel fan here so I'm not complaining about the 1 hour long show. And what a show. Love you guys, keep up the good work. Hope SchmoesKnow does a podcast on this soon!
3:08 John Campea said that Kevin Tsujihara is the right man for the job for DC! Wow this video sure as hell didn't age well lol!
Marvin Wade That part aged worse than the Inhumans movie announcement.
@@movieman2293yep! I always forget that Inhumans was almost a movie 😂
I always knew they would cast Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther!! And I am so glad I was right!!
Here's my opinion on the announcements:
Captain America Civil War: Sounds fantastic, the solo movie I'm looking forward to the most.
The solo Hulk movies haven't done the best so I don't blame them but they hinted at Hulk being in other phase 3 films so theres that
VinceLovesToast
That was all pre Avengers though. Ruffalos Hulk was one of, if not the biggest, highlight of The Avengers.
*****
I disagree on a few of your points.
Nope
disagree......we heard they had their slate planned but we never heard what the movies were .....plus 3 of those movies are movies fans have been screaming that they wanted to be made for years now...its the excitement of fruition...we knew that there was less than 2% chance of Spidey coming back
Watching this after Spider Man got added AND INFINITY WAR ITSELF is crazy as hell.
I come from the future! Cumberbatch is Doctor Strange, Spider-Man's in Civil War and is getting a MCU solo movie, and Ant-Man 2 will have the wasp
Oh! And Tom Holland's Spider-Man
#Spoileralert
+nvrules27 i knew that..
I know all that stuff and your not from the future
Johnathan Peterson Dude, it's a joke b/c this video was posted 2 years ago...
Everybody's waiting, (waiting), waiting on this video to change. I have been waiting for this all day! Might just have to watch it tomorrow.
Interesting thought....I agree, things might change for them if there was separate studio within WB that was committed to DC films and nothing else
Ross Bauer you saying avengers unknown is ridiculous and kills your argument everyone around me already knew hulk iron man Thor cap really?
Comic book fans rejoice!! We will be getting about 4-5 movies a year for the next 5 years! This is all kinds if awesome!!!!
I love the fact even when John is wrong he still thinks hes right.lol
in my life i have seen great eras east coast vs west the (best rap era), wwf vs wcw the (best wrestling era), and now dc vs marvel the now superhero comicbook era at the end of 2020 i can die a happy man
Why would AMC spend a hour talking about the DC lineup when they're all going to be origin stories (besides JL and BvS).
Like there's not enough of that. ;)
Jake Brotsis Actually there are very few Marvel haters.
RIP DC.
StaticHD They're already on suicide watch.
This is a marvel video, keep your fanboyism away from this video
Hey, I just googled Ragnarok and now, I want to live until I'm 150 +
I never want to die - I want to see all these movies! OMG - there's just so much to look forward to. I'm going to exercise and eat better too :)
Looking forward to more Superman, Batman + DC too!
I understand your reasoning behind not having a DC announcement she john, however I'm still not happy that Marvel has gotten two full episodes of coverage.
Show not she
edit button, it exists
Shannon Clarendon You have to understand... I (John) don't give a shit about "Marvel" or "DC". I care about Comic Book movies. PERIOD. If the news is big enough, and the timing is right then we'll cover whatever. Marvel got a whole episode today because they released 8-9 MAJOR pieces of news.
XarkoCZ edit exists on google plus not on the TH-cam app smarty farty ;)
I gotta say, I'm glad you guys put the A team on for this announcement episode!
I come from the future, BvS holds a 29% on Rotten Tomatoes and so far Captain America: Civil War holds 100% on Rotten Tomatoes so far
and suicide squads has a 26%
Ragnarok(The Character) was the clone Tony and Hank Pym, created during Civil War since Thor was dead at the time.
So how about we Marvel and DC fan's just get along lol.
yup. but unfortunately everyone's too busy calling everyone else a marvel fanboy or a dc fanboy...its so annoying.
Yep tell me about it. Seems like when one movie from DC or Marvel are a success they end up finding something about the movie to hate. I loved Man of Steel and Iron man 3.
2 hated movies from DC and Marvel lol.
Haha yeah I mean I didn't like MOs. But I liked im3
