Hi Chris, the Motorola has 4k60. Click the little line under the aspect ratio in the video and you will find it. Many of the settings are there. The same for photo settings
2 time zoom in texture quality . google claim zoom from 50mp raw like iPhone . see if pro level zoom real stuff.

I still prefer the 12s Ultra Leica authentic shots - not oversharpened, not oversaturated, toned down HDR, performing like a real camera. And it has 5x high quality periscope lens! (though front-facing is really terrible)

I completely understand and I respect your choice of "authentic" photographer for post treatment or not, but I think, I could be wrong, that the pics vibrant mode are more competitive on this type of comparison against other ultra high-end and mid-range photophones, the vibrant mode should provide better control of high lights and low lights with better HDR, better sharpness with a different saturation for sure. It will be up to us to judge when the test takes place.

Again, nice review, i am happy to ear that you improved much the colors section analysis compared to old videos, i am pretty much on par with your feeling on this video. Generally 12su is better the more the light goes down, but in daylight and overall same story, 12t pro is too good being priced half. Only in videos i notice a much better presentation from 12su, and eis is a bit bad on motorola, but they are all good shooters, and they are even better with a good custom cam installed. Keep it like this anyway, i appreciated that you listened constructive critics.

impressive how much Motorola has improved in such short time! last year the edge 20 pro had horrible cameras when I used it, now it's competing against the best ones for photos! o have the edge 30 now and camera quite good too, all about software

I went through all the photos (selfies and rear cameras). For each one based on Chris's ranking in the video i gave the following:
Best = 3 points
Second = 2 points
Worst = 1 point.
Where there was no clear mention/indication of which one was second or third in the video I gave a tie for second (2 points to each).
End results for photos:
Xiaomi 12s ultra: 31 points
Xiaomi 12t pro: 31 points
Motorola edge 30 ultra: 29 points

I have the edge 30 Ultra,photos are hit n a miss! Too much of HDR at times ruins it plus there's a lot of focus hunting. Zooming in on 200 MP shots is a nightmare 😂 I hope Moto will fix this!
I really was hoping that myself. I think though it's really being used as a testing sample for Sony. Just across different devices. I always compare the phones starting with the phones sensor and if it uses pixel binning or not.

The More MP you use the more stable it needs. The phone and the target must be quiet with no mov at all or the pic will be a mess.

Xiaomi needs of work on their miui other than that they make excellent phones in terms of hardware be it a flagship or a mid-range. They did a pretty good job in 12T Pro in such a short time with the lens.
Looking forward for miui 14. Hope it will be polished one this time.

Neither did I it was a bit of a shock how the main 200MP sensor is betting that 1-inch sensor. The f/1.69 Vs f1.9 might help a bit.

I think new phones are just too much in numbers and less in optimization. I still remember that camera comparison when xiaomi 10 ultra rocks on cameras like s21 ultra, huawei mate 40 pros.

I was surprised how well the Motorola performed here! The 20 edge from last year was significantly behind other flagships. But all three phones here traded blows for sure. Which is saying a, lot about the 12tpro!

Thank You!! been waiting for this. It's kinda sad, that xiaomi keeps increasing prices. In 2019 i bought MI 9T pro 8/128gb model for 330eur new, Still have it, but upgraded to redmi note 10 pro with proper gcam it does wonders. Then next MI 10T pro cost atleast 450eur, couldn't find any cheaper back then, Than MI11T pro was dissapointing, 100e+ more than previous gen phone while having weaker camera hardware... HM2 can be found on redmi note 10 pro it also lacks OIS while IMX sensor on mi 10t pro had it and was bigger. Now 12T pro has serious main camera sensor however its whoping 250eur+ more than previous dissapointment phone MI11T pro, big aperature and from your testing it isn't far behind 12s ultra, while Motorola requires camera app overhaul... I would love to see MI 10T pro, vs MI 11T pro vs MI 12T pro camera comparison, does price increase worth it.
Very good work here! Great test! I really enjoyed. In my opinion Motorola is a winner but it has baddest stabilization of these three how I see, but the other two phones does not have that much better stabilization, but Motorola is cheaper, so that would be my choice here 👑

Some don't like the high contrast of 12$ but I love it. So sometimes it just depends on preferences of the one shooting.
mi12T pro not blowing the lights, the colors are very good, the video stabilization is very good
It's a real surprise but Xiaomi has done so well with the main camera if only it had a better UW!
Guess I can understand why Lei Jun said next year's Ultra will go global but not this year's. Problem in consistency. The relationship with Leica is somewhat premature, so they have a lot to improve.
The 12T Pro doesn't have the Leica branding, so they use whatever Xiaomi has always been using pre-Leica.
The Leica branding brings with it added expectations and pressure. The Mi 12S Ultra is good but didnt quite live up to the hype. But its still early in their collaboration and things can get better. I think what Xiaomi and Leica have done so far is better than what Oneplus and Hasselblad have achieved in the last 2 years

Motorola really fixed the stabilization in selfie video 😲
If they manage to do the same thing for the rear cameras and above all allow filming in 4k60, there this Motorola could really be disturbing for the big manufacturers.

I always watch these on 4k 60 on a big screen. Different in feeling when watching on a smaller screen, tend to prefer less saturated less contrast on a big screen. If the videos comes in hdr would be even better.
That one inch sensor really does make a big difference, I can instantly tell that the 12S Ultra's camera has the more natural rendition. I believe that's where smartphone cameras should be going, bigger sensors and not bigger MP.
The 12s ultra is a bit of a letdown overall though. It's good but considering it would be in the €1300-1,400 price range if launched in Europe, it was a good decision not to launch it. It's not that good considering the price and isn't really improved at all compared to the Xiaomi 11 ultra. If fact it is worse in quite a few areas like focus and video quality. Hopefully, the 13 ultra may be better when they use their own ISP. Agree with you on the smartphone sensors though. That is where they are going next year at least for flagships. Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Honor will all use 1 inch type sensors for the main camera in their flagships next year. It seems to mostly be the more budget level flagships that are getting the higher megapixel sensors so far

For main camera sensor i vote for Xiaomi 12T Pro in my eyes on all the photo you share i find that the Xiaomi 12T Pro have a true to life colors and for that's i like rather than to saturated and bright, maybe why Xiaomi 12T Pro have a great photos because it have a nice f/1.7 rarher to Motorola and 12SU at f/1.9 that's my take because iPhone to have in same range of f/, if you consider to use a phone to capture i will go to Xiaomi 12T Pro rather than this 2 contender for photo quality but but for spec wise i will go to Motorola Edge 30 Ultra why it's because it have a highest MP count in market to date also the software is close to stock, 4k on selfie but as we see UW is in 1080p even the UW have a 50MP that for sure can capture up to 8k, maybe in the next firmware update Motorola will fixed.
The Edge 30 Ultra is a much better phone overall, metal frame build, better software and UI, better UW, better selfie, video out with desk top mode and even wireless charging.

for that unique price is 12T pro absolutely bestseller winner, there is not better phone in that price range, only they need thru updates improve sound bitrate in videos and add 4k video on selfie cam and it will be best choice phone with snap 8+gen 1 ,this 200mpix main camera is a big miracle must say ..lilbit angry that xiaomi put there only base 8mpix ultrrawide cam instead better cam, at least 13 or 16 mpix

I understand the appeal of the Edge 30 in the night shots but i'm personally not a fan of the extreme sharpening they apply! More sharpening =/= more detail!

Yes it is for cameras but for 150 euros more the Edge 30 Pro has a better build, 144hz, video out 4k with desktop mode, wireless charging and much better UI with updates and Android 13 coming.

The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra overall is a better phone with more feature well worth the 150 extra. You get a metal build, 50W wireless charging, video out 4k with test top mode. USB 3.2 speeds Vs USB 2.0, better UI and better software. Less bugs. Better front camera, better ultrawide the list goes on.

There was originally 4K60 on the Motorola edge 30 ultra but they had autofocus issues so they've probably pulled it for some updating

Makes no sense as the sensor supports it and they have the chipset to back it up.

Motorola for me has a sucky sensor.i can always tell when I stand inside and if you move the sensor away from light...you can see it. It's rarely wrong ...because if I hold up a Pixel 5 or 22 Ultra it's not there. You will see that fuzz. If you go back one generation on Pixel you will see some in 4. Xiaomi 11 and 12 models you don't. I started feelings that's why it was the sensor.

Vibrant is too over the top the colors I feel this is why I went with authentic and the default, no filter on all 3 for video. Next 12S ultra camera comparison i'll try vibrant okay!

Overall, the 12T Pro is better. But the 12T Pro has worse video recording audio bitrate at 96 vs 320 kbps of the Mi 10T Pro
At 9:05 into the video, the details near the windows are not lost with the 12T Pro or Ultra. The Moto uses just way too much sharpening and contrast, resulting in that unnatural image.
If you were to edit the Xiaomi images you could get the same effect, just nobody wants that cause it looks terrible.

I have the old Motorola G7 power and still have my iPhone X to be fair for the average person the photos I sent I don’t think Notices anything from their own smart phone
Actually not a lot between them all for the main camera. Basically too and fro. The edge 30 ultra is a bit weaker on video stabilisation. Xiaomi's biggest weakness in both these phones is portraits. The Xiaomi 12s ultra is not that good for normal people photos either. They really need to improve human subject photos, get the colours right and tone down the contrast. The edge 30 ultra was far better than I expected in lowlight and overall probably the best of the bunch for lowlight photos. The hp1 sensor actually seems to be doing well in general. It's not good for photos of moving kids and pets though as it shoots with relatively slow shutter speed (for both these phones) compared with the flagships using imx sensors

@@Techtablets Not necesseraly. My Motorola takes great selfies on manual, without the skin smothening option. Just gotta take it on a sunny day. Iso 100 or lower, White Balance on auto and just adjust the shutter speed.
It sad to see so much powerful phones both 12T Pro and 12S Ultra having only 96hz voice recording(what's wrong with XiaoMi anyway?), overall I like XiaoMi 12S Ultra, but out Motorola edge 30 ultra I like Motorola edge 30 Pro version more with decent specs and announced to get android 13
They have many things more like 4k front cameras, 4k video out, better build, wireless charging, better UI from Moto it's great to see.

Yes It takes some really stunning photos but can be quite hit and miss I find. Often I have to take 5 photos to find 1-2 is really good the rest can have off exposure or focus.
