I seen few review from Utube and China Tiktok. Vivo this time make the right decision by putting 200mp 1inch on the Periscope. Samsung really need to step up their game in this department, as we do not often use 200mp on the main sensor. the normal 12mp already did a good job Even Vivo brand is not top on par with Samsung, at least the people willing to innovate more then some almost same spec from Samsung for 3 years straight. I'm using the S23U, too bad this Vivo didnt release to the global.
I thought Huawei will have the worst video based on their past phones performance but surprisingly, vivo has the most jitter of them 3. I understand that most will be rooting for the Vivo because it's the cheapest and Google access. Huawei just proves its superiority in processing considering they have a 7nm chipset and years old camera sensors.
I bought a P50 pro a while back mostly because of the DXO Camera Rating but compared to my then Samsung note 10, I preferred the Note 10 photos - especially the colours. And then trying to get the Huawei setup without Google was just a nightmare even with all the workarounds. The last thing that peeved me off is that you can't swipe down in the middle of the screen to drop down the notification panel. Basic ease of use. I returned it. Samsung is miles ahead with software even though not with their cameras.
On my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra I set the Smart Optimization option to "Medium". I recommend you to avoid the "Maximum" setting, because it processes the photos way too much and makes them look like pastel paintings. :) Along with that, the battery wears out faster with the "Maximum" setting and gets much hotter. The most natural photos are obtained at the "Minimum" setting, but then in lower light it produces too much noise. Therefore, I recommend shooting in bright light with the "Minimum" or "Medium" setting, and at dusk with the "Medium" setting, though sometimes at extreme darkness you may want to switch to "Maximum". I also downloaded the "Camera assistant" app where I set "Picture softening" to "High". Then the photos are as natural as possible and close to what is standard for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. If it is set to "Medium", it takes 1 second more for additional processing and the photos are only slightly sharpened, but still natural. However, I don't recommend shooting with the "Off" setting, because then the photos are unpleasantly out of focus and all objects have white outlines. This is especially noticeable when shooting tree branches, fences, street poles, text on paper etc. :) In summary, here are my recommended settings for the best balance between detail and natural looking photos: "Smart Optimization" to be set to "Medium". From the Camera assistant app, set the "Picture softening" to "Medium".

@theedcx It's their processing which is sub standard. I tried a GCam port (pixel camera apk) on a Note 10 and the improvement on some of the photos were quite significant!

Chris, I know that this isn't a photography channel and it would be hard to implement side by side as you do with a triple-phone holder, but could you get some cheap DSLR camera, those around 500 eur, obviously no Sony alpha, nothing major. But some camera that can, for the most part, show how it SHOULD look color-wise. For photos and videos. I think for such "ultras" tier - it's time to put them next to actual cameras and not just to each other or to their "Pro" models. Obviously I wouldn't ask that of any sub-1000$ trash cameraphone, not even of respectable X100 Pro or versatile Google\Samsung\Apple. Your daughter's shot was interesting. Samsung was very well-exposed and frame-able. China's phones feel like they want to capture the exposure, but can't handle HDR. Overall... I think Huawei is better for professionals. For extra tricky shots. For lesser enthusiasts - Vivo gives plenty of toys to play with. But out of the box - Samsung probably would suit more for point and shoot casuals. After all - it is 2nd only to apple in that regard, and it's NOT a bad thing.
I recommended my brother to get the X100, and he's been raving about its camera since. The zoom quality shots are excellent. I am still happy with my x80.
Thanks for the good comparison :) Can you compare next time Xiaomi 14 Ultra vs Vivo X100 Ultra, vs Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, please ? :) It will be great :)
I think the s24 ultra is just more consistent in every scenario more than the other 2 are. U see that more in videos with camera switches or videos at night.
The S24 has a tiny sensor (the most expensive part). They really cheaped out, except on the price. The Huawei p40pro from 2020 demolishes it, not to mention 7680 fps slo-mo vs the s24 ultra's 240 fps. It's a gilded turd, that fools people who don't understand camera tech.
@@BrownDaddy007 but again as I said the samsung is not better, but more reliable, in every scenario its consistent troughout, the software is just better and the camera app works better
Great video - but confirmed I don't need to import the Vivo as its not the leap in quality I was expecting or the press had hyped us to believe at least. Will stick with the 14 Ultra I have which as least is a Global version) :)
I do, of course, like Huawei, but my biggest issue is the way it makes faces a bit yellowish, especially in the daytime. It's been there since the introduction of those RYYB sensors. Just can't get over it in some or a lot of human subject photos. Not sure but I think the RYYB helped night-o-grahy but hey, I'm no expert hahaha.
I'll say this, you're great, super review 👌 But what’s disturbing is that everyone is shouting that the Vivo x100 Ulta is everything, there’s nothing better in the world, it’s not that Vivo In fact, Vivo bought a 200 megapixel matrix from Samsung and they can shoot it, but it’s better than 24 ultra, I don’t think maybe a little, 25 ultra will be interesting, they’re preparing a good update 👌💪
Huawei's front facing camera has the best stabilization and widest view based on all reviews I found so far on TH-cam. It will be so good for vlogging!
Seems like Vivo didn`t fix the video exposure flickering in daylight. Their entire budget was probably spent on optimizing this phone for low-light photo/videography, and it shows. I think from watching lots of comparisons, that this phone is currently the low-light king
Samsung came out 6 months ago so its old and cannot be compared. The Vivo is technically the best camera so I ordered it but oh boy does that Huawei look beautiful. It's a piece of art.. I'm a little jealous because the vivo looks like 2020.
I believe that you should take more photos, because the Vivos`s camera is better than others, specially with the macro mode. Vivo 100 Ultra is the best phone this year include on photos and videos.
Just can't catch a break with the camera phones lol you think one is "the one" and then it'll have some annoying trait like green tints or funny white balance or oversharpening etc Or it's Sony where it's superb when used right but still has lesser HDR auto and smaller sensors for lesser night performance etc. Difficult to choose one :)
More details, no overexposure, and no black shadows will always be best because you can edit them afterwards to your taste. Whereas, overexposure, black shadows, and less details means less information available to edit (can't bring details back into a purely black shadow or almost white, overexposed highlights).
X100 ultra best, Huawei awesome, but for me Samsung S24 Ultra has done well and Samsung still has resistance to show the same good photo quality as the iPhone. Thankyou made a vidio and a clerk, I expect the photo to be taken with a human object and in a chalengging situation
The RYYB sensor of the Huawei phones ruins the photos with the yellow/green tint, failing to capture night photos true to life, making the indoors seem more lit then they are and failing to capture the low light atmosphere.
Pura 70 ultra has imx989 sensor (same as vivo x100 pro), so problem is in the soft. I have p40 with RYYB sensor and it cpatures much better colors in low light than pura.
best selfie camera right out the first few seconds is the Huawei pura 70 ultra. I saw the best stabilization on that and I think the only one with accurate colors.
Thanks! You need to show the whole images/videos in fullscreen because it's very hard to spot differences in these little columns. For example, oversharpening can appear as real sharpness, etc.
Or check out phones from last year xiaomi 13 pro 13 ultra, vvo x90 pro, oppo find x6 pro honor mgic 5 pro there’s plenty now that prices are getting low
have the X90 pro plus, if I would buy it would be Vivo again. Hope Vivo kept the amazing build quality I have with X90. A big heavy car stepped on it with both left tires and only the selfie i had to replace. Screen and body untouched! As for the photos, during daylight even with midrange smartphones in nowdays you can get almost equal quality, You have to zoom quite a lot to see "problems". In medium light from what I saw (everywhere) X100 ultra handles better everything and in these conditions differences are more noticeable. In video X100 ultra is a step front from X90 pro plus but a still a bit worse than samsung and iphone. If you can please test a very important thing. How are portraits in medium and in strange light conditions. Vivo advertise that in with concert pics. If promos are equal quality with real life then it is a big sale point. If only Vivo wouldn't reduce the fingerprint area in ultra. It is not like X90 pro plus which is huge.
I dont know why Samsung is put always near Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo or Huawei, its literally 1 level under the 4 flagship companies. Samsung is just marketing when it comes to cameras. Yes, its not bad at all but when compared with Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo its just a class lower. This should have been a X100 Ultra, Pura 70 Ultra, Xiaomi 14 Ultra comparison, not Samsung, Samsung gets compared with Magic 6 pro
The video at the beginning showing you walking to the coast, the Pura 70 has a pink/red tone to the rocks whereas the other two are more orange. Which one of these 3 were more colour accurate? Thanks in advance if you respond
I have x100 pro and yes, by default it has that option activated, when low light it will drop the fps to get more details, but if you turn off that option then drop frames should not occur, at least that never happened on mine
Huawei completely failed for me for these set of test. When swapping from wide video to ultrawide the magenta shift is crazy. I like vivo deep contrast and color the best. Huawei does have some pleasing flat photos that might look more real. Samsung is just okay, but Samsung has that brightness gain map support for instagram stills, and that to my eye is the most important aspect, once you go bright (basically photos looking like dolby vision stills with low power off, just looks more jarring but over time more lively & I’m addicted to the highlights).
Superb clarity and quality from the Vivo X100. Colours on point. Could replace a DSLR for many shots. Huawei just has a haze over all it's videos and photos. Samsung is sort of OK, but fails to impress as a flagship camera on any single thing. And I'm a Samsung user lol. It's the software UI that keeps me with the brand. But the cameras are very average nowadays on the flagships.
@@innocentanthony3324 I definitely wouldn't say bad - they seem to have high DXO Ratings - i just prefer the images that come out of the Samsungs compared to Huawei and I tried comparisons owning a P50pro and Samsung Flagship.
After all - it is 2nd only to apple in that regard, and it's NOT a bad thing.
hi Chris, may i know if the x100 ultra gimbal stabilization useful or it just a gimmick?
To be honest I don't like the main camera of the Huawei at filming. The other 2 have nicer colors, but at night it was good.
Video with Huawei is quite poor especially that ultrawide camera.
@@Techtablets vivo got an update. After huawei will too make a new comparison
With only Samsung available here in DE, we do need a more competitive market.
The same in Brasil 😢
I recommended my brother to get the X100, and he's been raving about its camera since. The zoom quality shots are excellent. I am still happy with my x80.
vivo ultra and pure just come out so we need wait minimum 3/4 months vivo x 100 pro go out on september with a lot of updates
Correct it will only improve
Thanks for the good comparison :) Can you compare next time Xiaomi 14 Ultra vs Vivo X100 Ultra, vs Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, please ? :) It will be great :)
S24 ultra is damn smooth and clearer. Video stability is above vivo and huawei.
The vivo’s cat is the best! … just at the details of the cat’s eye!!
Overshappened
NOPE... the Huawei BY FAR
he isnt using 3x portrait on samsung....i kno 3x n 5x portrait is by far superior than othr
The phone in the middle will always get a free boost in stabliziation.
asi es, aun asi el s24 fue superior en estabilizacion
You are the best! Hope that you achieve a million subscribers real soon. Thanks for the comparison
Wow, thank you!
At the end of the day it comes back to preference and budget.
Correct it does.
Huawei has a very promising product here. I think they can solve all the small issues with firmware updates.
Firmware update is on the way now
Great video - but confirmed I don't need to import the Vivo as its not the leap in quality I was expecting or the press had hyped us to believe at least. Will stick with the 14 Ultra I have which as least is a Global version) :)
For night video the s24 ultra takes it. For day video vivo x100 ultra.
For photo the x100 and s24 are very similar
It would be nice to add Oppo find x7 ultra to think comparison. Have you got such plans?
Oppo would've won the daytime 30x zoom that's for sure.
@@muhammadsiddiqaimanbinshar7935 i think portraits are also would be for Oppo.
Pura 70 ultra the best
Eres un boot ?
@@orlandoBcrp it's the best in many camera mode . Nothing is perfect.
Which one has the best animation between switching lenses during video
For video Huawei is washed up. Vivo had trouble with sky flickering. Samsung was decent overall. Pic's overall probably go to the vivo
Although I've a Samsung but Vivo is something else.
I dont understand the bet on " future updates will solve this or that "
These big companies does not have labs and r&D before launching a new phone ?
There is something called "optimisation"
The Huawei camera is great but the best part is build the quality of the phone you can use roughly no problem.
I believe that you should take more photos, because the Vivos`s camera is better than others, specially with the macro mode. Vivo 100 Ultra is the best phone this year include on photos and videos.
Just can't catch a break with the camera phones lol you think one is "the one" and then it'll have some annoying trait like green tints or funny white balance or oversharpening etc
Or it's Sony where it's superb when used right but still has lesser HDR auto and smaller sensors for lesser night performance etc.
Difficult to choose one :)
Cheers to Huawei, they are using an old Gen processor and still on par with Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Vivo X100 Ultra
Thankyou made a vidio and a clerk,
I expect the photo to be taken with a human object and in a chalengging situation
S24 ultra best for balanced shots in every condition , best detail and best selfie.
The RYYB sensor of the Huawei phones ruins the photos with the yellow/green tint, failing to capture night photos true to life, making the indoors seem more lit then they are and failing to capture the low light atmosphere.
I think it was made for night portraits, it makes night portraits great
Pura 70 ultra has imx989 sensor (same as vivo x100 pro), so problem is in the soft. I have p40 with RYYB sensor and it cpatures much better colors in low light than pura.
It's software the main camera is not RYYB.
Thank god i came across this video before making my final pick. My x100 did absolute beast. And cheapest
My dream phone Oppo Findx7 Ultra or Vivo x100 pro/ultra
My goodness the amount of detail on the X100 ultra. Samsung cannot compete. Btw I'm in NZ too, how did you import the X100 ultra 😎.
The best option is to buy one from TradingShenzhen. But it might be stuck in NZ customs with a fee to pay.
Loved the review , Chris! I'm assuming this is the Chinese version? Have you had any other performance issues?
Do you plan to do a x100 ultra battery test? I’d love to watch it!
best selfie camera right out the first few seconds is the Huawei pura 70 ultra. I saw the best stabilization on that and I think the only one with accurate colors.
S24 for me..looks natural and clear..im planning to buy a new phone so I'm here..any recommendations?
Vivo x100 pro still the king of camera 2024
Vivo x100 ultra has poor color rendering. It can be seen that the colors do not match! Red faces.
You are always the first to post the comparisons thank you
huawei wins. with a hipet few years old, it still delivers the best results. wow
I hope after few months vivo x100 ultra will beat all.
Thanks! You need to show the whole images/videos in fullscreen because it's very hard to spot differences in these little columns. For example, oversharpening can appear as real sharpness, etc.
Chris, what (if any)
I would say Honor but you need to pay more but worth it.
Or check out phones from last year xiaomi 13 pro 13 ultra, vvo x90 pro, oppo find x6 pro honor mgic 5 pro there’s plenty now that prices are getting low
Huawei p50 pro
Hi Chris Could You check if on S24u is the anti flicker mode available under developer options?
Thx a lot😊
have the X90 pro plus, if I would buy it would be Vivo again.
Amazing content and camera comprision as always Chris Sir
Hello, do Huwaei P70 can use Android Auto and banking apps? Im worried about using a non android platfrom.
There is a work around to getting Android auto (On TH-cam or Google) working and yes banking apps.
Consistency is the reason, most people stills use Samsung be it on the Camera, ecosystem
The first portrait shot - did Huawei cut the arms!?
She had her arms behind her back
Vivo have big problem with fps drops and sky is flashing when you record
Huawei p 70 ultra is beast
I would buy the vivo but there is no global version and I'm not getting the Chinese version
How about zoom? Which one is the best?
The video at the beginning showing you walking to the coast, the Pura 70 has a pink/red tone to the rocks whereas the other two are more orange. Which one of these 3 were more colour accurate? Thanks in advance if you respond
Should be more red/orange the rocks.
Great review and comparison. IMHO the best at the moment.
I heard that Vivo has auto fps option that caused those freezes. Is it true?
Huawei takes the lead in daylight photos, I think Huawei would've won in night portrait
Vivo is a clear winner, i never own those phone..not a fanboy..but i can say vivo give the most quality that i want
overall vivo looks best here, followed by galaxy s24
S24 ultra still 👑
The front canera is stull thr best ans the overall processing is on point.
Can you add the Xiaomi 14 Ultra too? Please! Id love to see atleast a comparison with Vivo x100 Ultra
Oppo Find X7 Ultra too
Hey.. can u upload nd share the photos takrn by all 3 phone in a google drive.. also i would recommend to follw the same here after..
Lol so huawei has bad cameras?
@@innocentanthony3324 I definitely wouldn't say bad - they seem to have high DXO Ratings - i just prefer the images that come out of the Samsungs compared to Huawei and I tried comparisons owning a P50pro and Samsung Flagship. P60 Pro seemed to be quite a step up but Huawei is very basically functional in terms of software due to lack of Google and general smart features. So for me, I won't even consider a Huawei but everyone has different preferences.
@@zeed5764 I thought you were saying the huawei was bad lol
Nice, Huawei wins in more situations, almost a draw with the Vivo. Pura strong
Hey @TechTablets ! Does your s24 ultra have the camera rattle when you make a video and shake the phone? Thank you!
You may like the vivo but the Huawei is best❤❤❤❤
buy xiaomi 14 ultra or vivo 100 pro now or wait for the vivo 100 ultra?
The first youtuber made the first comparison video ❤ amazing
Yay! Thank you!
Vivo X100 Pro and Ultra beats Samsung's periscoped camera. That Is what I like from Vivo 😎
Also night photos with main cam - damn, that looks so good.
Have you download last vivo camera update?
Yes got it
Which one is the best . tks
