Finally an interesting real review from a normal person. No BS, just straight to the point. Excellent. Thanks to you I will ditch my old Remington stick I bought 15 years ago and upgrade to this nice cutter! Ask Remington for a commission following your review! Who knows? They might sent you a new set for free?
Just bought a set, after using a Braun all-in-1 clipper for last 2-3 years. This Remington is much easier to use, waay faster and less chance of leaving some stragglers behind. Wish I'd seen this 5 years ago, would have got it back then.
I just bought myself this clipper and am waiting for it to arrive, so your review was really great to watch. It's one of the best demos/reviews out there, and gives me a lot more confidence to use it for the first time. Thanks for making the video.
That was the best review on this Remington hair clipper. It shines most when trying cut the shorttest length, so why not focus and showcase that part. And, that is exactly what this man did. He fussed on just cutting the shortest cut possible, and not using the longer cut guides. Bravo. I saw how fast he did it and thats what i wanted to see.
It's taken years off you mate. I've just bought one, I'm 35 and like my hair on the shortest setting and I have a Wahl Magic cordless clippers I usually do it with. This has made it so much easier, no more having to get the Mrs to go around the back for me. I still use the expensive wahl to cut other people's hair
Thanks going to buy one. I bought a fancy beard clipper but it takes forever to do my head with it. I wanted something for fast head shaving. A very helpful review as reading about it I wasn't sure if 1.5 was the shortest or if you could use it without combs. Now I know
Bought one a few weeks ago and it works great! Won't really miss going to the barber and spending $20 there for what I can do with this in 5 minutes at home.
Got mine today. Did a great job. I took off the comb to clean it and forgot to put it back on. Really skinned my head with it. It's a great piece of kit and worth the price.
AMAZING review. You showed the product, the process, the results, and everything you said was relevant. I kept thinking that you were going to shave your eyebrows by accident though. LOL.
I've had 4 of these and absolutely agree with you. Best clippers out there IMO> The first, I bought years ago and was able to carry on using them, via the mains, for ages, after the battery died. The last 2, weren't so reliable and the motor packed up pretty quickly, after the guarantee ran out. Maybe, I should've been more careful about "oiling" etc.etc. Still, I wouldn't buy any other make/model.
I haven't watched your video but am about to. I was searching for the difference between the quick cut and shortcut but had no luck...yet that is! I ended up using the CTRL + F function to search words on the page of the amazon review and found you were the only one to clarify that the difference is that one is waterproof. I also read your opinion on it and agree. I recognized your pic from one of the reviews on youtube, although I didn't watch it yet. I immediately did a search to like the video and subscribe. Thank you for being so thorough! I'm not sure if any of your other videos will apply to me but i'm subscribed either way. Thanks!
Thank you so much for an excellent review. It’s really difficult finding clippers that cut good without a comb, my old Wahl trimmers have dull teeth and refused to cut half way through a trim! So I needed to find a decent quality set, and these seem like they’ll do the job. Ideally I’d want a 0mm cut, but can’t use a wet razor due to scars on the back of my head!
Glad it was helpful Paul. I am still using mine every couple of weeks or so and they are still fine. When I think of how much money I have saved me... :-)
Thank you Russell, I have just decide to go for a bald cut and was making my research for a Clipper or Shaver, and almost bought the Braun Series 5, but I saw your review in amazon about this clippers, and now here haha. Thanks for the info, I already read about you still using yours after all of this time so it is a good sign.
@@RussellPlatten thx . I googled . The new one is called Shortcut Pro . It seems they just changed the name . And u get a better travel bag with the newer one. I might just have to get one for my bald head. Unfort the reviews on Amazon are very mixed. Either people love it or people say the motor died on them , won't recharge, etc .
No Stewart I do not disinfect my clippers. I have been cutting my hair for over 20 years with no issues. The clippers are only used for my head and I use them every 2 to 3 weeks. :-)
As has been said many times in the comments below but is worth repeating, that was a *really* good review. Any chance you could give us your thoughts 18 months down the track?
Yes Simon, I do not use any of the combs and I cut my hair myself. I use different clippers for my beard and have reviewed them too. I love these and they are still going strong, the shape and size makes cutting hair much easier. :-)
Has this stood the test of time and are you still using the Remington? I ask because I saw on Amazon you've more recently reviewed the Phillips and you were happy with the Phillips. Which one are you using long term for your head hair?
The Remington is still going strong. I use it for my hair and the Philips for my beard. I love this clipper, I cut my own hair with it. Much easier than conventional clippers. :-)
Russell Platten thanks for your prompt and useful reply. I wasn't sure whether the Remington had broken down and you'd replaced it with the Phillips. I never cut my own hair but like many am doing so due to the lockdown. I did a Grade 5 using the Remington. It certainly took longer than the 5 minutes advertised on the box! To be fair it was my first time and it had to cut through 9 weeks of very thick hair growth. I was starting to look like one of the Bee Gees😂. It's not done a had job. It did pull a tiny patch of hair leaving a tiny bald patch - I don't know if I pressed too hard? I wouldn't usually have my hair this short but it doesn't look like a home hair cut. 8 out of 10.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Charles. I really like these clippers, I find it much easier and quicker to cut my hair now. I hope you like them too. :-)
Thanks for the video. How is the device holding up? I'm a bit antisocial person, so I'm looking for a device that I can use to do my own haircut. Although I think I'll use the longest comb. I'm curious how it will work with it.
I think I might like to try one of these things . I have been thinking of buzzing all my hair of to the skin , but how would this work on thick shoulder length hair ? seems powerful enough ? what do you think ?
