Got this right before COVID-19 lockdown where I adopted the buzz cut and accepted my balding. Now proudly rocking zero guard with beard. Still going strong rock on
I've had one of these for about 5-6 years and it hasn't let me down. Quick close cut shave and the battery life is respectable. I do use other trimmers and shavers as well for my style because one can't do everything. Full buzz is fine but sometimes you need a straight edge for detailed work and this has a slight curve edge. It does what it claims 😀👍
Just bought one after years of procrastinating and using a conventional electric all in 1 razoe from Braun. This is way easier and quicker, and much less chance of leaving a few stragglers.
Looks like this is exactly what im looking for. I've been using a Remington RX7 which for me takes a while but leaves my head a bit too smooth (i prefer a bit of stubble) and cuts up the back of my neck.
I use this and I like, I like and I use. Yes, I use and I like make it work make it fly, make me look good and don't have to try. I use this and I like it, real easy to use and you know never gonna choose. Make it nice and make it fly, love it and don't have to try.
@@mikebald1 Well, I've never seen an electric go as smooth as a razor shave, but the Skull Shaver Pit Bull goes very close to a razor shave. The eye probably would not tell the difference, and it feels smooth. But I think it grows back a bit faster, so I'm sure it's not quite as short.
Hey mate sorry about my late reply, I used it without the comb attached. The lowest comb attachment is 0.5 grade, I used without the comb to do a 0 grade hair cut
@@mikebald1 hi mike merry xmas mate thanks for reply i cut hair today without comb and it looks great thanks for your response from a lad from Sunderland living in perth western Australia arevyou hammers or spurs or arsenal?
Hello mate, very sorry about my late reply, I have only just seen your message. I'm really glad you liked your new look, have you kept it shaved or did you grow it back out? Thanks for saying hello from Perth! To be honest I'm not any of those, but out of the three, Arsenal have my backing. Hopefully they win the league next season!
I'd probably use it with the #1 or #0.5 attachment. I heard it's difficult around your ears to keep the cut even? And is the cord long enough to use it plugged in if the battery dies or is it just meant to be plugged in while sitting on a table or something? Thanks!
I’ve always found it’s cut evenly around the ears so that is not an issue that you have to worry about. Yes I would say the cord is long enough if you have plug socket within about 1-1.5 metres away. I’ve never actually used it whilst being plugged in so unfortunately I can’t comment
Yes I would say so, I used these to cut my full head of hair before. If you prefer the razor comes with attachments so you could for example take it down to a #3 guard before using the zero guard. Hope that helps :)
Hey mate, sorry for the late reply. It did yank the hair slightly the very first few times but it no longer does. I wonder if it has something to do with the blades being the sharpest when brand new. But after the first week or two I haven’t had any tugging at all since. Hope that helps
Hey, good question, I haven’t actually done a comparison between the clipper and a closed lever on clippers so I can’t say for sure, but yeah I would say from the eye and to the touch, it is equal. Hope that helps!
Thanks for subbing mate and sorry for my late response. Remington is still doing really good so far, would still recommend. Battery life not as long as when I first got it but that is to be expected after constant use, I can still get a few shaves without having to recharge. Saved me lots of money rather than going to a barber for a head shave.
No I use the same device to shave the back of my neck too, I find that it does a great job and takes it pretty close. However you could always use a razor if you want your neck to be super smooth :)

Great to hear it mate, I’m glad you like the shaved head and beard look on yourself! - welcome to the bald brotherhood 💪🏽

Good to know it still holds up well after 5 years. What other model trimmers do you have?
I’ve had one of these for many years and it’s still going strong, best clippers for the scalp.
Thanks for commenting bro, I’m glad you enjoy using these clippers as much as I do :)
What plug charger does it use?
mine uses the UK but depending on what website you order from, you should be able to get a plug for your country

Glad you finally got on mate, it’s going to save you so much time in the long run 👌🏽 thanks for sharing
I ordered this very clipper online, it's on it's way 😊
I will use with a #2 guard

Yes I definitely recommend, I don’t mind the stubble look either to be honest but a bit of shadow can look cool

Haha I like the rhyme
It does a nice job. I've not tried that one. The Skull Shaver Pit Bull is very good, too, and I think it cuts quite a bit shorter.
Hey RJ, ah yes I’ve heard good things about that shaver. I may give it a try. How does the skull shaver compare to a razor shave?
@@mikebald1 Well, I've never seen an electric go as smooth as a razor shave, but the Skull Shaver Pit Bull goes very close to a razor shave. The eye probably would not tell the difference, and it feels smooth. But I think it grows back a bit faster, so I'm sure it's not quite as short.
There must only be about a days worth of growth between the two so that’s pretty good
Great video mike im very happy with my purchase wish i had bought years ago by the way did you use the demo without comb attached?

how often do you oil the blade? thanks.
I’d probably say once every 3-6 months mate
I can't do the detailing right lol using a 3d mirror but my hands all over the place. Talking about the back and sides.
It definitely takes a bit of getting used to, I was the same at first. However practise makes perfect so keep at it mate 👍🏽

No problem bro
Thank you, for me is difficult how to hold the machine in different parts of the head, i have to see several times your video!🙄
You’re welcome 😊 thanks for watching. I actually have a head shave tutorial on my channel which I think would be very useful for you to watch

How well do these perform when the hair is an inch or two long?
Yes I would say so, I used these to cut my full head of hair before. If you prefer the razor comes with attachments so you could for example take it down to a #3 guard before using the zero guard. Hope that helps :)
What’s the length of the clipper at bare blade? I.e, 0.4/0.5mm?
Not sure of the exact length mate but I know it’s 0.5 mm at the maximum, probably more like 0.3mm. Hope that helps
Is there anything like this but that does a #1?
It has a #1 guard
Hey mate, yes it comes with a #1 guard attachment
Perfect
Thanks 😊
Do these not tug and yank the hair out? I bought one some months back and it yanked my short hair bad even after they were oiled.
Hey mate, sorry for the late reply. It did yank the hair slightly the very first few times but it no longer does. I wonder if it has something to do with the blades being the sharpest when brand new. But after the first week or two I haven’t had any tugging at all since. Hope that helps
I have this but what would you use for one length down from the bare blade. It’s slightly too long for me
Hi mate, to be honest one length down from this bare blade would probably have to be a razor shave.
Hello is the grade zero for that clipper equal to the closed lever on an electric set of clippers?
Thanks for the review

@@mikebald1 new sub here! Thanks for the response. How is the Remington doing for you so far?

How do you handle the hair on the back of your neck? Do you shave it off with a razor?
No I use the same device to shave the back of my neck too, I find that it does a great job and takes it pretty close. However you could always use a razor if you want your neck to be super smooth :)
Got it. Thank you!
