Hey Se! First of all, great video! I liked how you really showcased the user experience! At 16:03 you said that this slider with a gimbal is not suited for a cloning effect, however I was wondering if just the slider without the gimbal is precise enough to create that gimbal effect with looping. I would love to hear from you! Cas
Hey Cas, thanks! Yes just the slider by itself without the gimbal is precise enough since the pan movement is controlled by a physical rail. In a way it's even more precise than a motorized pan head since some of those cannot replicate the exact movement again when you turn them off. Since the physical rail doesn't change until you physically adjust it, it can always replicate that movement. Down side of that is of course it takes little manual micro adjustment to get that A to B movement perfectly for the first run. Hope that helps!
@@SePark I meant cloning effect instead of 'gimbal effect' hahaha oops. Also, what option would you recommend for me. Basically I want to make a videoclip with me constantly cloned all over the scene, but to make it more dynamic I want to incorporate some very precise (for the cloning effect to still be able to work) slider shots. I would like to be able to create my own angles instead of just the pan / track you get with the physical rail, but a rhino/edelkrone system is just too expensive for me. Are there other options?
@@cas9859 right. The slider by itself can do that cloning effect but only limited to pan and slide movement. You can’t tilt up and down during the move. There is a new slider by YC Onion called Chocolate Pro Cheese but I haven’t tried it myself to recommend yet.

Hi, I am 14 years old and I like filmmaking a lot but should I already make videos for company's and try to earn money or should I just make videos for fun?
That's awesome you found filmmaking at your age. That's a gift many people never get to experience. No one can give you the perfect advice, but I want to share with you that your highest priority is gonna be protecting the most valuable thing: love for filmmaking. Explorer, learn, and create. If that's making videos that make some money, go for it. If that's making video just for fun, you'll know that's what you gotta do. Whatever you do, be aware of things that make you dislike your passion. Hope that's helpful and I'm wishing you the best for your filmmaking journey!
@@bobmusikk thanks for letting me know about that. Good to know. B&H does ship to Canada so that may be your other option. (unless you live in Nunavut...) I just checked, and they have the 39 in and 24 inch in stock. Hope that helps!
just bought a hotdog v3 and bun to use with my Crane 3 Lab, and i'm a little disappointed to be honest. The gimbal and slider do NOT sync up, so you program in your waypoints and by the time the slider gets to even the first waypoint, the subject/object is not in the part of the frame that you want it to be. I'm not saying it's completely useless, but it's not good. You can't use it to shoot products expecting professional results. If you want to dolly across to a subject and the pan as you go by, that's not happening. You just dont know when it's going to start the pan. So, you have to do it by hand. If you're going to do it by hand then you're better off buying a cheaper motorised slider. I suppose it would be alright doing landscapes and stuff, but as for in studio. I wouldn't buy one. Also as a side note. I didn't receive a spare belt and thread adapter with mine. The slider comes with a 3/8 thread on it so you can't mount a dslr directly onto it, or even a gimbal, you need a 1/4. Many of the video's you see state that the adapter comes with the slider along with a spare band for the motor, it doesn't. So to buy an adapter you can get a cheap one off amazon for $12/$10, but, once it's tight the camera might not point in the correct direction. To buy an adjustable adapter you're talking an extra £35/$40 for the very cheapest and about £100/$120 for a good one. Just be aware of this. Can I recommend it? Not without a firmware update fixing the sync issue. But my guess it isn't going to be fixed. When the slider came out 2 years ago this issue was highlighted. A firmware update was mentioned as a solution, but it's never happened. If it's not been fixed by now, they aint fixing it. Basically, this is good as a toy or a hobby. The other problem I've found is that if you create a waypoint and then move the slider and create a second, it doesnt slowly move to the second point. It will hit the first point and stay on it until until it moves to the second point, and then jump to that. It would be better if it slowly went form point to poin. That way you can "track" a subject. There needs to be 2 video modes, a point select, and a drag mode. What you actually can do is create a first point and then use the joystick on the gimbal to track the object, as the app records what you do with the gimbal between setting a and b. The problem with that is this, if ive already completed the move by hand, what do i need the app for? The app really is limited in this regards. Be aware of the limitations before you buy one.
Bought two of these, both had manufacturing defects with the motors/switches and had to go back. Totally unusable. No response from manufacturer. The build of the motor isn’t great and the parts feel cheap. Even at this price I’d expect more. A note on setup. For first time slider users, you will have to use TH-cam videos to walk you through the setup as the manual is unclear and the English is very poor. It’s so easy and cheap to find someone to do a decent translation. There are no excuses for using bad ‘google translations’ for professional product documentation in 2021.

Hi i from malaysia🇲🇾🇲🇾
Well hi there! Thanks for watching all the way from Malaysia!
It is not great to get all cables with the slider because you pay for all except one.
Sir I am from India any assistant job
just bought a hotdog v3 and bun to use with my Crane 3 Lab, and i'm a little disappointed to be honest.
Hi, sir i am starting my video production and i need a gimbal, I invested my all money in camera. Please help 🙏
hahahahahhaa dont name your slider sausage!!!!
😆😆😆
Bought two of these, both had manufacturing defects with the motors/switches and had to go back. Totally unusable. No response from manufacturer. The build of the motor isn’t great and the parts feel cheap. Even at this price I’d expect more.
A note on setup. For first time slider users, you will have to use TH-cam videos to walk you through the setup as the manual is unclear and the English is very poor. It’s so easy and cheap to find someone to do a decent translation. There are no excuses for using bad ‘google translations’ for professional product documentation in 2021.
Does it work with the DJI RS3 pro?
