    I'll just say it - I think the Mackie DRM18S is offering the most value for your money right now when it comes to 18" powered PA subwoofers. The specs, including a max SPL of 135db and extension to 30Hz, are available at a price hundreds of dollars less than the competition. It's well-built (apart from the control knob) and punches above its price point for sure. I bought this sub with my own money and it won't be the last one!

    Thank you so much! Very good review. Most helpful. I bought the subs because of this video. I already have the SRM V Class tops so I wanted to keep it in the family.

      I just bought the SRM V-Class cabs and plan to buy two of these in about a month. Must be awesome! Any tips you wanna share? By the way I bought the slip covers for the SRMs and plan to do the same for the DRMs.

      @@trevorwoodley3897 They are fantastic. Covers are a great idea. We have gotten lucky a few times outdoors. Play around a bit with the linking the 2 speakers via Bluetooth. We link my phone so we can play music between sets. It can be a bit tricky but not hard after you do it a few times.Enjoy!

    I love my DRM series 212 & 215 mains & actually run them at weddings without a sub. DRM series are wood powered speakers with SPL at 134-135 db & 1600 watts peak. If I eventually want a subwoofer the DRM 18 is a great fit. I have ran the DRMs for 4 years at events including weddings.

    Ughh. I knew I should've gotten a pair of these. I settled on a pair of Thump 18S so I could use the extra cash on a pair of Thump GOs for monitors but I just got a demo of these & they're on a completely different tier.

    I just got my second sub I order it last year in June and it was on back order. Would you say that it’s better to have them at the 80 hz? Or what set up would give me the most bass? Bass that you can feel.

    Do you think a line array such as a Harbinger MLS 1000 from Guitar Center would be a waste for karaoke etc. or a pair & a EV 12" powered sub for weddings or not powerful enough?? compared to DRM series?

    Hi, is the difference big between the drm to the sr 18s from mackie? I bought the SR 18 S and to be honest there is not a lot of pressure from the bass

    I have a Mackie SRM 15” powered speaker and bought the DRM18 to pair with it. Is the subwoofer compatible with the SRM series? Im having trouble getting any sound out of it from the 15” speaker.

    Just sold my pair after about a year. These subs can punch and play frequencies lower than 30hz which is audible outdoors. In my opinion the drivers seem too powerful for the enclosure. The sub crawls a lot.

    Have anyone ever tested this up against a JBL Partybox 1000 ?

    • @campingwithale
      @campingwithale 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      First of all this is a powered PA performance subwoofer, not a full range speaker. I'm positive this would completely annihilate any partybox Bluetooth speaker.

      Before buying mine, I did an outdoor shootout against the JBL prx818xlf. We all agreed that Mackie had a better punch and throw.JBL had more vibration, more headroom on the amp but the driver sounded like it was reaching excursion limit.
