Incredible video! Learned more in 20 minutes than I have in 10 years playing shows

I hope that you are not working in this environment, because it shouldn’t take long to understand the basic principal and to set it up.

@UCjaf0CxnYIk-nqfB8WBcHhw I’m just talking about the reality in our society. We don’t have time to teach for 10 years to learn that. I also liked the video and it’s pretty straightforward which is really good. You also don’t know me to judge me if I know everything better. It’s not my character and I do work in that environment.
Just where i live, it’s not allowed to work if you don’t have any degree in it. Ideally bachelor/ master as audio engineer or apprenticeship as an audiovisual technician which takes up to 3-4 years. Many neighbouring countries don’t require any diplomas and the majority of the countries do whatever they see fit in creative studies. So complicated sometimes.
However, I wish you a Happy New Year and all the best for 2023 👌

I have to agree with the majority. This is such an informative video and presented/edited perfectly for a concise and understandable demonstration of a basic live setup. I’m glad that it has given people confidence to setup there own gear. It is rare to see such information delivered this way on TH-cam so well done for achieving it.

I bought an audio mixer today with 10 Channel, 4 Mikrofon, 2 Boxes! Well, i'm a "pure beginner", have no idea about all that buttons, first time in my life when i'm playing with these buttons! I barely connected the Boxes and Mikes🤷‍♂️
But after your video, tommorow i'll mix it😂
    Thanks!

Very good video! I've been a sound tech for 45 years. You have explained the basics very clearly! For our 7-piece band, especially on a smaller stage, we use a single floor monitor in front of the lead vocalists/piano player in Aux 1, and 2 side-fill monitors on a tripod stand for the band from Aux 2. That seems to cover the stage for us rather nicely.

Incredibly informed video that’s laid out in a way that just about anyone can understand! I really appreciate this video, I’m in the process of getting PA’s and some stuff for my keyboard set up at shows. I have an AKAI MPC KEY 61 and I make beats with a singer as well so I need speakers with a full response range and be able to kick some sounds out as well!
Your setup tips for placing PA’s makes so much sense and have played countless bars that almost set up the entire opposite design that you have and I hear constant feedback and issues with tone from the speakers. Greatly appreciate this tutorial!!

Usually the problem with subs on each side of the stage creates a power alley and bass cancelation in the middle of the room. It’s much better to place a couple of subs centered in front of the stage in cardioid mode

I’m a Dj and I never use a mixer. I’ve always gone straight from the mixer into the powered speakers. I guess for me I see the mixer as another piece of gear to lug. I do have xlr outputs and quarter inch for my main, monitor, and source out. That enables me to use my mixer as the mixer lol. Main to speakers and booth to sub woofer produces excellent results for me😊 Nice video here👍🏾

Hello from the USA! I'd most appreciate your comment about this: My Bose S1 Pro has had a pretty poor volume output when I plug in a dynamic microphone like a Shure SM58. I just came to know about Lo-Z to Hi-Z transformers, and purchased a Shure A85F. $21 from Amazon USA. Wow, man! Such a dramatic improvement in the volume output! However, I would NOT use this with a mixer, and ONLY when I plug a microphone directly into a PA speaker like the Bose S1 Pro. At sensible volumes the device does not cause feedback. It also maintains sound quality. Wondering if you have had experience with these devices. The S1 Pro DOES NOT have Phantom Power support which is why I was delighted to find out about these transformers. Another one I've seen sold is Little IMP.

Thanks for the tutorial. I've been gigging for 2 decades but I picked up some knowledge here. Question if you dont mind...I'm still getting a lot of feedback from my fold back monitor when I crank it up loud enough to hear my acoustic guitar and vocals. I play mostly solo at loud restaurants and bars. Using a hypercoidal dynamic mic, electric acoustic that does tend to feedback.

I would have 2 important questions, if I may:
1- I only have one speaker, column array type; where would you place it if we are two singers, live karaoke type of setup.
2- I have the exact same mixer but the 12 channel and
    I have as many eq on my speaker than on my mixet;
how would you set the eq on the speaker so I can maximize my eq controls on my mixer ?
