as a sketchup user that has recently gotten into laser work this caught my attention. one of the things about most desktop and prosumer lasers is that the cut depth is very limited. I would not see how a laser would be useful in turning this model into reality, except maybe for detail on the clock face. Open Cut List will be useful to map the various components onto material stock. Glad to see there is thinking about lasers and cnc at sketchup.
Been great watching the recent videos for laser cutting s just getting into laser engraving myself and this has been great inspiration to using SketchUp as part of my design process. would you be able to do a video on how you would design and plan doing living hinges to create curved elements using SketchUp.
ABF is the best so far - it is doing all of this automatically, including nesting, not just layout.! There are other options that may be more automatic than ABF... but I haven't tested them yet.!

I was just hired to draw up some church furniture in SketchUp and was making up cut lists. Thanks Tyson!
