This Park sign describes "the Snake"
"You are standing at the top of curves that road enthusiasts affectionately call "The Snake". Over the years Mulholland Highway has tested the merits of cars from Duesenbergs to Teslas. This particular stretch of road is a mecca for motorcyclists. It's sharp turns offer an adrenaline rush and a chance for fun, fame and often folly.
To your left is "Edwards Corner". It was named after the late Ed Savko, long-time owner of the Rock Store., a popular road house just down the hill. Hundreds of riders have (----) on this challenging 180- degree curve, perhaps showing off for spectators, who often gather here. Other succumb safely to the charm of "The Snake." "

More big boys need to ride. Been riding street for 5 years and trails for about 7 and it has been a huge help in myself losing nearly 100 pounds. Not only does riding hard burn calories, it also motivated me to slim down so I look like less of a goofball on my r1. Ride on brothers and sisters!
I am 65 ,and ride an R1. Talk about goofball. Who cares, I love it.
Remember...ALL DIETS WORK...it's the human will/discipline that fails the diet..not the diet itself...anything else is failed logic & a lie.

I’m 70lbs overweight (used to be 50lbs heavier than that, dropped a lot) and it really made me feel better seeing that big bloke. I commute on a 2022 CB300R, looks sporty and lean, and sometimes I worry I look chunky on it, despite the well-fitted jacket. Big man here is a huge inspiration. May be massive, but he’s skilled as all hell and looks cool doing it.

Same, it looks like it takes a lot more skill to balance all that mass up higher on the bike. Compounded with the strength and effort needed to hold heavier limbs in place, etc.

You gotta realize that us fat guys have an easier time getting a bike over, and we don't have to hang off the bike as much. If I had leathers, I could get footage of me on the rack. Playing in traffic the way I do can be a bit self-incriminating :P

+creaturedoublefeature that's because cruisers aren't as much fun to ride . they don't go fast they can't corner for shit . just me but that is what makes riding fun , not just sitting there going in a straight line. I have owned my fair share of cruisers as well over my 22 years of riding

Your videos are one of the reasons we visited The Snake on our California roadtrip (from The Netherlands). Really cool to see the doggy two-up live! I do hope the guy that crashed his green Kawasaki that day is ok.

+cobalt3001 Great meeting you too. The guy who crashed had three broken ribs and a broken collar bone. He was up last week & looks good but still in pain.
I’ve put a couple hundred thousand miles over a few motorcycles riding everywhere I can, I used to commute to work 160 miles a day, go on vacation etc etc on my bike. I never understood the whole knee dragging thing. Usually I rise off the pegs and lean the bike under me, I sit upright and sit on the side of the bike.
I have mixed emotions for the dog. But fuck it he is probably having a blast. I bet that dog jumps on the bike himself when it is time to ride.

I remember when Mulholland Canyon was the place to go to party, get away from the valley, and downhill skate. Around mid to late 70's the bikes started showing up and people started dying. Then CHP was out in force. Good times GONE FOREVER...
