I am legally blind. I am totally blind in one eye. The other I can see clearly to the end of my nose. After that everything is a multi coloured moving blur. I use a cane. I have been blind from birth and I am now 62. I'm pretty good at getting around. A few months back I was in a Airport. When I end up in a crowd of people the best and safest thing for me to do is to stay still. On this day that is what I did. The next thing I know a loud voice is screaming at me. Calling me a old white privileged bitch and a lot more. I better get out of their way or. From behind me came a very very deep voice. Or what? No answer from the voice infront. Deep voice, this lady is blind and you need to say sorry. Which was done fast. My guardian angel stayed with me until my plane left. He never told me his name. I asked several times. What I can tell you is his blur was really really big and I have never felt so safe. Thank you young man for helping this old blind woman. You are for ever in my prayers. God bless you.

I can not believe how some people can treat others like they do. The Blind woman needed the Cane, and weather or not the Entitled mother knew she was Blind or not, she had absolutely ZERO right to take the Cane(or in this case let her child take it) Because it was not Hers to take. People like that are the reason I hate to go out, but on the other hand, the guy that helped her and got her Cane Back is a Hero. I do not care how he cane her cane back for her, but it doesn't matter. Only because Karma had taken it's course.

Im a plumber and had a boiler job where I was allowed to keep the scrap copper from the old system which ended up being about $2500 . I pulled up to a local scrap yard and I could tell the owner was excited to see all the copper ,he had just took over the business from the gentleman that I had dealt with for years. I am in the middle of unloadingth scrap into drums to be weighed when this old man probablyin his late 80'shad pulled up and started to unload little grocery bags with crushed cans ,the new owner sees the crushed cans and begins screaming angrily at the old man for bringingcrushed cans ,and how he won't be cheated by the old man hiding rocks in them ,the poor old guy looks terrified and drops his bag of cans as this guy scream. As this is happeningin a matter of 30 secondsor so I decided to grab my scrap and I dump the barrel in the bead of the truck with a loud crash startling both men. The owner comes over and asks me what I'm doing also I am considerably larger than the owner who was just a second using his size to intimidate a old man so I step up in front of him and say that he has just lost my business and that of anyone I know for how he treated this old man .the owner storms off mumbling as I help the old man pick up his bags an I offer to give him 20$ for his cans which was probably 15 more than there worth ,he happily accepts and helps me put them in my truck. he then thanks me for helping him as he sees the scrap yard owner looking at him with daggers out the window ,in a straight up clint east wood move he flips him off and spits on the ground as he gets in his car to leave. Please remember to treat people with respect and if your able to help someone in need to do it without hesitation.

For the first story i can kinda agree that being blind is not fun, i may not be blind but when i was in the second grade the teachers got together and decided to teach us second graders how it would be like to be blind so if we saw a blind person, we would kinda know what it would be like. I had a lot of difficulty getting around blindfolded and trying with the blind cane. Even the special letters was hard to understand. But i can understand on how AG reacted with that woman and her child taking the cane as blind people need it to get around. So the AG is not the jerk and the entitled mother and devil kid were in no right of doing what they did.

I happen to be blind and I speak from experience when I say that people can be cruel! For those of you who do not know there are a wide variety of technology and apps and programs that allow a blind person to do many things that might seem impossible for a sighted person to wrap their minds around. Sure as a blind person we have certain things that we may not be able to do due to lack of vision however don't ever simply assume that a blind or otherwise disabled person is not capable of typing. We can do anything that we set our minds to. We will ask for help if we need it. It was wrong of that other woman to take that canwe. How would à sighted person feel if their independence was stolen from them? I dare any sighted person to spend a week in the shoes of a blind person! They wouldn't last one day.

Histoplasmosis is a lot more common than one would think. My best friend got it when living in Montreal, or at least that is what we think. Over a period of 40+ years, the histoplasmosis fungus caused the growth of blood vessels in the backs of her eyes. She was not aware of what was happening until some of these blood vessels burst in one of her eyes; by that time, it was too late for any effective treatment for that eye. She said that it was like looking through crushed glass.

It's hard to believe there wasn't anyone around when the first Karen accused the woman of faking her blindness. The brat was taught to act as he did, when he stole her cane. If he keeps that up as he gets older, someone is going to teach him a lesson he won't forget
That second woman was right in how she handled Tommy's mom. That woman sounds like she's been abused by her husband, given how she started calming down as mom spoke to her. It also sounds as though that woman could use a safe place where she and her son can live.

Animal worms do that which is why you should be so dedicated to ensuring your animals are always worm free. I don’t know if that was the cause of excrement being freed into the water but it gives a chance to pass on the fact of regular worming and correct disposal of their faeces

I had a friend in high school who was “legally blind.” Basically she can see a bit if it’s light out but if it’s cloudy she can’t see at all. She had a specialized keyboard that has ten finger-sized buttons with a switch to change the buttons to different letters.
Idk how it works, but it worked for her.

as of recently, i've been in the league of "blind". i have "vision" but it's complicated. i'm currently waiting to have surgery to fix my eyes so that i can at least get some decent vision. with this situation looming on me, there's always the posibility that i could go blind over the surgery. the odds are on my favour so i'm gonna be fine, but i could go blind nonetheless.
hearing the blind woman's story, it creates a lot of fear in me personally because there is the posibility that i could be in the same situation as her, i have experienced a moment of what it would be like to BE blind through volunteering in visual impairment support organizations, in workshops and such to really understand what it's like to be blind and visually ompared. and it's terrifying. i can totally imagine myself panicking over having my cane being stolen, essentially my "eyes" being ripped out of my hand and left in a place i don't know. i'm glad that the man helped the woman out but this only makes me worry more about myself and what could happen.
PSA: help blind people if they TRULY need it but don't just come out of nowhere to help. ask. don't just go in and rake control away from them. they are people like you and i. fuck that entitled woman for stealing the cane. there's a special place in hell for her.

In the first story. I found it kind of dumb that people were asking how she was typing. If you spent a lot time typing on a computer, u'll eventually learn where the keys are based on muscle memory and most importantly by where the two main keys are, the F and J keys which is the two that have indentation for you to feel for when you start typing. Because these you don't need to constantly look down when you type and the same could be said for blind folk as the writer stated she wasn't born blind. Plus there are special laptop designed for blind people.
Even if this point wasn't the case what's preventing her from using her husband as a proxy? This point wasn't even worth digging into as there are obvious answers to this question.

I'm also blind, but thankfully through some several surgeries I got a good amount of sight in one eye back, enough to even read incredibly large font size. And I'm talking like 20 and up size. But before The surgeries I was actually also at a Walmart when somebody slammed into me when I was just standing in that little area in front of the entrance by the people greeters. This guy started yelling at me and he actually yelled,
    "What are you f**king blind?!?"
I happen to be wearing a pair of cheap sunglasses but I was still holding my big red and white cane in my hand, so I turned and the guy's direction and I replied.
"Actually, yes I am. What the hell is your excuse?"
I don't know if it was his wife or his girlfriend that was with him but she was incredibly apologetic but the guy actually wanted to fight me. The large man in that story is correct, some people are just assholes.

5:45 so fungal infections usually are ratively easy to treat, once you figured out, what alcohol or other substance you need to pop it's cells, but for fungi, which are hardly studied, it may take a while to figure out what exactly you can kill them with, because fungi are masters of consumption and manufactoring of complex organic molecules, that in term means, that they can do a whole lot of either damage or hiding from your immune-stytem, while maybe actually consuming whatever medication might be carelessly put in to treat it. So you basically have to take samples of the fungus and plate a lot of colonies in different medicines but all of them have to basically be in an environment almost identicaly to where they are in the Body, because you don't know how the behaviour changes in different conditions. If yeast is at the conditions, it makes a sugar molecule into a lot of CO2 and water instead of alcohole, some fungi can have different resistances for substances.

Blind people have programs that read out what they typed and there are Braille keyboards. I knew someone who was legally blind, she could see but practically hardly anything at all, and had a special set up massive magnifying glass over screen and it would read out everything. There are a lot of things out there for blind people so they can have as much of a normal life as possible.

    About the story #1.
You don't need any particular stuff to be able to type. In fact there are ALSO, "dotted" keyboard for each key that can help you if you have learnt the blind signs. I don't see it so weird being able to type. Also, if you are pretty "skilled" with a keyboard because you use it a lot for work or gaming, it's pretty easy to memorize the layout and every single key. It's so much time that i work with PCs (i have a laboratory, i do make often programming and other tech stuff) that when i type i don't even watch my keyboard. It has become so natural. So i don't see why a blind person can't do that. Asking "how are you typing" is just stupid.

Normally, I love the retribution the Karen's/entitled people get. But the ending of the second story was 100 times better
I know entitled people don't always understand what actually or what others are going through (mother in the first story for example), but in the end they are human beings too and may also be going through some rough times, just something to keep in mind

That second story doesn't need retribution, if anything I prefer that ending much better. The so-called entitled mother wasn't even all that entitled. Like the OP said, she was scared and worried for her son. I think she was actually a good mother to care so much, and even willing to calm down from her panic and come to an agreement with OP that might even help her son even more. And I do hope that both her and her son get away from that drunken bastard.

I'm neither a tank nor a gigachad, but I'm pretty sure I'd be doing exactly the same thing in that situation anyway (TBH, even before it got to the point where the guy appeared, what was going through my head as I was listening to this was basically "Are you OK? Don't worry, you're safe, and you'll be fine right where you are. Please wait here a moment and I'll be right back with your cane."). I think the only difference is I would have probably also been saying "Can somebody please call the police?" as well.
Just seems like the obviously right thing to do, to be honest. It is always reassuring to hear that what _should_ happen was also what actually _did_ happen, though.
