You’ve just opened the door to your new favorite band. There is no one better. Great song to start with. May I suggest your next song be The Grudge from the Lateralus album. Enjoy the ride through Tool
Nothing is better than hearing a new TOOL tune for the first time. A VERY close second is watching someone experience TOOL for the first time. Welcome, TOOL fan. You've joined the army.🤘
Welcome to Tool! Good song as an introduction to this incredible band. Four musicians who are musical geniuses and they are all members of Tool. Loads to spiral out to in their amazing catalogue - Schism, Lateralus, The Grudge, Descending, Invincible, Pneuma (live drum camera is a must too for this one) 46&2, Sober, Stinkfist to name a few. Enjoy this rabbit hole my friend
The lead guitarist of this band was roommates with the guitarist from Rage Against the Machine. Both started in the early 90’s. Tool is like one of the last ones left from that period. Still making amazing music. Good reaction and I promise you if you keep going with these guys you won’t be sorry. Total game changer. That is all ✌️
It took me about 1 minute of Stinkfist for Tool to become one of my favourite bands of all time. Still in my top-3. That was two decades ago. Just saw them live again the other day. Best concerts ever!

Welcome to the Tool journey. I knew we had you the second you started. Lmao. It’s amazing to experience a person discovering Tool for the first time 30+ years after most of us in love with them. The Pot is a great song…they all are… but is far far far from their best. It’s a good starter song, for sure. Tool is unlike ANYTHING you’ve ever heard, no question. Do yourself a favor… read the lyrics. And take some time, away from the camera, to just lay in the dark with your best headphones and let go. It only gets more astonishing.
I LOVE that you realize you can’t find the beat! When I went to see Tool live, I had the same reaction. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve ALWAYS known where the beat is and what the meter is. ( Come from a musical family and a musician myself) I was bopping along at the concert - definitely cerebral music. Suddenly I realized I couldn’t find the meter. The music was brilliant. I quickly got my phone out and Googled the musicians, especially the drummer. And there it was: Danny Carey has a jazz background and is known for mixed meters and polyrhythms. When I got home from the concert, I went down the rabbit hole on TH-cam and stumbled across “Pneuma” filmed by Vic Firth Drums, which meant the cameras were all fixed on Danny Carey. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched that video - just stellar in every way! You MUST see that one and see what a beast Danny is. Enjoy! (I’m enjoying your videos on Tool!)
saw them again for the second time in 12 years in toronto on the 20th of november. they were even better than the first time i'd seen them and 3 of the 4 members are _much_ closer to 60 than 50 now. the craziest thing to me is that danny is the oldest and _over_ 60 years old still playing a two and a half hour set playing their craziest songs still night after night. gotta respect the crap out of all of them, but watching justin shaking the tightness out of his hands after every song is so understandable to me, i have no idea how he can even play the bass like that at all, let alone for two hours plus straight, over and over again.
Welcome to Tool my dude. This is only the beginning…the rabbit hole is very deep my friend. Excellent musicianship, song writing, tone, feel. This band is incredible. This is music than can change outlooks on many things.🤘
Welcome to the Tool Army. I've been listening to these guys since I first heard them in the early 90s. When these dudes came on the radio, you knew they were a class unique from everyone else. Still are.
Finding lyrics to the songs are important. Maynard writes some thoughtful, introsoective stuff. Progressive rock genre. Inventive and creative like Pink Floyd the way they sound like no other rock band. So much individual talent working together seamlessly.
The Pot is indeed the perfect entry-level TOOL song...but trust us all when we say it is only the first inch down the rabbit hole. We look forward to watching your tumble. Much love, brother.
Tool is IMO the best so called progressive rock band in existence. Buckle up for a wild ride...and then when you think your done you can go and listen to 'A Perfect Circle' same lead vocalist different band members. Enjoy them all and please share them with your mates!
They cover Led Zeppelins song No Quarter - that alone should say a lot about Tool and Led Zeppelin. You should do both bands version and compare. Lucky to have seen them live and been rocking them since I was first learning snowboarding and they just came on the scene. DEEP Rabbit hole on this one. You have so many bands to discover.... 46+2
This song is SOOOOOO Intense. Tool Formed in 1990 and have been one of the most popular bands in music history ever since the mid 90's. 😃😃 WTF is right. This slays Alligator balls.
Not sure if metaphysical rock is a genre, but that’s how I’d describe Tool. Favorite band of all time. Happy to watch someone experience it for the first time. Thank you
I'm not going to try to take credit here (well, maybe a little), but I suggested Tool to you on a couple of your Pink Floyd reactions. SO GLAD you did it, and I'll bet you are too! They're obviously a lot harder than Floyd, but there are similarities in that the music is very complex and interesting with meaningful and creative lyrics. Lots of great songs to pick from and the Tool army will really boost your subs.
Can't imagine hearing this as my first Tool song as I had to wait almost 14 years after I started listening to them to get treated to little gem. As for where it ranks in Tool's catalog is very debatable because they have written so many great songs. For me, it's definitely in my top-10 but maybe not in my top-5, so keep listening and I'm certain you will enjoy your journey!
For sure, live sober, and I have seen a lot of reactors do that one. So, no copyright stuff it would seem. Though, I don't honestly think tool cares much if people are reacting. I see a lot of vids out there.
Maynard James Keenan is a true genius artistically and musically and in real life I'm so happy that you've discovered him and just one of his multiple bands...enjoy brother welcome to the fan club.😊
I'm 46 and have been listening to Tool since 1993. I have adult kids now and let my son use my suv. It came back to me with a new deck, an amp and 2 12s in the back. I was kinda mad at first cause the box took up so much grocery space but I put this album on and turned it up and ohhhhh myyyy glob. I kept the system until i got rid of that vehicle lol I probably looked ridiculous as a (then) 40 year old woman bumping tunes that loud but idc. Tool is my church. Welcome to the army. We're happy to have you=)
🤘🤘🤘 Let's go! James Maynard Keenan on vocals (legend), Adam Jones on guitar, Danny Carey on drums (legend), and Justin Chancellor on bass. Amazing band with some truly amazing music
Maynard James Keenan, otherwise, absolutely agree. Also, great reaction. The Tool rabbit hole is deep and Tool are life-changing, if you let them, hence the name Tool. Use the music and messages as a tool to inform your life. The band has been making music for over 30 years, and I've been a fan for over 20. Yes, this song is a great introduction to Tool, but the best advice I can give you is to listen to the first EP through to the latest release, "Fear Innoculum". They don't have a bad song, so no matter how you choose to experience them, you will come out the other side better than when you went in. Just sayin'.
I was never a big Tool fan never gave them a chance but when I found this song it was like discovering a new band, and they have a lot of other great Tunes❤
If you react to Tool, the Tool Army will follow. We all love watching people get exposed to Tool for the first time.

No words is a great reaction to hearing Tool for the first time. Mind Blown!! Love it.
Still are.
Tool is a great surprise! Can't wait for you to dive deeper in there great music
Welcome to the rest of your musical life, you've got some catching up to do but I'm here for it 👍
Finding lyrics to the songs are important. Maynard writes some thoughtful, introsoective stuff. Progressive rock genre. Inventive and creative like Pink Floyd the way they sound like no other rock band. So much individual talent working together seamlessly.
This one is hard even with the lyrics. Lmao
But for sure with the others...lyrics are important
The Pot is indeed the perfect entry-level TOOL song...but trust us all when we say it is only the first inch down the rabbit hole. We look forward to watching your tumble. Much love, brother.
Listening to any Tool song is a journey!
Yes!! I equate it to a religious experience. I know many of us do. It's exciting seeing new fans being made.
I'm so glad you reacted to this. Musical genius at work.......
Welcome to the world of Tool.
Tool is IMO the best so called progressive rock band in existence. Buckle up for a wild ride...and then when you think your done you can go and listen to 'A Perfect Circle' same lead vocalist different band members. Enjoy them all and please share them with your mates!
Nice reaction! I'm a fan for like 20 years and in 2 month I will see them live for the first time here in Germany. Can't explain my hypelevel 💥
this is the best Tool gateway song for a good reason :D
Ive heard this so many times ... and I still find new elements everytime I hear it )) I can honestly say , I never tire of Tool tunes !!
I AM SO HAPPY WERE HERE! About time babe, great job
This song is SOOOOOO Intense. Tool Formed in 1990 and have been one of the most popular bands in music history ever since the mid 90's. 😃😃 WTF is right. This slays Alligator balls.
Remember when the sober video came out?
Not sure if metaphysical rock is a genre, but that’s how I’d describe Tool. Favorite band of all time.
Happy to watch someone experience it for the first time. Thank you
they have so so so many great songs!!
And here we are, we're in this room now.
Probably the best song for an introduction to Tool. That said, this is an incredibly deep rabbit hole. Enjoy!
Also, you've been reviewing a lot of good music... was wondering when you were going to get to the pinnacle (along with Rush, Primus, etc.)
What’s it classed as? Masterpiece. Perfection. An experience. A whole ‘nuther level. Welcome to the Tool Army.
It's fun to see people's gears start turning trying to figure out what's going on love Watching people hear these guys for the first time!
Check out live performance of “Sober”. His vocals are amazing live as well.❤
For sure, live sober, and I have seen a lot of reactors do that one. So, no copyright stuff it would seem. Though, I don't honestly think tool cares much if people are reacting. I see a lot of vids out there.
That face - the first time hearing Tool. Welcome, my friend and enjoy the journey!
My head was bobbing with you throughout the video.
Welcome to the best band in the world.
I’ve been waiting to suggest Tool. If you like this, prepare for an experience.
Welcome to the Army, son
I was never a big Tool fan never gave them a chance but when I found this song it was like discovering a new band, and they have a lot of other great Tunes❤
Welcome to Tool young man! Love your reactions.
Appreciate it!!
Forty Six & 2 is a good one to do for your next Tool. Aenima is the greatest dis track I have ever heard. So many great tracks.
I'm sitting here so fkn happy for you lol. I'm a huge TOOL fan for the last 30 years. Welcome to the Army son. Spiral tf out!
This is your first listen to Tool and it's your favorite. I will say the next song will be your favorite and so on..... Have fun! 🌀✌️
