This is a great video...it makes the game look so much better and even gave me a big fps boost.... I only changed to things which was high quality color (a hit to fps but one I can accept) and sharpness I left at one because there was a wierd shimmering effect over the tree's and bushes. The sharpness cleared it up right away though.
Like it! Seems to work pretty well on 4k monitor with rtx2070 Super. However, if I picked the higher, non-native resolutions, I'm taking too much of an fps hit. So doing everything you recommend at native resolution performs a lot better. 77fps on Woods at the moment. Hopefully I can upgrade this gpu in the near future to better bring it in line with running the game at 4k. Thanks again and keep up these in depth videos. Very helpful. Before I was just running DLSS on balanced and getting great fps, but trees, water, and fog looked like an oil painting. Really appreciate the clarity boost here.
I'm in a similar situation. I actually downscale slightly. Dlss to .75 while running my native 1440p just to get slightly better fps. I'll be trying out these settings to see if I can instead get the same or better graphic fidelity without an fps hit, which would be ideal.
Wooow i didn't expect that much of your little trick but it is amazing how much better EFT is running now , thanks a lot i have a blast playing now , no more stuttering or anything. Again thanks a lot :)
Finally, someone who uses DLDSR with DLSS and showcasing them. DLDSR is actually insane when used with DLSS or AMD FSR 1.0 in Tarkov. I have RTX 3080, i9 9900k with 2x16gb ddr4 3200mhz rams. My CPU bottlenecks my GPU at 1080p so I MUST use DLDSR at all times. I am using DLDSR 2880x1620 Resolution in Tarkov, all of my settings are maxed out(except object lod and overall visibility). With these settings I surely am getting higher fps in-game compared to playing with lowest settings at 1080p. Whole gaming world must know this DLDSR because it's absolute magic
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!!!!!! FINANALY USING MORE 40-50% of my RTX 3060 TI , Now 80 - 90 % GPU usage... with a 30-40 FPS Boost across maps... Game looks AWESOME!!!!! I am SO Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Using 27" LG 1080p 144hz Gaming Monitor and DLDSR 2560 x1440 with 33% smoothing + your NVidia control panel and in game settings ( no DLSS or POST FX) History : I upgraded from a GTX1650 Super last Fall just for Tarkov and was supper disappointed after spending all that Money to see such a small improvement. I tried everything mentioned on TH-cam about "how to fix low GPU usage" but nothing worked. I was told by everyone "Tarkov is a CPU intensive game" FYI: I have a 9900K / 32GIG Ram and CPU USAGE stayed the same 40- 50 % witch is great for temps. P.S. The FPS stays consistent no matter what I am looking at. (before it was all over the place) God Bless you and your family and thanks again!!!!!!! an
i just upgrade to a amd ryzen 7 5800x3d + rtx 2070. using 24' 144hz 1080p monitor. u think dlss on will give me fps boost? i play in 1920x1080 resolution
The only issue i have with this are the scopes, if the scopes would look better I'd run this no questions asked, but I think I'll run it anyways just to try it
I don't play Tarkov but I used DLSS and DLDSR (upscale to 1440 from 1080) on Modern Warfare 2. Get a solid 144fps and my image looks a lot clearer now.
I was hoping more people knew about this increible sorcery and then I found your video, thanks for showing the people what DLDSR+DLSS can do!!!!! Btw if you are running dldsr+dlss quality, you do not need antialaising at all.
At 8:00 you are not so clear: select the one you wanna use. But If One is not expert and has a large monitor with 1440 basically on everything a good card, ram etc.. what should use? The top one or the lower one? I think the second last is better not to push it too much? but I just don't know what is the best for a mix of quality but also performance. Maybe the 3400 x 1920?
This has really improved quality and I actually got a slight FPS boost. Glad you called out the low latency settings and how NVIDIA Reflex is supposed to manage that. Question - what scopes are impacted? I see comments on this and I definitely see a blurry view in the Vudu 1-6x, but are there others?
@@aidanmaguire4740 Just fyi any monitor that mentions reflex, it's not built into the monitor as Reflex is more so a GPU feature to keep the render queue empty. A monitor with Nvidia Reflex means the Latency Analyzer that support this function. Tarkov does have this built in via the in game setting called "flash indicator.
@@ChippaWubba hey bro so apparently the blurry images when using DLSS are caused by post processing effects. Specifically film grain, DOF, chromatic aberration, lens flare etc so turning those off might help. Also unless your running DLSS quality your resolution will underscale so like 4k at DLSS performance is closer to 720p. So running DLSS quality at your preferred resolution might help. Anyway not sure if you have fixed since your video but as I am ordering a new 3070ti soon I would be curious to see if turning off your post processing and running quality Dlss fixes the blurry images. Gg
@@aidanmaguire4740 hey mate. All testing was done on DLSS Quality setting as you mentioned, it's not worth going any lower due to the upscaling. DLSS blur is still there and very noticeable on recordings like native 1440p upscaled from 960p. The main issue is scopes and PIP. Tarkov appears to render this at a lower res but it's also effected by DLSS so looks like crap. Can also be seen in other games with DLSS as well.
I was pretty sad that my first rtx card couldn't play cyberpunk at a high a resolution and have max ray tracing at 30fps, but DLSS and DLDSR is MAGIC, absolute wizardry and the game somehow looks better than native. Upclose rough materials lose that native resolution sharpness but everything else just looks 10x better., my game finally looks like those crazy max settings, 100+ graphics mods videos. Can't wait to try it with other games.

R7 5800x3d 3080 FTW 64GB 3200mhz cl16 1440p native monitor I am using Chippa's nVidia control panel settings from this video, except I cap my frames in the control panel at 142 to play nicely with my 144hz monitor. And I have vertical sync as Use Application Setting as well, because I use it. Tarkov settings Physical cores and RAM cleaner NOT checked VSync checked in game, monitor GSync is on Fullscreen Textures high Shadows low LOD 2.5 Visibility 1000 DLSS Quality (DLDSR on 1.78x) HBAO High (I tried this vs High Performance and there was no difference) SSR Off Anisotropic per texture Post FX on Because my frame rate is capped, my PC usage is effectively capped as well. CPU Usage sits at about 20% GPU Usage sits at about 60% Frame rate sits rock steady at 141 FPS on all maps, indoors and outdoors, except Lighthouse. On LH, it has been somewhere in the 130s on average, dips to 120 and rises to 141, but hasn't fallen below 120. Overall, I am very happy with these results, considering my GPU usage has been unpredictable. Sometimes 50-60% and sometimes 98-99%, but frame rate was all over the place.
chippa how does your stash and inventory look so bright and stuff like the background of rare items or heals are bright red behind the item or bright purple idk if its a filter for the video or if its just like tthat id really like to know
Thats a solid video. Improved around 15-20 fps on every map, using it on all maps but Woods, cuz to me it just seems a little "off?" on woods. Great help, havent played with 1x scopes yet, so far im happy tho. :) Cheers!
So I watched some of your stream during this weeks drop event. You were hitting 300+fps in raid. Are you still using this? I have the same rig as you. 7950x3d 4090rtx. I have my curve optimizer ccd0 per core at -15 , ddr5 6000 with tight timings running 1440 I'm lucky to hold150 fps online. Maybe time for a new Chippa settings video. :)
hey mate. I did use this at one point but stopped using it when streaming as I now use window mode over full screen and this only works in full screen. FSR 3.0 could be better for tarkov over DLSS but it's similar. -15 should allow 5150-5250mhz on the cores if you have +200 core boost enabled... I don't under volt my Freq cores, just the cache at -30. Think I am only 6200 CL 32 atm, think I don't have the best batch of ram but who knows but as long as your 6000 cl 30 your pretty much at the peak.
Is there anything you would change with these settings if you have higher end pc specs or would you keep everything pretty much the same for all specs. I see a lot of streamers using higher settings so I am just curious, obviously many want the game to look better but Im wondering the difference when combined with DLDSR and DLSS
The game just refuses to let me use the DLDSR resolutions, I don't understand. Maybe a tenth of a second after I select it in the resolution dropdown menu it just drops back to 1440p. I assumed it was because I use Borderless window mode so I switched to full screen, but the screen goes black for a second or two like it does when you change fullscreen resolution, but as soon as it comes back it's at 1440p. Anyone had a similar issue and solved it?
can this only be ran in fullscreen? If i run borderless it wont change the resolution at all. If i change to fullscreen is changes but its super annoying if i tab out. I have multiple screens and like to multitask. If i cant run borderless its kinda pointless :/
The reason the FPS felt more stable is because tarkov, like many other games when playing online, does not fully utilize the GPU. Specfically games that love CPUs. Using DLDSR probably ramped your GPU up near 99% utilization at almost all times causing less fluctuations. Just make sure you keep reflex on + boost and input lag shouldn't be much different if noticeable!
@@ChippaWubba that's what I'm trying to get at. To be clear, before dldsr you could've been going from 80-150fps at any given time due to what I said before. Now, with dldsr your GPU is constantly maxing (probably or close) which is causing you sit at say ~90fps almost all times. Either way, if it feels better and looks better, it's better! And to add to consistency... Personally, I play with every game with RTSS fps cap just for the consistency in feel, but also because RTSS is so good at locking down frame times, locked fps can feel way better than an unlocked frame rate due to how different game engine pipelines handle things
@@spray_86 I meant 2 screens on 1gpu/1computer. From what you said I assume you game on a separate pc which is fine and your streaming machine with capture/obs is crashing? DLDSR/DLSS doesn't affect OBS since your captured image source is just your native resolution (or the gaming machine would crash) since the magic happens inside the GPU and screen/capture only receive a normal output signal. My first guesses since it happens after a certain amount of time under load: Thermal issues, a bad memory stick or a weak/ageing PSU (less likely but never say never) Get HWiNFO64 or OpenHardwareMonitor, record temp. logs to a file, cause a crash and check log to diagnose thermal problems (can be anything, try logging all sensors) To diagnose your memory get memtest86+, run it from a usb stick and let it run over night for deep testing of your ram sticks. Lastly (rather unlikely) try swapping your PSU for a stronger one but only if your system crashes to "reset button like" cold start. Blue screens/frozen screen etc. are usually thermals/memory related.
@@spray_86 Good luck man, if you find something let us know :) If not maybe posting specs/hardware in your machine can help finding known issues with certain combinations... :D Or your solution/fix helps someone else who casually reads this :)
I use dldsr 2.25x+dlss on a 1440p monitor and get a crazy picture, but in Tarkov arena right now very often after a round (or after revival in last hero) I have a black screen (I can control the character, enter the settings, but I can't see anything) (after changing the resolution sometimes the problem disappears, but sometimes the game crashes). I tried reinstalling the video card drov, but nothing helped, what to do? the problem is only in tarkov, it's not in the hardware I have rtx3080 ti 5700x3d 32gb ram,512gb ssd
So I was referred this video to try to set it up - but I don't see the new settings in the nvidia panel? I just recently switched to a Samsung Neo G9... is it not supported on the ultrawide/super ultrawide aspect ratios?
Two quick notes. AF causes very little performance impact for me over the years when changing the quality. In fact most game I set it to high unless it is competitive. I stick with quality mode, AF in general helps a lot regardless of quality though. Second thing is to properly use gsync, you're supposed to keep vsync on. You can either cap your frames so vsync never actually activates or use low latency mode. In both Ultra LL mode and Reflex in game, they will automatically keep you below the vsync threshold. That's what blurbusters and Nvidia has always stated as being the proper set up for gsync afaik. Pretty sure I saw a video recently showing the difference between vsync on and off with gsync and capped below the max framerate.
Having Vsync off and using Gsync is fine now with Reflex on as it won’t GPU bound your graphics card which was the main issue with exceeding refresh rate. I had to dig for the video I pretty much use what this guy has under competitive settings with reflex on. (Explained in that video) th-cam.com/video/Gub1bI12ODY/w-d-xo.html
@@ChippaWubba you will still get minor screen tearing at the bottom of the screen (some notice it some don't) without vsync enabled in nvcontrol panel when using gsync. This is a separate issue from reflex. Blurbusters covered it if you want more info
Awesome guide, but one question when enabling DLSR I'm seeing 5120 x 2880 and 5760 x 3240, does that matter as I don't have the options you have shown in the video?
ANy idea when NCP doesn't show the same DSR? I reloaded my OS to a new SSD. Now the DSR resolution that said 2x efficient don't appear now. My CP is up to date. So I'm confused. lol
ive done all the steps in your video and it looks pretty good. my ingame aspect ratio ist now shown as 43:18 (im using a 21:9 monitor) i cant find anything to set this back to 21:9. does anyone have the same issue and a solution?
Thank you, it looks amazing! But you can't set it to Borderless, so you have to set to Fullscreen, then that creates a problem: when Alt+Tabbing you can notice it resets back to native resolution by the way it looks (although it doesn't show the wrong resolution in the settings). Did you notice that? Any work around? I could only figure out 2, but both are annoying: 1) Esc + click Save, every time you Alt+Tab, that reapplies the settings. 2) Changing desktop's resolution to that DLDSR one you created, but that makes every text on programs looking blurry, even when changing DSR's Smoothness or Windows' ClearType settings. --- EDIT: I figured it out! I posted the solution as a reply!
I figured out a 3rd option that is much more convenient and I'm satisfied with! 1) Download a program called QRes. 2) Place it in the Tarkov's LAUNCHER folder. 3) In this same folder, create a .bat file. 4) Copy and paste this 3 lines code into this .bat file and save (edit the 1st resolution with your DLDSR one and the 2nd resolution with your native resolution): QRes.exe /x:2560 /y:1440 START /WAIT BsgLauncher.exe QRes.exe /x:1920 /y:1080 5) Make sure you set this in your LAUNCHER's settings: "When I launch the Game: Minimize the Launcher window to the system tray". 6) Now ONLY open your LAUNCHER through the created .bat file. The script will automatically change the resolution, wait for the launcher to close and then it changes back to your native resolution. From now on only close the launcher after you're done gaming. That's it! :)
tried these settings and while the game looks fine all of a sudden i'm getting an issue where my monitor starts blanking out. goes dark then comes back then back off again. over and over. I have to reboot to fix it. super strange
I used to use this it was amazing, but doesn't work with the new patch for me as when I alt-tab in fullscreen it hides my game, and DLDSR on tarkov doesn't work with borderless :(
Using this method in CP2077 with an Rtx 3060 on a 1080p monitor. High/ultra settings with no ray tracing. Wow, it looks amazing. Getting right around 70 fps.
not sure why but this absolutley tanked my frames. in offline mode i was getting 20 fps. im on a rtx 2070 super so im not on the best card so maybe thats why?
Yeah mate most likely, 2070 in current games depending on the res you selected wouldn't far well with a 2070. It's not just about the GPU cores but also the tensor cores etc/
it does work for me, however i can only choose the DLDSR resolution in fullscreen mode and it only lasts as long as i dont tab out. When in Borderless mode i cant choose the upscaled resolution, is there any other way?
Any idea how to fix the scope in lag when using this? When I go to scope in... it basically lags.. only when using actual scopes tho.. red dots are perfectly fine.
I tried it, it worked great, then i started having huge problems. Have no idea what my issue is. It sucks because it made it look so much better/smoother.
My game looks better than mw 2019 now. My biggest issue with tarkov was how grainy and hard to see it was. I can now enjoy it so much more and I barely lose frames. Thanks so much man. Rtx 3080 and ryzen 9 5900x
I tried this out and my pc was acting a little weird at first. Mouse wasn't displaying proper location, got in game and looked great. Then it crashed. Not sure if I did something wrong. Non DLDSR setting look and run great. 5600x, 2070S, 32 gig RAM. Any ideas?
It's not clear what to do if one is a 1440p user. I don't see a 1440p dsr specific setting. however now it is said that Relfex should be turned off. OMG.. the game at 3400.. looks absolutely amazing with quality on and 0.1 sharpness thanks so much for all these settings. I just turned the Reflex off as it is broken now someone says in the forumn. someone that redirected me to you. I am just worried now fo temperatures. I want to keep the temps below 71 degrees so aroun 69 max... my vents have been reset after last bios update as usual so I have to get back to set them correctly... The back one wasn't even working during the offline test with your settings and I was around 70-71.. and junction was 86 ... but I wanna not move above these... anyway. I don't care for my case noise. This is still working but please update it after 13.5 August 2023. Also again and again thanks I was looking for a tuttorial telling how how to play with good effects and also explanations.. infact I kept up some stuff as I don't want to have easy super life spotting things. for me it's ok to trade immersion potential of failure of getting ambushed.
u have to do same work here to new patch they add 13.5 , i got i9--9900k and 4070Ti and running the game with around 100, but maybe need new cpu for more fps on tarkov what do u think ?
yes mate, 9900k is hurting your 4070ti. A 13700k with 7200mhz DDR5 will feed it well. Or 7800x3d with 6200mhz a cheap $200 board will give you the most FPS AMD side as long as you don't need cores for production work. :)
This video and settings were game changing but there is just 2 issues for me. 1. I cannot play on that higher resolution on Borderless, I can only play it on fullscreen that leads me to my 2nd issue 2. When I play it on fullscreen I have 2 issues, 1 I prefer borderless because i ALT TAB very often and 2 my PC will randomly crash at times
Yeah because this is scaling your in game res to 1920p or 4k, you won't be able to windows mode. If your getting crashes, that could be the discord \ web browser using hardware acceleration for Tarkov. So turn that off or close discord. Nvidia overlays or any overlays are also closing it. if your still crashing, then it's most likely the extra load on your GPU mightn't be able to handle the load.
Testet this for two days now. the game looks a lot better but also a lot more of graphical issues. At least for me. Especially in scopes. To the point where there were two raticals rendered in the 6x zoom of the vudu. looks funny but a little distracting
Yes, it's not as bad as it was but that's DLSS having issues with the scope lines.. all games with DLSS have this pretty much. DLSS 2.3 doesn't help here either, I'm sure when DLSS 3.0 comes out it won't be too bad.
This is very very interesting. I get a nice bump in frames but only if l load in the raid with the increased resolution. If i revert to normal res and then back again to dlss, then the performance gain is gone. I do however get this weird flickering effect whenever i go from standstill to movement. Its really throwing me off as its even happening when im only adjusting my aim. RTX 3080 on a ultrawide monitor. The quality on the other hand is however amazing.

MAN THAT REALLY HELPED ME ALOT ! THX MATE ! love the vids
Love this video, very in depth. Good upload.

FYI: I have a 9900K / 32GIG Ram and CPU USAGE stayed the same 40- 50 % witch is great for temps.

This vid changed my life TNX!
At least in my situation (cpu-bound) DLSS did not increase performance and even reduced performance while using PiP scopes.
Any scope that has a 1x mode with the toggle function to 4/6 etc mode. The single 4x times scopes and higher are not affected.
There are many more latency modules at work before reflex does its thing. Also certain gaming monitors have this built in hence you should disable it
@@aidanmaguire4740 Just fyi any monitor that mentions reflex, it's not built into the monitor as Reflex is more so a GPU feature to keep the render queue empty.

Frame rate sits rock steady at 141 FPS on all maps, indoors and outdoors, except Lighthouse.
Have you how much the input lag has increased by doing this?

hey mate.
I did use this at one point but stopped using it when streaming as I now use window mode over full screen and this only works in full screen. FSR 3.0 could be better for tarkov over DLSS but it's similar.

Great work Chippa, thanks! I was wondering, do you use any Post FX and if, which settings?
The game just refuses to let me use the DLDSR resolutions, I don't understand. Maybe a tenth of a second after I select it in the resolution dropdown menu it just drops back to 1440p. I assumed it was because I use Borderless window mode so I switched to full screen, but the screen goes black for a second or two like it does when you change fullscreen resolution, but as soon as it comes back it's at 1440p. Anyone had a similar issue and solved it?
mine was having a similar issue but it was because i was in borderless not fullscreen. Then it allowed me to change it once it was in fullscreen.
can this only be ran in fullscreen? If i run borderless it wont change the resolution at all. If i change to fullscreen is changes but its super annoying if i tab out. I have multiple screens and like to multitask. If i cant run borderless its kinda pointless :/
I wish they would allow you to use DSC with DLDSR, I miss having the extra image quality.
The reason the FPS felt more stable is because tarkov, like many other games when playing online, does not fully utilize the GPU. Specfically games that love CPUs. Using DLDSR probably ramped your GPU up near 99% utilization at almost all times causing less fluctuations. Just make sure you keep reflex on + boost and input lag shouldn't be much different if noticeable!
while your statement is true.. it was more so due to FPS being more consistence as normally tarkov FPS jump all over the place.
On dual screen setups, you can only use DLDSR high resolution when you are in fullscreen mode. Borderless doesn't work! Awesome though :)
I just ran into this myself
@@spray_86
I meant 2 screens on 1gpu/1computer.
My first guesses since it happens after a certain amount of time under load: Thermal issues, a bad memory stick or a weak/ageing PSU (less likely but never say never)
Get HWiNFO64 or OpenHardwareMonitor, record temp. logs to a file, cause a crash and check log to diagnose thermal problems (can be anything, try logging all sensors)
To diagnose your memory get memtest86+, run it from a usb stick and let it run over night for deep testing of your ram sticks.

So I was referred this video to try to set it up - but I don't see the new settings in the nvidia panel? I just recently switched to a Samsung Neo G9... is it not supported on the ultrawide/super ultrawide aspect ratios?
Awesome video, sadly I cannot turn of DSC on my monitor to allow DSR to be enabled. Ugh.
NOoo :(
What about Mip streaming, is it worth it now with a good set of rams and also cpu etc?
(Explained in that video)
th-cam.com/video/Gub1bI12ODY/w-d-xo.html
@@ChippaWubba you will still get minor screen tearing at the bottom of the screen (some notice it some don't) without vsync enabled in nvcontrol panel when using gsync. This is a separate issue from reflex. Blurbusters covered it if you want more info

Hi, I have the same problem as you. Did you solve the problem? thx
I could only figure out 2, but both are annoying:
1) Esc + click Save, every time you Alt+Tab, that reapplies the settings.
4) Copy and paste this 3 lines code into this .bat file and save (edit the 1st resolution with your DLDSR one and the 2nd resolution with your native resolution):
QRes.exe /x:2560 /y:1440
START /WAIT BsgLauncher.exe
QRes.exe /x:1920 /y:1080
5) Make sure you set this in your LAUNCHER's settings: "When I launch the Game: Minimize the Launcher window to the system tray".
6) Now ONLY open your LAUNCHER through the created .bat file. The script will automatically change the resolution, wait for the launcher to close and then it changes back to your native resolution. From now on only close the launcher after you're done gaming. That's it!
:)
Thanks so much for the third solution!

I used to use this it was amazing, but doesn't work with the new patch for me as when I alt-tab in fullscreen it hides my game, and DLDSR on tarkov doesn't work with borderless :(

Hellz yeah that's the way!
not sure why but this absolutley tanked my frames. in offline mode i was getting 20 fps. im on a rtx 2070 super so im not on the best card so maybe thats why?
Yeah mate most likely, 2070 in current games depending on the res you selected wouldn't far well with a 2070. It's not just about the GPU cores but also the tensor cores etc/
it does work for me, however i can only choose the DLDSR resolution in fullscreen mode and it only lasts as long as i dont tab out. When in Borderless mode i cant choose the upscaled resolution, is there any other way?
Can you try Dldsr with dlaa, I don't know if there is dlaa in the game, could you still test it in others?

What would be the alternative for AMD Graphics cards please? I run with a AMD RX 5700XT
Would this be worth doing on a rtx 2080 super and could you enable the dsr factor setting on just tarkov in stead of the global settings.

That's correct, i wasn't aware of this at the time of testing.
In saying that.. borderless is very bad for EFT.. it increase input lag massively and I think it even locks refresh rate.
