Nice review, but sorry there is something that's not quite right: At 5:03 the guy said this Slayer 10 MAX is 33 inch wide. No, it is 34 inch wide. And the guy then said it is about 80LB fully rigged with drive and seat. It's even more off here (unless by "about" the guy means plus/minus 10LB or more?🙂). The propel drive alone is around 15LB. And the hull alone is 75LB rated by Native, which I can confirm as I have 2021 version Slayer Propel 10 MAX.
You know I like bringing folks along with whatever I'm doing. This was part of my research for what turned into a new kayak purchase. Details to come... (how's that for a tease?)
Thanks. I don't know how much of my regular audience will watch these kinds of vids, but this is definitely a video niche for folks who are looking to buy their first kayak.
Because this is something a little different than what my audience is accustomed to seeing, I'm going to be staggering these kayak review videos over the next several weeks. I was concerned that doing them back to back would be too big of a shock to the system. So if you don't see one tomorrow, never fear. They're coming! Thanks for all of your support.
This was a good video review of the slayer propel max man. My lil brother Tim said that is a nice kayak. He just picked up his kayak two weeks ago & he love it. Labor Day weekend was my lil brother Tim first time being on a kayak & doing some kayak camping with my family and friends & he had a blast with us to the point he went out & Bought him a kayak. Every kayak have different needs for everyone. I can agree with you on this kayak being wet all the time. I guess that why you should kayak barefooted 🦶 or wearing flip flops 🩴 or sandals because your shoes are going to get soak in wet from the kayak & when shoes get wet it can take day to dry or it dry up Mildew & you can't wash shoes. Good video buddy thanks you for sharing it & I see you next weekend.
Looks like a well designed kayak, but what turns me off is all the water around inside the boat where your drive and feet rest especially in cooler weather. I feel like there could had been a recessed drain system like other competitors designs. Is there a way to keep the water from pooling? I’m torn between this and another competitor
My recommendation is demo anything before you buy. As far as the slayer and the water, it’s just wet. It happens on my slayer 12.5 and it’s a known issue. There’s always a little bit of water on the floor. The scuppers are below the waterline…and it’s nearly impossible to get a perfectly watertight seal with the plugs.
@@abidefishing thanks for the reply, in my area not many dedicated shops unless I want to take an extended drive to demo and they are always far and few between when the closer ones do demo boats. All big box stores nearby and most only have 1 good option for a quality pdl.
The great thing about modern life is there’s a quality boat on the market now for every price range. It’s never been a better time to be alive: everything is good

Don’t shoot the messenger. I can neither confirm or deny those stats: I just hit record and let the rep talk.
Great video as always! If a person is looking these kinds of videos are awesome!

Nice review, I went with a remaining 2022 slayer 10 propel not the max. Can't beat the weight of it at 65lbs without the drive unit.
Congrats on the purchase. There are so many nice boats on the market that it’s hard to buy a bad one b

You're right, you do have to make accommodations with the footwear. During the summer, it's barefeet/sandals and in the winter it's waterproof boots.

Seems like a lot of water in the kayak. Is that normal?
This was my only experience in this particular boat, so I don’t know for certain, but I have a Slayer Max and yes, it’s pretty wet on the inside.
