I love how you are the only youtuber showing the part of modifying cars that everyone else ignores; the anxiety and uncertainty of doing such things. It's not a walk in the park like some other youtubers make it out to be. Great video as always
I was looking into a TT about a year or two ago and found your channel. I was never able to pull the trigger on one but I still love watching every episode and you’ve helped me with a ton on my own projects. Keep up the great work!
Good job Brother! As a proud owner of a TT 225 myself, I can just imagine your feelings driving your TT after such a big install! Congratulations and keep them coming! Love your content! Marc
Congratulations on your new turbo build. Was definitely a good journey to see you build it. Definitely make sure you're at a safe tune to handle that turbo. I know you'll probably do big rods in the future to make more power. Until then keep it safe.
Fantastic. Well done. Thanks for showing us all the trials and tribulations, not just the victories. Really enjoying your TT content, but also the E30. Thanks
The joy on your face says it all. It’s been such a wild ride from start to ‘finish’ and it’s amazing to hear that TT revving again! Would love to see a ‘drive with me’ style video where we get to hear to raw sounds of the engine against the road!
What a great episode. The tension built while starting the car was absolutely awesome. I hope your eventual screenplay involves something terrifying. Well done sir.
@@HunterDirectionyou’re very welcome sir. I stumbled across your channel looking for 1.8t content and have been subscribed since. You’re doing great. I enjoy your automotive content
That’s awesome man, I just wrapped up my swap in my 240Z. It sat for over a year while I was living life and finally got back to it. Still plenty of finer details to address but I get what you mean and about being back behind that wheel. It’s surreal and you remember why you put the effort into the car. 100% a labor of love
Thank you for this. The B roll of the isntall brought me back. I used to have a big turbo GT3076r AMU 225 TT as a project car and let it go a few years ago. Damn I miss that thing.
Congratz man! I believe you are correct with that turbo it will rip. I'm jealous... I loved the music you used for the filling of fluids. It made me giggle 🤣
Awesome video so far; I’m still watching. Man that heat wrap is itchy without gloves. The instructions say to soak it in water, that helps a lot with the fibers. I have to use crows feet to tighten my turbo, helps a ton!!
Been watching for a bit now, enjoy every episode. Found your channel from the e30 and i’ve been watching every video since 😂, I’m building a turbo e30 325es(first car i’ve EVER built!) so your statement on being scared to start it up for the first time is relatable, you deserve more subs for the work you put into these videos!
Epic homie! Im in Canada and im building a 2001 S3 8L and because these two cars are so compatible you have given me the confidence to pull the trigger on the build.
Absolutely brilliant Hunter! It’s been a journey and a real pleasure to follow along for the ride. Congratulations on a top job and can’t wait to see where you go next with it after tuning!! Bravo 👌🏻
Awesome! You have iron will for sure. I love my mk1 TTQ until I have to work on it. Had to repair a shift fork and replace the clutch. It's by for the most annoying car I've worked on with my 1990 300zx coming in a close 2nd. Can't wait to check out the next vid.
Sweet, I want to put my Apr turbo kit in my 03 roadster. But need to buy a clutch kit first. What stage kit do you have? I’m looking to get one that holds 400 or 450 tq.
Dude … follow you since a bit now, your editing skills and cinematography just raise next level each single video, perfect content tho . So graceful having found your channel ! 🤩🤩🇫🇷
This channel is so unbelievably underrated, this is some of the best content on this platform. I can't wait for more videos on the B5, it's such a cool car
TH-cam can get lost sometimes, your channel has not been in my feed for months and you’ve made equal great content. I’m at 14 minutes in and thinking, trust yourself, mentally sign off on everything or as much as you can. Checklists rule. Whiteboards are your friend/s. 😊 🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼😎🍀😂
2001 TT 225. AMU. all the bolt ons. FMIC, GT28, downpipe, exhaust, Badger5 TIP, injectors, piping, high capacity Radiator, Unitronic stage II. Around 295. My damn narrow band ecu is my big limitation. Where/how do I upgrade to wideband setup?
Hi Hunter Im a young owner of a 3.2 TT and im actually not sure what i can do to get more Horsepower out of it I bought it a couple years ago after my first car got side swiped because it was such a sweet deal then i took it to get an oil change and they didnt change the oil which cost me a motor so after alot of time sitting i just recently got it running reliably again and was seeking upgrade options but everything i find is just the 1.8 so i was hoping to find some answers here on what direction i can go with my 3.2
I just wanna make this abundantly clear as i have PTSD from it haha, MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE to wear thick gloves if its the fiberglass type heat wrap.....ouch for many days. And also amazing effort dude, im think8ing about turbo on my 1.8t b5 avant i cannot imagine how tight transversely mounted engines are
Yeah in hindsight gloves wouldn't have been a terrible idea. Thankfully it really wasn't too itchy though. Yeah turboing the transverse definitely provides some additional challenge to the longitudinal 1.8s haha.
i was dreaming about audi tt mk1 about 5.y. and now, finally i am owner. audi tt mk1 224hp full black. now, step by step, earning some money, starting order some of the parts for enginge, to fix it. if everything will be ok, then for next summer i will start with suspension. now its starts cold outside, but somehow need to change belt, chain, oils, repair steerpower. almost 300k/km Thx for some ideas and for content. i think also record, but just for myself, to remember where i put my 10mm key 🤣
The wastegate is routed back to the downpipe so it wont be as loud as an open dump. But we also had some pretty big boost leaks stopping us from making enough for it to dump haha. 😅
@HunterDirection interesting. Is there an advantage to dumping the extra boost pressure that way? TeeterTot has an open dump, so it's really apparent when there's too much boost at times.
Honestly not too sure. Just a thought I had haha. The current one isn't bad but is starting to show some rust. Plus it's a nameless exhaust and with all the work we've put into the car might be nice to have a nicer one on there.
Im going through similar stuff at the moment. My engine went in about a month ago. Did about 800miles. Last week i look under the car. And to my horror i was leaking coolant and oil. From further investigation, it was comming for the turbo. Hence, it taking so long for me to notice 😅. Yesterday i took the engine out. Today i changed the gaskets. The engine is back in the car, now just the final push for the finish 😅. I loved your video, gave me some inspiration to get the car done ✌
You should have 20 or more inhg of vacuum. Anything else and your LTFT are suffering and they(tuner) have to compensate. If I was to guess what’s leaking vacuum it’s probably your crank case ventilation system you got going. Something isn’t right
@@HunterDirection I still think your vacuum is suffering because you aren’t running a PRV and because of that allowing the PCV valve to be sucking vacuum at all times (except on boost). Try and run the PRV after the catch can and see what it does to your vacuum.

its more so with german cars

C clamps work a bit better as you can control the release of spring pressure.

Way to go! Couldn't hear the waste gate dumping in the drive video, was it? Good luck with the tune.
The wastegate is routed back to the downpipe so it wont be as loud as an open dump. But we also had some pretty big boost leaks stopping us from making enough for it to dump haha. 😅

@@HunterDirectionOk, I’m close to pulling the trigger on 42 Draft Designs turbo-back with v-bands. Seems like a good mid-range price point.
what are you running pistons and rod wise
The car is stock block for now actually. So whatever the AAN comes with from the factory. Internals are on the TODO list!
