    I live down here. That section of beach is considered Brazos Island state park. We drive up to the jetties quite a bit. If you ever get back down this way, go to South padre Island acess 6. You can drive out on to the beach and there is like 30 miles of beach you can camp for free on. Well other than the 14 dollars they charge you to go through the park entrance. But if you go early enough in the morning or later in the afternoon nobody is at the entrance so you can just go through fro free.

    Thanks for posting this here and on Campendium. My husband and I have stayed at some places by looking at your trip timeline (Garcia picnic area to name one). We are going to drive to this beach tomorrow!

    Yep, we’re definitely going there for a week. Thanks for showing it to us.

      Hope you enjoy it! You just want to get a close look at that rocket. If you and Ed do Assateague Island beach camping/driving, this will be a piece of cake.

    Sorry didn't watch the whole. Did you guys go down to the Rio Grande River and see Mexican side beach?

    Really nice wide beach ! I think it would be fun to camp there. I wonder if fires are allowed. Nice video. Vicky

      It is very windy in south Texas. A fire is probably not a good idea. With that said there were no prohibitions posted about having an open fire. Thank you for always being kind when commenting. Just had to ban a viewer from the Channel due to an abusive comment. Thanks for watching Vicky.

      @@LivingOurDreamNow That's just sad. I don't understand how anyone could find anything about your videos to be abusive about. You, Melody, and Milo are the sweetest folks and do nothing except try to give us a look-see at what is available to us. I may never get to Boca Chia beach in my travels, but it's now on my map with notes, so, if I do end up in south Texas (which is not a far stretch of the imagination), I know what to expect. I treasure every one of your videos. Shame on whoever posted an abusive comment.

    We have not camped at Boca Chica since Space X arrived. Twice before with 30’ class C, pulling a toad. Some cars on the beach during the day. Very regular Border Patrol waved as they went by. To the left is a long walk to the fishing jetty at Brownsville inlet. Border & river outlet is to the right. Was never shallow enough to walk across. Saw few other campers when we were there for our 7 day stays each time. Very quiet at night. Does not seem as appealing now with rockets blasting off & testing.

    We don’t think we would chance it either. A open/finished Fredstone would be more our style. 😃

      Stay tuned - I found a really cool, well maintained, and big rig friendly location right on the Gulf further north.

    Well, I'm commenting about a different video bec/ I clicked the wrong button and closed it rather than pause to make a comment. But, didn't notice the name of the park in TX until you pulled out the map. Interesting that the park had your grandpa's first name of Adolph.

    • @LivingOurDreamNow
      @LivingOurDreamNow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not many folks are named Adolph since WW2. It is a scenic waterfront park. Access to the intercostal waterway makes it rather special.

    Is there any way you'd try this beach in a Ford E250 RWD van?

    • @LivingOurDreamNow
      @LivingOurDreamNow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tend to play it safe and because of the soft sand at the entrance, I recommend 4WD. With that sand, we saw a few cars cruising down the beach with no problems. Thanks for watching! Lou

      @@LivingOurDreamNow I was able to get a Harley Softail by the entrance last Aug. The driving once you get by the entrance
      is real easy with a 2wd. Just get up a little speed and it should not be an issue. The northern part is easier, go left, but, the southern part goes the the Mex. Border. Great place
