When I worked in the mill, weavin' at the loom, I'd gaze absent-minded at the roof, And half the time the shuttle'd tangle with the threads And the warp would get mixed with the woof, If I loved you. But somehow I can see just exactly how I'd be.... If I loved you, Time and again I would try to say All I'd want you to know. If I loved you, Words wouldn't come in an easy way. Round in circles I'd go. Longin' to tell you but afraid and shy, I'd let my golden chances pass me by. Soon you'd leave me, Off you would go in the mist of day, Never, never to know How I loved you, If I loved you.
My God! This girl has the voice , talent & looks of an angel! I am sure we will blessed with many of her great performances in the future. Bravo Laura! And the best of luck to you
I'm fortunate enough to have found this video, as this is the song I'm singing for an upcoming competition. My teacher said there weren't many versions similar to the one I have to sing, but lo and behold, Laura Osnes singing the exact version I'm singing. Thank you.
Beyond lucky to have seen this in Chicago. I've been a fan of Laura since Grease and that was the first time I'd ever seen her perform. It was everything I had ever hoped it would be.
This is absolutely my favorite song from Carousel, such a beautiful song and Laura Osnes' performance has got so much heart. Don't like the story much, but the songs in Carousel are just fucking wonderful. I'm lucky to be a part of a production of it in the Philippines, which got postponed because of COVID-19, but I can't wait until we resume rehearsals! 💕
Damnit it. Ever since I saw both Laura Osnes and Sutton Forster I can't get either out of my thoughts. I search Google and TH-cam. I read and I listen. I can't get either one of these wonderful ladies out of my head. I need an intervention. Help!
Broadway really missed out on this one. I don't know if it's going to the great white way or not, but it totally should. It was an amazing production. I may not like the story but my word such good singing and such beautiful music!

La soprano Laura Osnes interpreta "If I loved you", otro conocido fragmento de "Carousel" de Rodgers y Hammerstein.

Just doesn’t have the pizazz that Shirley Jones did with Gordon MacRae standing 10’ away, dazzled by her beauty. Did Shirley even sing this song in the film, or was she synced?

hate to judge, i’m just an amateur untrained in music, but this attempt is too off key from the original musical sheets laid down by Rodgers & Hammerstein, and loud. amazingly the talented Hollywood and Broadway actress and trained singer Shirley Jones performed this dueted tune with her counterpart Gordon MacRae for the 1956 film production of Carousel, and to my ears (and eyes) remains THE best rendition of the song ever. sometimes you just can’t beat the first time. this song IMO is R & H’s best of their incredible songbook, and remains near the top of showtune history’s great list of accomplishments.

Laura Osnes is an opera diva!
Laura Osnes is capable of playing virtually any leading female role in the canon of Golden Age musicals, this being just one of them.
Let's be honest...... Laura's perfect for EVERY Broadway musical ;)
Love her...love her singing.......love the TABERNACLE ORCHESTRA AND CHOIR
Perfection singing my all-time favorite song. Thanks!
What a great version of a song, sung by a great singer, written by a genius. What more is to say.
Just lovely!❤️

Fantastic rendition of If I Loved You from Carousel! Standing Ovation!
Beautiful song…and she has such a beautiful voice…if only I had such a beautiful voice as this young lady!
Beautiful rendition.
Beautiful! Laura Osnes is the best Julie in this classic song that I've heard. Totally professional. Excellent breath control.
My God! This girl has the voice , talent & looks of an angel! I am sure we will blessed with many of her great performances in the future. Bravo Laura! And the best of luck to you
Great performance especially for a venue with such dead acoustics, and a microphone with no pop filter.

This is a difficult song. Beautifully and naturally performed by a marvelous talent.
I sang this for my Grade 8 ABRSM Voice performance exams a decade ago. Such pleasant memories
I sang this song for my Cinderella audition in high school and got the part of Ella! :)))
Omg r u like in collage now 😭
I’m auditioning for Ella soon too and thinking of using this song thank you!

I hope this goes to Broadway because I did this show in December and it's my favorite show that I've done.

this is great but you guys should check out NICOLE SCHERZINGER'S VERSION!
ew no. She just ruined one of the greatest songs of musical theatre. (Yes, I know she studied muscial theatre). Nicole version was just awful.
Nicoles version was amazing! her version of the song was so original and out of the box! she is a true talent.. her version was amazing and true art!
I don't agree, sorry! :( The way Nicole sung it is NOT how Richard Rodgers wanted the song to be performed.
