Thank heavens there are still Laura Osnes's and Mormon Tabernacle Choirs left in this crazy world. Thankyou, thankyou for such a beautiful rendition of easily a magical song. I'm at peace with the world.
Since its introduction 78 years ago, this song has been sung by scores of gifted sopranos. Although I have not heard them all, it’s hard to imagine that any one of them could outdo Laura Osnes’ rendering here. Absolute perfection. She is a wonder!
My mum and I used to watch carousel (film)when I was little together. My mum passed away 9 months ago following 10 years of suffering dementia. I always watch this with a smile and year thinking if my dear sweet mum! Xxx
The voice and the music were incredible. Reminds me of my lost loved ones who transited earlier on to the other side of the veil. God be thanks for His marvelous gift of Resurrection.
I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have watched this. my mum first introduced me to carousel as a young child unfortunately my mum passed away in November 2019. She passed away after suffering 10-years of dementia. I've played this version to her and we have some. she is now no longer here but I am watching this as singer so very loudly and so very proudly! What a beautiful version of this song! Xxx
I listen to all kinds of music and have to say this is one of the finest performances of that great song that I've had the pleasure of listening to. Thank you Miss Osnes and thanks also to the wonderful Tabernacle Choir. My best wishes to you all.
The language of emotion , tears and passion is a language worldwide understood and has the healing power to bring us all together in love and peace . She sings like a beautiful Angel , send by God , heralding the birth of Christ in this Church . Christmas is around the corner , so ..Merry Christmas to you all in peace and harmony from the Netherlands and may the Lord continue to shine his light upon Miss Laura Osnes and guide her on her path.
Although I loved all the songs Mrs Osnes sang in this concert, ''If I loved you'' would be my preferred one. Being a beautiful, graceful singer, Laura, with her great talent, makes us feel her inner beauty as well when she sings. Deeply moving! .
Always loved Shirley Jones's version in Carousel, but this is off the charts. Laura Osnes is both beautiful and so talented, and the MTC echoing her lyrics is a fantastic arrangement. Will listen again and again.
Wow. I just came across this. She is spectacular. I mentioned it to Linda and he casually said, "You know she's from the Twin Cities." I didn't, but can she ever sing.
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. This is a recording I will return to again and again. This is the first time I have heard this woman sing; I will seek out her other work. It would be wonderful to hear her duet with Alfie Boe.
This performance was recommended to me, personally, by the great Bruce Johnston of the "Beach Boys!"If anyone knows beautiful vocals, it is certainly that group. This choir, organ and orchestra is always in better than top form. What's more, every comment here is a positive one, too!

One of America's greatest vocalists with the 360 voice Tabernacle Choir... Spectacular !

I wonder how it must feel to be this talented? Must be just incredible.
I've often wondered that too! When you are gifted a voice, talent and beaty all in one.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, The Tabernacle Choir exceeds all expectations!
God touches my heart❤
She sings this song the way I am sure the composers had intended it to be sung.. So beautiful, moving and emotional.
This is the ONLY non-duet version of this song that I will accept. She is so, so wonderful.

Just simply beautiful. The musical Carousel was one of my father-in-law's favorite.
The voice and the music were incredible. Reminds me of my lost loved ones who transited earlier on to the other side of the veil. God be thanks for His marvelous gift of Resurrection.
Stunned with tears. Thanks LDS and Laura.

By the way, Richard Rogers always favored the music from "Carousel" over and above all of his other musicals.
