Good reaction! Unlucky Morpheus is a talented melodic speed power metal band. They have overwhelmingly higher quality live than MV, so next time I would like live video. Recommended "The tower of blood" "Dragon force" "Dignity of spirit"
Great reaction man! I really love Unlucky Morpheus. You should check out the songs "CADAVER/REVADAC" and "Knight of Sword". Also, Quadratum From Unlucky Morpheus is the same band but without the founding members Fuki (singer) and Shiren (Guitar) and they are doing covers. They covered "Eruption" by Van Halen, "Far Beyond The Sun" by Yngwie Malmsteen and others for they latest album. Finaly, please check out the band Doll$boxx, witch consist of singer Fuki (Unlucky Morpheus) and the members of the band Gacharic Spin. Doll$boxx is one of my favorite japanese band (with BAND-MAID and Maximum the hormone) and they have great songs like "Take My Chance" from their first album and "Shout Down" or "Dragonet" from their 2017 EP. I think you're going to like "Shout Down" but my favorite remains "Dragonet". Fuki has also another band called Light Bringer and she made solo albums too. She’s working hard
bandmaid, lovebites, unlucky morpheus. You are walking the high road of Japanese rock music ,today. I think it's a very good choice. Another Japanese band I can think of is ”versailles” "sokoninnaru(そこに鳴る)”. I'd recommend it because the style is different from the previous three groups.
@@akaalexanderking About Versailles, the masterpiece Faith and Decision (live) there are one version with english subtitles out there but You have to search for "eng sub"
Wow this is going to get long. Unlucky Morpheus (UM) were started in 2008, as a side project, by Shiren and Fuki. They were in another band that was also a side project that did covers of video game songs, after the band stopped Fuki told Shiren that she had enjoyed working with him and wanted to do it again, so UM was started. It was just the 2 of them for a number of years. They did Touhou (a video game series in Japan) arrangement albums. After a few years the fans wanted to see them live, so they asked some friends to help them play live. In 2013 they added another member, who is also a singer, whom Shiren also had a side project with, then they slowly added other members, with Jill violin being the last in 2016, at this point it was still a side project, as all the members were in other bands, 1 or 2 still are. It wasn't until about 2017/18 that they started to make it more full time, as they started to release that they had become popular, not only in Japan, but around the world. They did there 1st tour of Japan in 2017 and played out side Japan for the 1st time in Oct 2019 in London, were I saw them. They have said that they want to do a world tour, but that idea is on hold due to the current problems. Fuki (singer) is just a workaholic, in 15 years she has been involved in over 90 releases, mostly full albums. Apart from being in UM she is also in Doll$boxx, a side project between her and Gacharic Spin (pop rock), she also has her own solo act, plus many other things she is part of inc guest appearances. She is also a designer and occasionally does modeling work. Shiren (growls) is normally the lead guitarist, but he has tenosynovitis of the arm, so has to rest it, now and again, so Jill takes over his part playing violin when they are live in 2 songs, Black Pentagram and Angreifer. He has started to do more growls lately due to his arm problem, so they a lot of songs with out the growls. The growls are natural. He was also in the 1st Kami band (Babymetal) at Legend "I", he has also been in lots of other bands. He also plays Bass, Keyboards, Piano, Trumpet, Programming, Drums, Percussion, Arrangement, Composition, and various other instruments. Jill (violin) is just ........................ What can you say about Jill, that you can't say about the rest of the band, she is just super talented, she is a Tokyo University of the Arts graduate and totally the real deal. She has her own YT channel (jill violin channel). She has also done and still does work with other bands, some of them are big names in Japan. When she 1st joined the band they did tend to put her down in the mix when they did studio tracks, but now as the fans love her, they have moved her a bit more to the front. They have also started a side project called "Quadratum From Unlucky Morpheus" which is Jinya, Jill, Ogawa, and Fumiya. They are doing instrumental covers and have an album out, and maybe a video to go with it as they have just recorded one. Fuki has said that the violin takes the part of the vocalist. Ogawa (bass) is really a jazz bassist, he is in the band as he was friends with the other members before he joined. He was a protégé of Mikio Fujioka, who you may know from Babymetal's Kami band, were in a band called Trick Box, way back in 2008. Jinya (guitar) has his own band called "Carbonic Acid" and also plays in another band called "Undead Corporation". He has also had to do a bit more of the guitar work due to the problem with Shiren. Fumiya (drums) Another member that has had a lot of work with other bands over the years inc Galneryus. Also male :) There is one more member of the band, who you never realy see, as he only appears at some of the live shows in Japan. He is another singer, who used to be in 2 other side projects of Shiren's, one of them also had Fuki as well. That is "Kasumi". While UM are a metal band, they refer to them-self's as a technical melodic speed metal band, they can play other styles, and often do when live. They some times do jazz, smooth, rock, on Christmas day they did a live stream which was very smooth. Try "Angreifer" (live) Here are some other Japanese bands you may like. Nemophila - Oiran Fate Gear - Headless Goddess Galmet - Zero The Gazette - Ulgy The Japanese metal scene is now opening up more to the world these day, and that can be put down to one band, love or hate them, Babymetal. Yes, there were other Japanese bands before Babtmetal, like X-Japan, but they never realy had a big impact on the west in the way Babymetal did. Before Babymetal, Japanese band did the normal thing that you get with other countries, you build up a big home base, then slowly start to go out a bit more. With Babymetal they were a small band in Japan that had a bit of a following in Tokyo and maybe a few other cities, but it was not big enought to go anywhere, they had not even toured Japan. Then they released a song that was a hit on TH-cam, Give Me Chocolate, which is just mad or a metal song and the type of thing that got the "only in Japan comments. Then a FaceBook campain started up to get them to play at Sonisphere in the UK, which the bookers saw, after it picked up a bit of pace the bookers invited Babymetal to play there. The management for Babymetal, knew it was a gamble, but went for it, as it's not often you get invited to one of the, at the time, big metal festivals. This was 2014. So Babymetal did a small European tour inc. Sonisphere, where they just smashed it out of the park. Not bad for a band that no one had heard of and the eldest singer was 16. The same yrear they were invited by Lady Gaga to support her on the Art Rave tour. Now all this caught the Japanese music media totally of guard, they had never heard of the band, but because of what they had done, could not stop talking about them. So that picked up some interest with the Japanese public. After that Babymetal started to tour overseas every year, as they had found a bigger market than the one at home. Which then led to other small Japanese bands realising that there was a market out side Japan, just waiting for them to tap into. The other thing that happened was people started to look for other Japanese bands on YT, which has caused the interest in Japanese music. One thing you have to understand about the Japanese metal scene is that it is big for western bands, but very small for Japanese bands. So if they can make a name for themselves in the west, they become bigger in Japan. Band Maid, Lovebites are the 2 most people know, but there are others that have started to come out of Japan, that you would never seen years ago. Unlucky Morpheus have now realised they are popular outside Japan and were going to do a world tour, last year. Ningen Isu a small band that has been around since the 80's, has now seen there popularity rise, an increase in sales and toured for the 1st time outside Japan. Talented musicians are starting bands now in Japan and looking overseas more than the home base, Nemophila are such a band, they were suposed to tour last year and they only formed a few months before that. Love or hate them, Babymetal have done so much for Japanese music, that's not saying that the other bands have not had to work to get there, but Babymetal opened the door and the other are starting to come though it. Sorry there is so much, but I love UM and took an interest in the Japanese music scene. I have been to Japan twice now, to see bands, and it suprised me that Japanese metal fans don't know about Japanese bands. For most bands anything over 500 is a big crowd, unless they have been at it for years and sometimes not even then.
This is a great comment. I've learned more today than ever trying to read music reviews in Japanese publications. I think we are many people here in the west, but In Japan too, looking for good music articles. I hope music journalism get back to its roots. Bands needs better exposure than simple publicity. Thank you!
Fuki (lead singer) is a legend in Japan, and one of the busiest artists anywhere. She is lead singer for UM, Doll$boxx, Lightbringer and her own ongoing project, Fuki Commune. Her style is very much out of the Japanese classical tradition, with the oversold vibrato and intense high notes. She collaborates with a lot of the top musical talents in Japan. Jill (violin) also has a busy dance card, including collaborations with Fuki outside UM. I saw UM live in London last year, when they headlined Metal Matsuri. Great show, and the chemistry between Fuki and Jill is electric. The look is Visual Kei with a gothic touch. It's a well-established esthetic in Japan. Jill is actually my favorite member of Unlucky Morpheus, and probably the best rock/fusion violinist since Jean-Luc Ponty. Here are links to instrumentals featuring her in UM’s instrumental project Quadratum: Cover of van Halen "Eruption" th-cam.com/video/eTb0TQtVT6k/w-d-xo.html Cover of Malmsteen "Far Beyond the Sun" th-cam.com/video/E2hZDzJp9Pc/w-d-xo.html Cover of Dream Theater, played blindfolded: th-cam.com/video/8eZVVtaOBKk/w-d-xo.html
Since you already mentioned some of my favourites Maximum The Hormone, Band Maid, a few other variations to start with: Crystal Lake: progressive, metal core Doll$Box: A Fuki project Nemophila, Mary's Blood, Trident, Scandal, Mutant Monster: all more girl power Wagamama Rakia: Fusion of metal and the Idol concept (especially 'Survive' video)
@@akaalexanderking Some reaction favourites are "Yoshu Fukushu", "A.L.I.E.N" and "Hungry Pride". MTH are the Happiest 'metal' band I know, and irreverent. "Koi no sperma" is super fun.
Good introduction to Unlucky Morpheus. I'd second the recommendations for Angreifer live. Also, if you like the violin, they just released a new album with covers of classic metal instrumentals that mainly focuses on Jill's violin. So far there's Yngwie Malmsteen's Far Beyond the Sun, Dream Theater's Dance of Eternity, Van Halen's Eruption and Tomy MacAlpine's Hundreds of Thousands (drum cam only so far). And, if you like the singer, she's very active as well. The most notable other project is Doll$boxx. I'd recommend starting with Take My Chance: th-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/w-d-xo.html.
The violin is what gives this band its touch of originality. You should check out the live version where Jill does that same guitar solo with her violin. Some recommendations: Nemophila-Raitei, Yousei Teikoku- Astral Dogma, Uroboros- Black Swallowtail. When you go into the Japanese rock/metal scene rabbit hole there's no way back!
Now you found my other favorite band, Ankimo(UM) very underrated doujin band from Japan /,,/ The singer Fuyuki is not just a pro, she's a veteran also, been in 4 bands already including all the side projects, current band and solo career.. By the way only 2 ladies in this band, the rest are boys, and the drummer is lol.. Oh, you have more assignments about Japan; do research about Alternative Idols and Visual Keis too.. P.S. react to their Quadratum project(instrumental team) they play a lot of covers. Ciao! 🗾🎌🎸
You have now hit my 3 favorite bands from Japan, Lovebites, Band Maid and Unlucky Morpheus. As you just saw FUMIYA the drummer, (it's a dude, the only girls in the band are Fuki the singer and Jill the violin) he is a beast, i was so impressed when i first listened to them. Also the guitars Shiren and Jinya, so skilled. The harsh vocals are from Shiren the red hair guitar. By the way, this band started as a video game music cover band, they are big fans of Final Fantasy for example, you can see it the way they dress and the hair styles. If you want to see more of them i suggest Unending Sorceress MV or Dignity of Spirit Live. They classify themselves as a technical melodic speed metal band. Thanks and stay safe!
2:50 "Is that a violin ?" yes... and not an electrical one as one would have expected from the music style, mind you ? I love that so much about them. Have you watched her performing covers from Eruption (Van Halen) or For the Love of God (Steve Vai) or Far Beyond the Sun (Yngwie Malmsteen) ? This Lady is a Deamon with a violin in her hands... I don't know how talented you have to be in the world to be a traditional violin soloist in the classical scene, but if she plays in a metal band... either she just simply loves metal and loved violin since her young age and she truely chose that road, or she was not talented enough to be in the classical scene, but thanks for us, she chose that amazing road of metal. Once more, a very talented Japanese Band with it's own unique signature. Keep up the great job, and stay safe.
Fuki who sings started with the band Light Bringer I think, and solo Fuki Commune, and a collab with Gacharin Spin and the band Doll$Boxx and main singer in this UM... Fuki is everywhere! ;-)
Please react to jupiter angel's wing Versailles Philia Galneryus struggle from the freedom flag Those are three of the best Japanese metal bands :) Nice vid bro, i just suscribed
I discovered Unlucky Morpheus about a month ago. I'm still getting to know them, but their musicianship is outstanding. One of the guitarists, Shiren, is doing the harsh vocals. The one I'm most impressed by is Jill, the violinist. There's a sub-unit of this band consisting of their drummer, bass guitarist, violinist, and one of the guitarists. That sub-unit is called QUADRATUM; they recently put out their first album, Loud Playing Workshop. That album consists of instrumental covers, and they've put out videos for three of those covers. I'd recommend all three. "Dance of Eternity" originally by Dream Theater th-cam.com/video/clB3yOKaayE/w-d-xo.html "Eruption" originally by Van Halen th-cam.com/video/eTb0TQtVT6k/w-d-xo.html "Far Beyond the Sun" originally by Yngwie Malmsteen th-cam.com/video/E2hZDzJp9Pc/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for reacting to my recommendation. Unlucky Morpheus in my Top 5 🇯🇵 The live version is even better, as the Violinist is superior to what you have seen. The Violin gains more prominence. She does insane solos by putting the guitarist on the floor. Bands in Japan always give impressive live performances. They are even better than the studio version. And the Black Pentagram Lyrics if you are an Anime enthusiast, it would fit perfectly as Opening of Attack on Titan, making references in your lyrics to the plot of the anime. #UNLUCKYMORPHEUS #GUITARGENT 🇧🇷❤️BITESCLAN 🐺🤘🏼 @alcateialovebitesbrasil insta #LovebitesBrasil FB
Some Japanese bands. Take your pick: BAND-MAID [All their songs... really!], LOVEBITES [Raise some Hell, and all the other songs], MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [Yoshu Fukushu], CROSSFAITH [Catastrophe], SiM [Killing Me], NINGEN ISU [Heartless Scat], UNLUCKY MORPHEUS [Black Pentagram], YOUSEI TEIKOKU [Astral Dogma], COLDRAIN [Die Tomorrow], CRYSTAL LAKE [The Circle], GIVEN BY THE FLAMES [Ronove], ANGRY FROG REBIRTH [2Step Syndrome], SILENTLY SHOOTING TRAITORS [Manipulate], ALDIOUS [Dominator], BRIDEAR [Light in the Dark], CINQ ELEMENT [Destiny], MARY'S BLOOD [Marionette], GRAUPEL [Bereavement], DOLL$BOXX [Take my Chance] , SOKONINAR [Tenohira De Odoru], HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [Flying Saucer], TELECiDE [Tied up Memories], SPIRITBOX [Belcarra], NEKO [Ghost on a Record], ROTTENGRAFFTY [Hallelujah], DIR EN GREY [Ningen wo Kaburu], X JAPAN [Kurenai], DAZZLE VISION [Second], JUPITER [My Enemy], GALNERYUS [Angel of Salvation], BLOOD STAIN CHILD [Del-Sol], and many more...
Unlucky Morpheus is my favorite band right now. You have a lot of options to go forth. "Knight of Sword" have more of that neoclassical feeling, nice drums fills and Fuki sounds amazing. You can go with live "Angreifer" or the MV of "Unending Sorceress" to more focus on harsh vocals of Shiren vs clean vocals by Fuki. Or you could go to see how much of genius Shiren is for composing songs, checking the MV for "CADAVER / REVADAC" (yeah, same song played forwards and "backwards"). Another great band people tend to forget is Yousei Teikoku. My favorite song is "Shito Kanadeshi Hametuno Tattegoto". Some other great japanese bands are SCANDAL (more of a all-around-rock band, as a guitarist I'm curious to see what you think of "Fuzzy"), NEMOPHILA (MV "Raitei"), Mary's Blood ("Death Queen's March" live), TRiDENT ("Ambivalence" with some bass love), BRIDEAR ("Scream" live), FAKE ISLAND ("Fortune"), Zettai Club (try the MV "夢幻大スリラー"), tricot (cool math rock band, try the MV for "悪戯")... I guess it's enough for now, haha.
Their genre is mostly power metal with emphasis on speed. They have become more symphonic with the addition of violinist Jill around 2015. Red hair guitarist (Shiren) is their harsh vocalist and band leader/composer. Drummer (Fumiya) is a guy btw xD 8:30 I believe the red hair guitarist has a very typical Visual Kei appearence. Visual Kei is a fashion movement that derived from Japan's rock/metal scene around the 80s and maintained its influence eversince. The fashion style of the Violinist Jill is something specifically called Gothic Lolita. Other band members adopted some type gothic appearence.
Very interesting insights about the styles of the band members, it's definitely something that caught my curiosity. I'll have to read more into that, thanks!
It's funny how people often think the drummer is a girl at first 😄 This seems to be one of their more popular songs, but I'm not the biggest fan of it. There is a live version where the violin plays one of the guitar parts, which I like more. Since the violinist joined the band only recently, a lot of their songs don't utilize the violin too well.
@@akaalexanderking Morishita Fumiya is a man. But you are not the first. There have already been a lot of TH-cam. They thought Fumiya was a woman.I am not a TH-camr. But when I first heard and watched the band. I thought Fumiya was a woman too.

Awsome both my favourite Band covered Band Maid and Unlucky Morpheus both for different reasons...please listen to a live for unlucky morpheus they need more recognition Fuki female vocals Shiren male vocals composition guitarr( not as often because of an illness) Jinya second(or main how you see it) guitarr Fumiya drummgod Jiil lovely heavy violin Ogawa badass basist with nice selective solos sadly not that often im not nativ in the english language but hope this might b helpfull to nyone interested
Except for Fuki, the vocalist, and Jill, the violinist, they're all male. But very cool of you to pick up on drummer FUMIYA on your first reaction to the band. A lot of people tend to focus on the two women when they listen to UM for the first time. FUMIYA is an absolute beast and probably one of the best drummers out there, period. But he, the guitarists Shiren and Jinya, and bass player Ogawa are often overlooked in the first few reactions, mainly because of Fuki's incredible voice and Jill's violin, even though they're all incredibly talented. If you want more of Jill, the violinist, you should check out the covers they uploaded on their official channel recently. Or some of the more popular songs she's more featured in, like Angreifer, CADAVER/REVADAC or La voix du sang. Black Pentagram is one of the songs in which she's "less noticeable" in my opinion because there's so much going on on all fronts. She's also the guest violinist on the new album of FATE GEAR (another Japanese all-female metal band), but I don't know if there are any songs from it uploaded to TH-cam yet, I don't really follow FATE GEAR that much. Vocalist Fuki, who I think is the best metal vocalist in Japan, has a few other projects, too. Mainly her "solo" project Fuki Commune and another all-female band called DOLL$BOXX, which I don't know if they're together anymore, not a fan of them, sorry. The harsh vocals are from Shiren, the guitarist with the dyed hair. He's the founder and main composer of the band. Unfortunately he developed chronic Tenosynovitis, so he often can't play whole concerts anymore and even left his other band Yousei Teikoku in 2018 because of it. Jill often takes over his guitar solos with her violin if he needs a rest. To say something to your intro: The metal and rock scene in Japan was "developed" in the 80s by Visual Kei bands, the most succesful one being X Japan, they sold out Tokyo Dome several years in a row in the mid-90s (roughly 60k fans) with their New Years concerts. They're something like the Metallica of Japan, people like Gene Simmons said in interviews that they would have been the biggest band in the world if they would've been from the US or UK. If you ask a Japanese metal/rock musician who their influences are, probably 8 out of 10 answer with X Japan or a member of it. But with their disbandment in 1997 the scene took a really big hit and almost completely vanished from mainstream. A lot of young(er) people in Japan (born mid-90s and after) have no idea what metal is or have a totally wrong idea of it because, even though there were always talented bands, nobody listened to the music or at least very few admitted to listening to it regularly. A lot of people probably won't be happy with that fact because of prejudice, but it was brought back to the public eye between 2011 and 2014, mainly by BABYMETAL.They were the first not-founded-in-the-80s metal/rock band/group to actually sell out arenas regularly again (and still are the only one). They are also one of the biggest reasons why a lot of Japanese metal and rock bands, especially all-female bands, are so popular nowadays on TH-cam.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this, it's fascinating learning how the scene developed in Japan. X Japan in Europe are almost a cult band, not many know them but the ones who do (mostly musicians) have a huge admiration for them, myself included. Thanks again!
Great to see you checking out another amazing Japanese band! If you want to try more by Unlucky Morpheus I'd suggest taking a look at their live performance of Angreifer next, violin takes a bit more spotlight in that one and you can really see how great they are live. You can find it here: th-cam.com/video/gGKWgM4IOgc/w-d-xo.html After that if still looking for more I might suggest checking out one of the Quatratum From Unlucky Morpheus videos which is the drummer, bassist, one guitarist and the violinist from UM doing covers - Far Beyond The Sun or The Dance of Eternity might pique your interest. I've also seen a number of other people in the comments suggesting you check out Doll$Boxx as it's another of Fuki's many projects. I already wrote you something verging on essay length about Doll$Boxx in one of your Lovebites videos the other days so won't write it all out again, but will just join the chorus suggesting them as one to check out. I would say that stylistically Doll$Boxx cut their own path and mix and match a number of genres into their own hybrid of rock/pop/metal/funk/electro with the different elements being freely amplified or diminished depending on the song, so don't go into them expecting something just like Unlucky Morpheus! As I'd mentioned in my previous comment, Take My Chance is a common starting point: th-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/w-d-xo.html Shout Down is also a good starting point: th-cam.com/video/FVfRwBeCnE0/w-d-xo.html I'm also again going to plug this criminally underexposed bit of footage of them performing 3 songs live I talked about in my comment on your Lovebites video: th-cam.com/video/Q_ufJIdkbR0/w-d-xo.html Finally, you mentioned wanting to be able to say something about the bass in this video, I'll say that you'll definitely be able to make out the bass and form some opinions on it for Doll$Boxx!

Also male :)
There is one more member of the band, who you never realy see, as he only appears at some of the live shows in Japan.
Try "Angreifer" (live)
Here are some other Japanese bands you may like.
Nemophila - Oiran
Fate Gear - Headless Goddess
Galmet - Zero

The Japanese metal scene is now opening up more to the world these day, and that can be put down to one band, love or hate them, Babymetal.
Long but extremely informative. Thank you so much for taking the time! 🤘🏻
This is a great comment. I've learned more today than ever trying to read music reviews in Japanese publications. I think we are many people here in the west, but In Japan too, looking for good music articles. I hope music journalism get back to its roots. Bands needs better exposure than simple publicity. Thank you!
A very interesting twist on symphonic metal. Which band should I react to next? :)

Oh man you must do the live video of this song it will blow you away!!
Thanks Jay, I wouldn't be surprised!
Here are links to instrumentals featuring her in UM’s instrumental project Quadratum:
Cover of van Halen "Eruption" th-cam.com/video/eTb0TQtVT6k/w-d-xo.html
Cover of Malmsteen "Far Beyond the Sun" th-cam.com/video/E2hZDzJp9Pc/w-d-xo.html Cover of Dream Theater, played blindfolded: th-cam.com/video/8eZVVtaOBKk/w-d-xo.html
Jesus, that's honestly impressive. Especially if, as I imagine, she keeps this level of performance throughout all her projects!
Since you already mentioned some of my favourites Maximum The Hormone, Band Maid, a few other variations to start with:
Crystal Lake: progressive, metal core
Doll$Box: A Fuki project
Nemophila, Mary's Blood, Trident, Scandal, Mutant Monster: all more girl power
Wagamama Rakia: Fusion of metal and the Idol concept (especially 'Survive' video)
Thanks Paul! I've listened to only a couple of Maximum the Hormone tracks, but absolutely loved them. Could you recommend me something more by them?
@@akaalexanderking Some reaction favourites are "Yoshu Fukushu", "A.L.I.E.N" and "Hungry Pride". MTH are the Happiest 'metal' band I know, and irreverent. "Koi no sperma" is super fun.
Fantastic, thank you do much Paul 👍🏻
Thanks! Doll$box are gonna be covered soon on the channel ;)
That sounds very interesting Yeray, I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the recommendations!
Ciao! 🗾🎌🎸
Ciao Christopher, thanks a lot for the info!
That drummer is a beast! So original in his pattern choices, I was really impressed 🤘🏻
Such a unique blend!

Thank you for reacting to my recommendation.
Unlucky Morpheus in my Top 5 🇯🇵
The live version is even better, as the Violinist is superior to what you have seen.

Thanks a lot, I'll definitely come back to this quite often!
Thanks for the suggestions, noting all of them down!
Their genre is mostly power metal with emphasis on speed. They have become more symphonic with the addition of violinist Jill around 2015. Red hair guitarist (Shiren) is their harsh vocalist and band leader/composer. Drummer (Fumiya) is a guy btw xD
8:30 I believe the red hair guitarist has a very typical Visual Kei appearence.
It's funny how people often think the drummer is a girl at first 😄
This seems to be one of their more popular songs, but I'm not the biggest fan of it. There is a live version where the violin plays one of the guitar parts, which I like more.
Since the violinist joined the band only recently, a lot of their songs don't utilize the violin too well.
Oh, is he a guy? I probably watched too many Band-Maid and Lovebites videos 😂
@@akaalexanderking Morishita Fumiya is a man. But you are not the first. There have already been a lot of TH-cam. They thought Fumiya was a woman.I am not a TH-camr. But when I first heard and watched the band. I thought Fumiya was a woman too.

Ahahaha always love to read comments and talk about music with you guys!
Just listening to your commentary. See my other comment for links to tons of metal violin solos by Jill.
Black pentagram is for unlucky morpheus what dice is for band maid, imho.
timeless classics and each one is a staple to show what the band is about.
Should I expect more violin in the other songs?
Jill on the violin is a true rockstar and solid part of the band.
in many live performances she takes one of the dueling (guitar) solo parts.
Thanks for the info :)
Great to see you checking out another amazing Japanese band! If you want to try more by Unlucky Morpheus I'd suggest taking a look at their live performance of Angreifer next, violin takes a bit more spotlight in that one and you can really see how great they are live. You can find it here: th-cam.com/video/gGKWgM4IOgc/w-d-xo.html
After that if still looking for more I might suggest checking out one of the Quatratum From Unlucky Morpheus videos which is the drummer, bassist, one guitarist and the violinist from UM doing covers - Far Beyond The Sun or The Dance of Eternity might pique your interest.
As I'd mentioned in my previous comment, Take My Chance is a common starting point: th-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/w-d-xo.html
Shout Down is also a good starting point: th-cam.com/video/FVfRwBeCnE0/w-d-xo.html
I'm also again going to plug this criminally underexposed bit of footage of them performing 3 songs live I talked about in my comment on your Lovebites video: th-cam.com/video/Q_ufJIdkbR0/w-d-xo.html
Finally, you mentioned wanting to be able to say something about the bass in this video, I'll say that you'll definitely be able to make out the bass and form some opinions on it for Doll$Boxx!
Really looking forward to that, I'll post a reaction for Doll$box very soon! Thanks for the info and the support ;)
