Unlucky Morpheus (UM) were started in 2008, as a side project, Shiren and Fuki. They were in another band that was also a side project that did covers of video game songs, after the band stopped Fuki told Shiren that she had enjoyed working with him and wanted to do it again, so UM was started, It was just the 2 of them for a number of years. They did Touhou (a video game series in Japan) arrangement albums. After a few years the fans wanted to see them live, so they asked some friends to help them play live. In 2013, they added another member, who is also a singer who Shiren also had a side project with, then they slowly added other members, with Jill violin being the last in 2016, at this point it was still a side project, as all the members were in other bands, 1 or 2 still are. It wasn't until about 2017/18 that they started to make it more full time, as they started to release that they had become popular, not only in Japan, but around the world. So it's not surprising that you had never heard of them. They did their 1st tour of Japan in 2017 and played outside Japan for the 1st time in Oct 2019 in London, where I saw them. Shiren (lead guitar/growls) has tendonitis of the arm, so has to rest it, now and again, so Jill takes over his part playing violin, like with this song when live, they also do it in another song, Angreifer. Fuki is also untrained as a singer, it's all natural talent, as Fuki said, she sang like it at school, it's something she picked up from her mother, who sings the same way. Fuki is just a workaholic, in 15 years she has been involved in over 90 releases, mostly full albums. Apart from being in UM she is also in Doll$boxx, a side project between her and Gacharic Spin (pop rock), she also has her own solo act, plus many other things she is part of inc guest appearances. She is also a designer and occasionally does modeling work. From her solo work try "Fuki - Bloody Rain" or "Juliet". I've seen Fuki in person more than once, including an absolutely mind-blowing set in the Doll$Boxx side project she's part of (Dec. 2017, in Roppongi). I was an arm's length from the elevated stage and at one point I could hear her. Not her voice in the sound system...HER. Ex Theater Roppongi is a pretty big venue, and the sound system was loud. She not only has beautiful tone and great feeling, she's got unreal power.

Don't forget huge slabs of Yngwie Malmsteen-style neoclassical guitar. If you like that, Galneryus is right yp your alley. Fuki uses the traditional Japanese vocal technique of heavy vibrato at the end of each line.
dont know if youve heard anything frorm them but lovebites is another great metal band with an amazing vocalist as well. fuki is still by far my favorite since she was still with light bringer
No doubt about fuki voice, absolutely godly, and the harsh vocal was the red haired guitarist, in the last few years his arm injuries getting worse so he did more focused in vocal and just playing a little in solo section. On the live version in some of their songs he just resting his arm, doing vocal and let Jill doing his guitar part on violin, including the solo.. Try ANGREIFER live, for more growls and more violin play.. And try react to Angel of Salvation live from Galneryus, and get ready for a long journey (literally long song) with the amazing guitar work..
i would suggest few of their song that in my opinion is very underrated unlucky morpheus - la voix du sang probably has one of my favorite vocals of al their song change of generation is also underrated despite being the title of one of their album there is also "tower of blood" if you want to see Jill(violin) in the spot light literally, it's also one of the few songs which Fuki sings in 2 different style

Japan's metal and hard rock scene is insanely good.

Literally a song made with Attack on Titan on their minds. The entire band is a bunch of nerds and I love them.
