These are the ladies of my youth. Their voices carried me through 2 tours in Viet-Nam. I have been an avid fan of both ever since. I lost over 400 friends back then and sent many to their God but still hold onto the sound of these two gals. I could not end a night without it. Thank you Judy and Joan!!!!
I met Judy at the children's hospital of PA during my orthopedic surgery. She was beautiful, sweet, caring, and she had the most beautiful voice. What an honor is must be to be able to know this woman personally and I will never forget the day I met her.
This made me cry, the love of old friends looking out for one another as we all have to embrace the changes of age. Both ladies ageing gracefully. Beautiful to listen too. 🌺🌺
O my! So very beautiful, so sensitive and gentle and deeply moving. I am saddened by critics who base their assessment on age and looks. These women are legends and we are truly blessed by their work, and thanks for uploading, thank you thankyou
My husband was a friend of Judy Collins' brother, Dave; As they played Ball at Cheeseman Park in Denver, Colorado, they would go back to the Collins house, where they could hear Judy practicing in the background. This was the early 60s; had no idea what a star she would become!
So moving, such a raw song and the performers just as strong as ever they were in the full flush of youth. Two amazingly strong gorgeous women, such an inspiration. Thank you!
This took me back to how great these two ladies sounded on my first high end audio system in the 70's When you listen to this music, it just emphasizes the quality difference between what we had during that period and the shit that passes for talent today!
This is beautiful. If I wasn't watching I wouldn't know who was who singing or playing. Their voices are so similiar. Thank you for sharing. I am getting teary eyed listening along.
Wonderful. Wonderful. Most Wonderful Share!!! These two are icons - and their music is for eternity. Seeing them together here, just made my heart sing. Thank you so much!
As a singer/songwriter I am most frequently compared to Joan and Judy by listeners, which is a huge honor! I was really happy to see this video with both my idols performing together. :)
Brings back so many memories of the Dylan/Baez collaboration and love affair all those years ago. Now THAT was a power couple!! Judy Collins remains a diamond.
I remember when my friends and I spent many a magical hour in Greenwich Village at Gerde's Folk City listening to the songs we loved and imagining what PEACE would be like in this world. The hope never fades and the music is embedded in our minds. Jose Feliciano, Judy Collins, Pete Seeger, Brother john Sellers, Peter, Paul and Mary ( Whatever happened in Hunalee?) Remember?
Oh... They sound wonderful. How nice to see these two amazing singers performing together! I agree, they get better with age - just like good wine. Thank you for posting this.
They only get better with age. Thanks for posting this recent video of these ladies. I couldn't believe how much fun I had seeing Joan Baez the last time, only a few years ago. In 1968 at UCLA she was much more political. It was during the war of course and tensions ran high. She still hates war, but knows how to kick up her heels a little more.
Quand j'étais jeune, j'étais étudiant à Temple U à Philadelphie et j'ai eu la joie d'assister au spectacle de Judy Collins... Que de temps est passé... Joan, j'ai pu l'entendre deux fois à Nîmes depuis. When I was Young, I was a student at Temple U, in Philadelphia and I had the great joy to assist tha great Judy Collins show... So much time has past since then... Joan, I could ear her twice in Nîmes since then. By the way, if anybody assisted classes at Temple U in the 70's, let me know. Maybe we met already ? I have a Facebook account under my name : Johan Abit.
Touchant...
Awesome - love the comaradarie and respect that Joan and Judy have for one another - this is so obvious - the hugs at the end of the song were so beautiful. D & R with Joan and Judy is now available on Joan's latest CD Paradise - love it. Saskia
Down the street at Carnegie hall and Lincoln Center the professional musicians playing in the world class symphonies always use a music+ stand. Elvis used a cheat sheet with lyrics - when someone asked why he could get away with it- He said because I'm Elvis. I understand the point but Joan wrote the song decades ago and it looks like Judy Collins and she were trying out some sophisticated harmonies. I appreciate that the great Joanie was turning pages for another legend, it shows humility..
@Proculled Oh you lucky thing - I've been a fan of Joan's for nearly 50 years and have yet to see her in concert, I live in Australia. Judy's CD's is wonderful each song is wonderful, however D & R with Joan is the greatest of course - I get goosebumps every time I listen to them - I believe Judy recorded her part in NY and Joan somewhere in a studio in SF and it came together beautifully. Saskia
Harkanon I guarantee you that most baby boomers watching these two ladies on TH-cam were NOT the ones that fucked up the planet. You’re preaching to the choir here! Haha
Watch! At the very beginning, just before they start singing, when the crowd recognizes the tune and starts cheering, Judy says to Joan, "I told you so." LOL
Very moving... Takes you to so many Times & Places... Must have been an earth-stopping moment in a quite amazing show - will it ever come again? Thanks for sharing :)

Welcome home, brother.
These two ladies are reminiscent of two angels, singing gentler than all nightingales of this world ...
I met Judy at the children's hospital of PA during my orthopedic surgery. She was beautiful, sweet, caring, and she had the most beautiful voice. What an honor is must be to be able to know this woman personally and I will never forget the day I met her.
it's wonderful to see these two together.
Wow! Two great legends together singing a legendary song! Thank you! They sounded wonderful together!

Beautiful Judy and Joan.

Judy is still a soprano. Amazing that she can still sing in her old keys. Joan can't, but she sounds good, too. Great harmony between them.
So great to see people like Joan Judy Joni , Emmy Lou still sending shivers up my spine like they did fifty years ago
their harmonies and unisons are heaven. they really should record this.
I was so touched listening to this music and seeing these two icons on my youth together on stage... looking more gorgeous than ever. So beautiful.
The eternal song and the Eternal Joan
Can anyone find two better folk singers than these 2 great ladies? Wow! Such powerful voices and words this song puts forth.
They are incredible good-when legends sing-so beautiful. Talented women at their best.
Judy Blue Eyes still can nail it. And Ms. Baez has more left than most people ever had. A great duet.
So moving, such a raw song and the performers just as strong as ever they were in the full flush of youth. Two amazingly strong gorgeous women, such an inspiration. Thank you!
They just brought out a new dimension in that song. Their musicality is matchless! Bravo!

One beautfull song and two awesome singers !!!
This song was released in 75; written in 74, and I wonder how those who criticize the appearances of these two legends will look 38/39 years from now.
@SaskiaCornell Thanks for the tip.Have just ordered the CD from Amazon.I got to see and hear Joan live last year. Will always remember that evening.
They have the words out so they both know which lines are theirs!
Stop nitpicking at two fantastic singers and just appreciate the music

I get goose bumps hearing Joan hit the last note.
This was obviously very painful for Joan. 😢
Watch! At the very beginning, just before they start singing, when the crowd recognizes the tune and starts cheering, Judy says to Joan, "I told you so." LOL
