I really like the idea of using cluster missiles for very silly purposes. Huge missile, delivers a single large missile, delivers a single medium missile, delivers a single small missile.
Some ideas: Spinal mount only, no turrets. The spirit of it is that all of your weapons face forward. Dont get flanked. AI only: no manual weapon aiming, no manual piloting. Your craft is your baby and you must help it spread its wings and fly without you. No weapons that fire more than 60 RPM, or no weapons under 300 RPM.
One of my favourite designs you've done so far. Love the idea of the armour being attached by like mechanical arms/struts then directly bolted on/built in.
37:00 I'm sure someone else has mentioned it, but you can use decos to make things truly invisible by using the "Mimic: Empty" mesh. there's also some other shapes under the "Mimic: xxx" name, like sphere, hexagon, and donut (torus) that are hard to make otherwise. Also, it's great to see you getting more familiar with decos! They're amazing for detailing and personally I can never go back to not using them.

We emphasize the why because *_"why_*_ would you make it a quadruped?"_ Nearly half of the appeal of Dragons for me is the _vertebrate hexapod_ body structure, we just don't see that in nature and seeing artists make it real enough brings me great joy.

A good run! Personally not a fan of missiles but glad to see you enjoy it! A really hard challenge run you could do is a volume limit, force yourself to build dense and high cost instead of spaced armor behemoths. Really play around with the ultra high cost weapons and defense systems

I would love to see a video of adventure mode on a ship that consumes no resources and uses only particle cannons. It would be super unique and interesting, and I rarely see people actually use particle cannons as a main gun.
Challenge idea: you must use the built-in crafts, maybe sticking to one faction, but you only need to keep the cosmetic look of them, and if you want to build bigger, then you must chose a bigger craft and convert. Great video as always!

Alright Lathrix, here is your latest challenge: Build one large craft. Ballistic weapons only (cram, advanced cannons, missiles, simple weapons) Your gun calibre may not exceed 150mm or 6 inches, you may only use small missiles. No railguns, no EMP, no laser defences, no melee. The goal is to make a very large craft absolutely bristling with turrets.
one of my all-time favorite weapons youve ever designed was a torpedo that released hundreds of magnetic mines. such an awesome looking splintering effect that just clings to enemy ships. Loved to see weapons developed like that in the future! Great video Lath!!!

id like to see a run where you combine everything you've learned from these solo weapon challenges to just build the most bonkers unstoppable craft possible at some point, and perhaps after that do an all weapons minimum cost challenge
Suggestion for another RP run, or just an element to add: scavenging. Killing too many enemies? Is your cargo filled with engine blocks, exhausts, and useless particle tubes? Fling them at your enemies! I'd love to see a huge engine block as a kinetic warhead, a swarm of exhausts and the like...
i honestly would love a Small Missile only run. the neverending stream of staggered tiny missiles shredding everything they are targeting was so very satisfying and i'm now just imagining what a true Never-Ending Barrage would look like and how effective it would truely be.
One idea we would love to see for a future Adventure Mode novie would be a "short range" or "melee" playthrough! Perhaps all of your weapons are limited to 500m range or less (or at least, beyond that range is much less effective) and you have to really get close, even in the late game difficulty. You can choose how to approach the attack range - stealth, or speed? Stealthy speed? Speedy stealth!
its been a while since we have seen lath pull out a big laser. It could be an interesting run where you are allowed to use smaller weapons like missiles or advanced cannons, but the bulk of your damage has to be one giant laser system.
Got an interesting challenge for you Lathtrix. It's the WW2 challenge, you can built whatever you want. But you can only use technology available in WW2.
FYI: you can make decorations truly invisible, rather than just hiding them. In the search bar, type “empty”. The “Mimic: empty” mesh is entirely invisible, and can be used with the hide original mesh toggle to hide blocks.
The fact that missiles can be cosmetically changed is so cool, hipe they do stuff like dragon heads at the muzzles of cannons and stuff, also would laser or particle cannon only be a possibility or maybe all explosive
Here is an idea for a change. Aside from a construction base and a mineing outputs you can only use designs from your surval runs to win a campaign, so you can only edit one of the early space craft for a spy satellite, but everything else has to be unaltered from one of your survival runs
I remember the double-layered airship you mean when describing your inspiration, but I can't recall its name either. It ended a run of yours once by spawning twice in a row and has since had a considerable presence, with two massive max-gauge rapid-fire advanced cannons in the middle. I believe it has a single very large hard point connecting the top and bottom sections near the back (which doubtless hold some of the cannon's connective components if not more) and smaller ones near the middle and front, and otherwise looks for all the world like two airships lashed vertically around the space a third should be. It's a cool design, for sure, as most craft that try something similar do so horizontally, including some of the faction's other units. A big part of it is having so much open space between the two sections, rather than keeping them close together and connecting them repeatedly. The zeppelin-with-a-superstructure appearance (which is inherently kind of reminiscent of a flying submarine) can be good to keep in mind, as despite being built out of armor with buildings on top such craft generally benefit from keeping the shape of a soft-body airship, with a more rounded nose in particular. Having a version of such a craft that looks like the bottom section has been torn off, like yours before adding the lower section, would make for a pretty cool visual, with different length connectors, some loose parts simply hanging and solid points more misshapen. 1:26:01 I believe it's recalling them to refil their fuel and ammo periodically.

id like to see a run where you combine everything you've learned from these solo weapon challenges to just build the most bonkers unstoppable craft possible at some point, and perhaps after that do an all weapons minimum cost challenge
Suggestion for another RP run, or just an element to add: scavenging.
Killing too many enemies? Is your cargo filled with engine blocks, exhausts, and useless particle tubes?
Fling them at your enemies!
I'd love to see a huge engine block as a kinetic warhead, a swarm of exhausts and the like...

i honestly would love a Small Missile only run. the neverending stream of staggered tiny missiles shredding everything they are targeting was so very satisfying and i'm now just imagining what a true Never-Ending Barrage would look like and how effective it would truely be.
One idea we would love to see for a future Adventure Mode novie would be a "short range" or "melee" playthrough! Perhaps all of your weapons are limited to 500m range or less (or at least, beyond that range is much less effective) and you have to really get close, even in the late game difficulty.
You can choose how to approach the attack range - stealth, or speed? Stealthy speed? Speedy stealth!
its been a while since we have seen lath pull out a big laser. It could be an interesting run where you are allowed to use smaller weapons like missiles or advanced cannons, but the bulk of your damage has to be one giant laser system.
Submarine only sounds amazing, dropping floating bombs from underneath ships, missile striking people from below? ideal gaming.

It's the WW2 challenge, you can built whatever you want. But you can only use technology available in WW2.
FYI: you can make decorations truly invisible, rather than just hiding them. In the search bar, type “empty”. The “Mimic: empty” mesh is entirely invisible, and can be used with the hide original mesh toggle to hide blocks.
Ah, good old missiles, should give them a go them decorators, can't believe I have ignored them even to this day lol!
The fact that missiles can be cosmetically changed is so cool, hipe they do stuff like dragon heads at the muzzles of cannons and stuff, also would laser or particle cannon only be a possibility or maybe all explosive

For when lathrix was talking about wyvern's, it's more or less depending on where your from, both are technically correct.
Here is an idea for a change. Aside from a construction base and a mineing outputs you can only use designs from your surval runs to win a campaign, so you can only edit one of the early space craft for a spy satellite, but everything else has to be unaltered from one of your survival runs
I remember the double-layered airship you mean when describing your inspiration, but I can't recall its name either. It ended a run of yours once by spawning twice in a row and has since had a considerable presence, with two massive max-gauge rapid-fire advanced cannons in the middle. I believe it has a single very large hard point connecting the top and bottom sections near the back (which doubtless hold some of the cannon's connective components if not more) and smaller ones near the middle and front, and otherwise looks for all the world like two airships lashed vertically around the space a third should be. It's a cool design, for sure, as most craft that try something similar do so horizontally, including some of the faction's other units. A big part of it is having so much open space between the two sections, rather than keeping them close together and connecting them repeatedly. The zeppelin-with-a-superstructure appearance (which is inherently kind of reminiscent of a flying submarine) can be good to keep in mind, as despite being built out of armor with buildings on top such craft generally benefit from keeping the shape of a soft-body airship, with a more rounded nose in particular.
Having a version of such a craft that looks like the bottom section has been torn off, like yours before adding the lower section, would make for a pretty cool visual, with different length connectors, some loose parts simply hanging and solid points more misshapen.
