    Hey Stuart - now that really is a mod worth looking into. My Dad's old Mackeson Stout analogy comes to mind..."They look good, They sound good, and by golly they do you good". I kept wondering how to get around the maintenance issues on the back end and this is such an easy fix. Great video and even better dialogue - thankyou Sir!

      Hey up Paul, well I certainly like them! if you do decide to take the plunge just check compatibility of your VIN number on their website. they are working on another version for the newest T120 so it shouldn't long if yours is too new! as always mate nice to hear from you and thanks for watching!

    I’ve been looking at these on British Customs website for a while now, but really wanted to hear a clear example of how they sound. You’ve convinced me. This is the way to go, until someone comes out with a better peashooter setup than the factory ones.

    • @stuartfillingham
      @stuartfillingham  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      good to hear sir! just check with BC to make sure they will fit, these tips are only compatable up to a certain vin number!

      stuart fillingham just got them installed, your video was invaluable help! Only minor snags were: that rubber center stand stop was indeed a major pain to get into the new bracket; getting the passenger foot pegs off without disassembling them entirely; and the long bolts left behind from the silencers (I took the rubber bushings and spacers out of the silencers, and used the to reattach the foot pegs to fill that space). Bike really sounds the part now!

    • @stuartfillingham
      @stuartfillingham  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes the foot peg bolt is a bit long, good idea re the spacers i never thought of that! thanks for watching!

    On the record concerning the pipes and their sound, what I did is I underwent a catalytic converter delete and Stuart, let me tell you, the rip and roar of the pipes was immediate and immense. I believe I also gained some horsepower too. Without a doubt, the best "downgrade" I have subjected my cycle to so far. Well worth every cent and then some.

      Thanks for sharing that Zach your a badass sir! I understand that you dont have to remap for the cat delete either! I promise you, you'll be shocked by the difference of sound. My jaw dropped. Even my Father (who used to ride a 64 Bonnie) said to me, "Son, I didn't want to say anything when I first heard it, but it just didn't sound like my Triumph, but now... now THAT sounds like my old 64!"

    I checked with British Customs to look into getting the exhaust tips. I noticed they indicate that T120 models with a Vin # greater than a certain number will not fit properly. In a chat, they indicate that Triumph changed the length of the heat shield. If yours fits this description, it might be why yours don't fit perfectly on the left side. They are working on the solution. Also; excellent video as always. I enjoy watching. Thanks.

    • @stuartfillingham
      @stuartfillingham  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Phil mine is an early VIN the problem is with the weird way Triumph trimmed the exhaust shroud at an angle its not really noticable but it was magnified in HD. good to hear they are looking at a version for the 2017 model! thanks for watching

    Hi Stuart,
    Thank you for the really informative video, still valid to date!
    Just bought these BC tips (on ebay - new in original packaging) however they didn't come with a centre stand stopper bracket, so it seems like I'll have to source that elsewhere.
    I was therefore hoping you could kindly provide the dimensions for that L shaped plate where possible.

    Nice job, Stuart - As always. I added these tips to my 2016 t120 and love the sound and the look. Thank you for your great installation video which was very much appreciated as the British Custom tips came without any instructions and no installation vids on their website. I suggest they simply link to your TH-cam video, or hire you directly!! I did modify the heat shield on the left hand side with a Dremel cutoff tool, which IMHO makes a big improvement as without this mod the left hand side looks a bit wonky.

    Stuart, did you do anything about the gap left behind by the pea shooter bracket that sits between the the rear peg and the saddle holders? I didn't get anything from British Customs to fill that gap and the fit of the saddle holders seems less than optimal now.

    • @jhboricua
      @jhboricua 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @stuartfillingham
      @stuartfillingham  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see! all i can say Jose is that it all fits as per my video. it shouldn't affect the way the pannier brackets fit,

    • @jhboricua
      @jhboricua 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      stuart fillingham Yeah, what was missing on the video is that when you remove the silencer from the rear peg, you want to remove the rubber spacer/washer that's on the silencer bracket and put it between the rear peg screw and the pannier bracket.

    nice idea. but for me i'd prefere a 2-1 pipe on the right hand side . it would look gorgeous and only need one silencer ... in fact ive seen a scrambler with the same sort of system and as much as i liked the bike the new look just looked right. sounded bloody awsome too .... just a shame he was pulling away at the time so no idea what system it was but posibley a TEC ?

    Great video again Stuart, not sure about the tips but as you say the standard silencers leave a lot to be desired. I own a 2009 Thruxton with the BC Predator pipes which I love. The one thing I hate about my bike is the uncomfortable seat. Numb arse seat is the best way to describe it . Is your seat a standard seat or after market? Have you heard of any good comfortable seat replacements or is the only way to go is to replace the sponge and cover?

    • @stuartfillingham

    Do you have the decimal readings to compare stock vs the British custom tips? I know you said the tips sound louder but once testing they are almost identical. Just would be nice to know how close to identical with the numbers. I’ve been looking at these but have been afraid it will make the bike to loud to enjoy for my self or neighbors when I leave early in the morning.

    The cat thing is a bunch of malarkey, that taking it off will hurt performance of bike. It would appear it improves it.

    • @stuartfillingham7011
      @stuartfillingham7011 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Walt Tanner hmmm theres no doubt it does control emmissions which is something we ignore at our peril. However these bikes are in their own right, cat aside, very frugal machines with great fuel economy. So emmissions are inherantly low anyway! So i agree. A decat is something i am looking at when i find something i like. I understand you get less heat sink so the engine will run cooler which is not a bad thing and ive also heard fuel economy improves! The captain told me it does not need to be re mapped either!

    Hi Stuart,
    Great job on the Videos. Recent subscriber and T120 Owner.
    Just a quick note: The BC Tips are listed as only being compatible with VIN # lower than 783814 (last six digits), not sure why. I hope BC comes out with a mod to assist the new bikes too.

      Im not sure i understand your question sir, any change with the exhaust system will require you to go through the ECU acclimatisation process, very simple to do see my video on the sleeper pro exhausts.

    • @Trialstire
      @Trialstire 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yes, very good.
      I was curious if with the Exhaust Changes you mentioned having fitment issues with BC tips, if the Delete Cat modification is know to have any fitment issues, like the BC Tips did.
      Thanks for all your responses.

    Hi Stuart, thanks so much for your bloody great videos. I installed these yesterday on my T120 Black 2018 and they fit quite well. I’m wondering if you can muffle them a little? I’ve also got an x pipe in and it might be too loud.

      did you have to adgust the engine settings by using external computer or did you go to the official triumph service to do that? My only concern is that injector engines need to have that sort of engine tuning after swapping exhaust system to another type

    • @stuartfillingham
      @stuartfillingham  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Margaret yes i believe they are in the UK they dont increase volume so theya re well below permitted levels the construction and use regs say any silencer fitted should comply with EU regs however I have not fitted a silencer it is just a decorative tip! The catalytic converter deals with the environmental emmisions so as far as i can see they are within the law! others may have different views and I'm always willing to listen!

      That's a real bummer. Any suggestions you have for small slip ons for the T100 would be great. Really don't want cones like the Predator Pros, and the OEM peashooters are whisper quiet, and when I take them off, running just the header pipes is obnoxiously loud (Although it was nice to finally hear my actual engine for a minute).

    Hi Stuart, great vid as always and very informative. Did you notice any issues with the motor using the tips? I was advised (by a dealer) that removing the stock pipes for straight pipes or tips can cause issues due to the lack of back pressure... any thoughts? I'm thinking of de-catting and getting some baffle-less cones if its not too loud. Cheers in advance.

    • @stuartfillingham
      @stuartfillingham  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No none at all sir, I think your dealer is a little confused, back pressure does only one thing! it slows your engine down!

      stuart fillingham that’s what I thought, didn’t make sense to me... with the learning ECU I presume you don’t need a remap even if you change the slip one as well? Cheers for the response.

    • @stuartfillingham

      Hi Casey, no Triumph made some changes to the exhaust after 2016 so these tips dont fit out of the box. I am aware that some people have managed to fit them with some modifications, though im not sure what is involved. perhaps a trawl of some of the triumph forums would reveal the solution.
