    I've tried several seats for my Triumph T120: Stock, BC Slammer, Corbin Gunfighter, Tamarit Jerez, and Motone Rattler. Of these, the Rattler is my day-to-day seat of choice. Sleek and sharp looking, the Rattler is a handsome cafe racer seat that doesn't compromise at all on comfort. In fact, I'd say it's more comfortable than the Corbin, which is nearly twice the price and bulkier looking by comparison. Where the Corbin is firm to a fault, the Rattler's high density foam provides support without excessive rigidity. Great product, highly recommended for those looking at aftermarket seat options. Thx for the fine videos, Stuart - greetings from Los Angeles.

      Any comments on how comfortable it would be for a pillion? My wife loves to ride with me and would like the back of the seat to be stepped up a few inches, being that she is shorter than me and can’t see over my shoulders, however I don’t like how bulky looking the king and queen, or the Corbin seats look. Any comments would be appreciated!

I am old enough to remember the original Triumphs and they (from memory which may be tinged with a rose colour) seemed to have more comfortable and better padded seats than today's offerings. Seats are such a subjective product. This is not my style, but, I appreciate that it may appeal to others depending on the theme look they are going for. My favorite was always the Retro seats for the air cooled models, but, I was disappointed they could not produce a similar one for the liquid cooled models. They did produce an offering, but, I felt it missed the mark because of the change in the frame rails and overall width of the seat pan and inability to attached the chrome trim at the bottom. I opted to have my stock seat reconfigured and recovered in solid black. It still is not the perfect looking seat to me, but, it is a lot more comfortable and correct looking vs the stock offering. Looking forward to update on the comfort when you have had a few hundred miles on it. That may take a while unless you stop buying more motorcycles. lol

    Who out there has a flyscreen on their Bonneville? How is the buffeting compared to riding with nothing? I love the looks but I'm thinking it may direct the wind right into my face.
    If you do like yours, which brand do you use? Dart seems popular and affordable. Same for the Triumph brand.
    Thanks.

    • @johnpenczar9192
      @johnpenczar9192 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the tallest Dart (9” I think). It takes the wind off my torso making higher speeds more comfortable. I get clean airflow at my helmet. When I travel at highway speed (75 mph) I can tuck behind the screen to reduce drag. Then sit up for some air breaking.

  • @davidhamilton506

    I have to say Stuart, I dislike how with a lot of motorcycles today, including some Triumph models, manufacturers have seen fit to do away with the rear mudguard, and how the addition of a bracket to hold the number plate and rear lights, would seem as if it's an afterthought, as in *"oh yeah we still need that for the bike to be road legal"* . I imagine, that without the guard, a veritable tsunami of water spray would be drenching the underside of the pillion seat area whilst riding in inclement weather. No, give me the styling of the early Triumphs, BSAs, Nortons, and Royal Enfields, that has been recognised enough to have Triumph and Royal Enfield to continue along those lines. Might I add, the 2017/18/19 Honda CB1100 EX is also another, that in my opinion is the epitome of what a motorcycle should look like. I can't help it, I'm a sucker for lots of chrome, lol. Deep down though I'm a Triumph fan, since my first bike was a 1959 Thunderbird, and a few subsequent Triumphs after that, followed by a Yamaha YDS3 in 1967. Incredible torque from a 250cc two stroke, and your own built in London fog, by way of oil smoke from the twin megaphone mufflers. I imagine today, the Police would defect it, as creating an excessive amount of air pollution. Just an old ex biker's observation, and of course do acknowledge and respect others who would hold a different opinion. Cheers mate, love your videos, as they're a treasure trove of handy hints, and in particular, how to maintain your bike looking like new. Ride and stay safe in these uncertain times...

    Unlike my wallet, I am looking forward to the engine guards. I have the Triumph ones now, as at the time they were the best ones I could find. They won't do much to save the rest of the bike or the rider's legs in an "unplanned gravity assisted event" however.
    I've ridden Harley's for a long time, and the guards, both from H-D and any number of 3rd parties, are far larger in the critical dimension to help preserve the bike, and the rider's legs, as much as possible.
