Shepherds are awful for skin infections, and I say that having had three, including a long haired one currently. They can suddenly develop a, itchy, painful, weeping sore overnight for seemingly no reason at all. There's an old adage for vet students - if you're asked to say a dog breed in which a disease occurs, but don't know, just say German Shepherd. That's especially true in allergies and skin issues. My current boy has an antibacterial shampoo that sits on the shelf waiting for his next hot spot so that I can get it shaved, cleaned and dried as soon as I notice itching and redness to hopefully prevent a full blown infection. It happens so often that I usually spot it before there's even visibly broken skin.

Thanks to Lisa for explaining what cellulitis is. I had no idea it is something so serious, and possibly fatal. Very glad she saved Scotty, who will go on protecting NSW.

I recently lost my German shepherd and am devastated. I know our dogs are special to us, but German shepherds are really a one person dog (although they will love the whole family, just not as much) and that bond is unbreakable. They are so in tune to you, it’s more like a spiritual connection. So when they’re also working for you which makes them really happy, it takes your bond to another level. My girl was a pet, but she was so protective and was basically like an emotional support dog for me, she helped me through some rough times. There are no words to describe this breed at all. ❤❤❤❤❤

Clearly none of y’all have never owned a dog nor even been on the police force. Edit: or even been in Australia, half of these comments are from America😐so, I’m not even surprised.

I felt for him when he said "I do feel really bad" because it is how every pet owner feels whenever a pet is sick or injured. No matter how early you catch on and seek medical treatment, there's always that bit of guilt of "How did I not notice sooner?? I'm with them every day! :( "

Oh poor Scotty! How terrifying to have this happen.
So very glad the boy recovered. Best wishes from Texas.
When I saw it I totally lost it, I'm so glad he is back working with the community, and back to training. 😢❤
So glad he made it. I could feel the officers pain.
Thank you for your service Scotty and so happy to hear you got better.
Awesome recovery. I'm so happy Scottie made it. Thank you Doc for being good at what you do!
What a beautiful officer of the fur kind
Love to see that this police dog is back at work. It seemed really serious and it almost looked like he was crying, broke my heart. I'm so glad he's back and better than ever.
I don't cry much but this got me. Man's best friend.
Hate seeing animals sick and in distress, happy to see him recover and happy again.
I usually don't like repeat clips but could you people please expand on this particular video ? It would be very nice to see the transition from very dangerously ill to recovering very well . Regards from India 😊😊😊
I had cellulitis go from my foot to knee that developed from a friends tiny little cat that scratched me. I was in agony for nearly 2 months. But at least I could talk to doctors unlike this brace boi. Glad he recovered n thank you both for your service! Yours too Lisa! 💙🙏😁👍
Such a strong boy! Feel so happy for this Scotty and David. thanks Lisa!
He was so sick. Amazing how they saved him ❤❤
Thank you for taking care of this miraculous dog. Mine worked with me for the police/sheriff working on homicides for over 5 years
Im a big chicken when it comes to sick animals!! I cry at the drop of a hat like I'm doing now! Dr Lisa acted very quickly to get the AMT of antibiotics into Scotty to save that beautiful Shepard's life......These vets have a wonderful gift from God to be able to heal and/or cure these animals!!! May God keep blessing all of you vets, techs, receptionists and everyone else at Bondi and Sash to give these precious beings their life back when it's God's will.......💞💗💞💗💞💗💞💗💋💋🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Your not a chicken m8! You just got a big heart!
@@CornerFluff Aww thank you CornerFluff how nice of you to say 😊

This brought tears of joy
Man's and woman's best friend ever ❤
So happy to see him feeling well! 💗
that is wonderful for him. I am so happy he is better.. these dogs touch our lives so much.. they need our love!!!
So strange that I just went through similar situation myself. Had a UTI that didn't get better with first antibiotic and turned into kidney infection. Had to stay in hospital and get lots of fluids and strong antibiotics. I also had a very high fever and my heart rate was dangerously low. On the med now thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses. So glad Scottie is also doing better. God bless and stay safe.
So glad you’re healing after your infection. Sounds like it was scary for a few weeks.
I'm glad you better now!!
My sister went through the same thing, however you have done significantly better than her in realising you had a UTI.
She thought and I quote: "I was peeing wrong".
I love her dearly but good gods I lost a few brain cells with that.
Hello Crystal how’s the weather over there
Wonderful news for a great dog who does his best looking out for us
It was awesome to see him back to his great self. Thank you for posting this. Dogs are phenomenal friends.
Thank you for saving that beautiful boy!
Scott, is a beautiful and very intelligent type of dog. I understand why the owner loves him so much. He is unique. Nice he is back in good condition. Life is good nice for both of them.
Thank you for saving them! ❤️❤️ He’s such a good boy!
All our animals on Earth deserve to be loved and respected, caring for them with them.
Wow, what a turn around! I love to see happy endings like this one. I'm glad the Scotty is feeling well and back on the job. What a good dog! (and his master seems to be a good guy also!)
now thats a good looking veterinarian, she's a sweetheart
Dr Lisa my admiration and respect. A very tight hug
Love that Dr Lisa was able to help that gorgeous boy
What a heart warming story. He is such a handsome german shepherd. God bless the vets and his partner for taking good care of this K-9 Officer.
So pleased he is well . I support our local police canine unit every year. 🙏🇨🇦
Hello Jeffrey how are you doing. I believe you are healthy and also having a nice weather where you are. I live in California and I'm looking for a new friend Ok!
Wow, I'm glad he came through this with such strength! Thanks Doc, you're the best!!!
It *really* helps that the patient is young and in great shape.
I am so glad ☺that he is OK. He is such a great dog.
He kept giving kisses to the vet. He definitely knows she helped him feel better.
This one had me in tears. But it was so amazing to see his recovery!
Love the doctor and the dog they’re so cute and the police officer everyone’s cutie other is the dog especially the dog thank you for listening Scotty is so cute I wish I had a dog like him I’m about to get a dog but next year so hope Scotty’s life is healthy again
What a fantastic dog!!! Malinois are a very beautiful breed.
So happy he’s better. Keep serving the police buddy 💙💙
Officer Scotty, you are a joy. Thank you to both of your for your service. I am so happy to see you recovering well.
Scotty is such a sweet boi🤗And he's grateful for the hel💖
Thank you for all those who help rescue and / or have rescued animals❣️
What a good boy. Thank you all the helped him and thank you both for your service.
4:14 is the most funniest thing i even seen! just look at how he lays, it looks like it plays silly death good job vets!
These comments are not it. “Dogs shouldn’t be on the police force” “police treat dogs badly”. Y’all- dogs are used to detect drugs, chase down criminals/drug addicts. Afterwards, the dogs are awarded and given lots of love. As told my father whom was a police officer, all police dogs are taken care of as much as humans are. Clearly none of y’all have never owned a dog nor even been on the police force. Edit: or even been in Australia, half of these comments are from America😐so, I’m not even surprised.
Dr. Lisa is such a Great Doctor. God Bless Dr. Lisa and Her Healings.
Scotty and Dave what an amazing pair, you can see how much David loves him and that’s what I love about K9 cops the dogs aren’t just tools to be used to do their jobs they’re your partner. You have their back and they have yours
Wowzer that was a close call. Thank God for vets that know what to do. I am so glad the Police Dog got well. Our K-9 cops are very important and we can't afford to lose any. Thank you Bondi Vet.
Glad he's okay. Great job to the veterinarian.
What a beautiful dog! So glad that he is safe and healthy.
Wow, brilliant. What a gorgeous happy dog after all that. You two did a great job getting him better 👍
K9 Scotty is absolutely beautiful, I am so glad he’s OK, and back to work with his Daddy. Be safe 🐾🐾🐾
He had a pretty quick recovery. That's good to see
Such a sweet boy Scotty is. And fit too, the way he just casually cleared those barricades at the end as though it was nothing was impressive. ☺️
So very happy for a wonderful outcome for this special soul who has such a special "calling" looking after others. Relieved his parent can now be at peace too and back together with his partner. Bless you all and special blessings to this precious soul Scotty 🤗🐾💞🤗
I felt for him when he said "I do feel really bad" because it is how every pet owner feels whenever a pet is sick or injured. No matter how early you catch on and seek medical treatment, there's always that bit of guilt of "How did I not notice sooner?? I'm with them every day! :( "
it is crazy how well trained some of these dogs are. The fact their leader can basically give them the attack, let go, guard, watch, find or let this lady look in your mouth command. That is what we like to call in the buisness.. a good doggo
God Bless our Police Officer Dogs.
Thank you for Your Service 🐕🦺🐾🐕🦺
And to Bondi Vets Thank you for saving his life
Awww 😭😭😭😭😭😭 so sad to see scotty so helpless, my son is just teary watching scotty....soo happy he recovered ❤
Happy End , no Happy beginning, thanks to Lisa and David.
