Jesus, at 5:00 you can tell that Dr. Scott has officially started to freak out for real...still the calm professional as always, but the way he snatched that needle from the nurse/assistant he meant life-saving business!! I’ve been in that kind of situation several times, where you need to just quickly get control of whatever it is in order to help someone immediately..So happy Dr. Scott got the precious little man back safe and healthy!
Yep! I saw that too! The three extra seconds the nurse might have taken to finish preparing the dose (eg. pushing out the little bit of extra air she might have gotten into the syringe while drawing the medication out of the vial, inspecting the syringe to double check the dose is exact) could in this case could have meant the difference between life and death for Biggie. She wasn’t being slow, she was just going through the normal, careful steps that she’s trained to do. But Scott could literally feel Biggie’s life fading away under his hands, and made the call that a tiny bit of air or a dose that was off by a fraction, in this instance, were far less of a risk than waiting would have been.
@@s_rofbear she was also removing air from the needle, else she risk killing the dog from an embolism. But you can def see the panic in his face, that one probably shaved a few years off his life.
Doug's story hit too close to home. I volunteer with a local rescue, and last year was asked to take in a palliative case. Nolan was the sweetest Goldie I've ever met, a beautiful gentle giant. He'd been abandoned by his owners because of his age and health. His hips were so bad, he could barely stand by himself. Like Doug, he loved his walks, and would even run around for a few moments. But gradually, the short walks got shorter and shorter. He would spend most of his days laying on the kitchen floor, even though I had several beds for him. And one day, three months after he came into my life, he no longer could stand. The difficult decision was made, and I sat by him giving him love and reassurance as he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. That night, he came back to me in a dream, where we played fetch and ran together. He thanked me and told me he wished he could have done this with me while he was still alive. RIP Nolan, I'm glad to have been able to be part of your life, even if it was for such a short time.
This made me tear up. Even though this happened a year ago, I'm so sorry for your loss. Whatever amount of time he had with you, I'm sure he loved every minute of it.
WindyHawk Nolan didn't even remember his past all he knew was your love and the new life you gave him he left this world only knowing love and happiness trust and know that
and however short time it seems to us to a rescued dog like Doug and Nolan its a lifetime of love and happy life because I hope and believe that God erases whatever happened before from their minds and they only remember those that love him
I lost my golden retriever last year. He was the sweetest and most gentle boy, and when he passed away it broke me. Golden retrievers have the most gorgeous and loving natures, and it makes me so angry to see the mistreatment of a dog whose default setting is unconditional love.
I agree. How could anyone treat a golden retriever like that. They are the sweetest breed of dog and it hurts my heart to think he endured that household for so long.

I have never seen such a chill chi like Biggie, so glad everything went ok. Doug is living his best life now thanks to such wonderful adopters, the people who had him before don't even deserve to be in charge of a freaking gold fish, let alone another pet or a child, smdh.
I have a chi mix and he is the sweetest boy ever. They just need boundaries and discipline like other dogs. The problem is they're so cute, most get away with murder.
It's beyond my comprehension, that anybody could do such a thing to a dog. They clearly never loved poor Doug right from the beginning. Incidentally, Gold fish have now been corrupted by inbreeding & the desire to make them more exotic. They are now incredibly difficult to keep & require an unbelievable amount of care in order to keep them healthy. Humans eh? can't leave a damn thing alone.
I have two chis, they are like Biggie at the vet, but many people like you often say "omg, they are so well behaved." As a result, I'm convinced it comes down to training and discipline. I discipline my dogs when they misbehave, I don't just sit there laughing or, god forbid, do things that would encourage them to be angry. I also have that feeling that well behaved chis dont make good TV

Even with the happy ending for the Golden, it still breaks my heart that anyone could neglect such a gentle, loving dog just because he's old and "doesn't match the decor." I hope when his former owners get old, that they are treated just as callously by the ones they love.
Not caring for a pet 'anymore' and hiding it away to suffer alone after years and years of living with it... that's psychologically really concerning to me. That's not human, is it?
For people who solely think of the dog as a tool, a toy, or a decoration it makes perfect sense to throw it away when it's not fulfilling its purpose. The problem is that they never treated the dog as a living thing.
Hearing doug's story made me so angry. "He does not fit with the asthetic of our house." Dogs are not a lamp that can sit there and be pretty! If you want something to decorate your home get some paintings, a lamp or a coffee table don't get an animal! So glad Doug is in a better home where he is going to get the love and the care he deserves!
Biggie has to be the most relaxed chihuahua I've seen. Usually the ones I see bark and snap and run around like crazy. Biggie is just like hold me, give me attention, and I'm good to go.
It is amazing how much love and affection can transform an animal. They need it as much as they need food and shelter. Camino/Doug had the bare essentials and was wasting away. Just looking at his attitude and even physical appearance improved in his new home just brings tears to my eyes.
Looks like Doug and all members of his new family match the furniture just fine. Happy and Unconditional Love are the best decor of all! Good job staying calm with Biggie. My heart skipped a beat, for sure. What a fun duo Biggie and his dude make.

Doug's new owners are so lovely. Bless them for taking in these old dogs and giving them a lovely new home for the last (and hopefully best) years of their lives. I hope his old owners see how happy he is now, and feel ashamed for how they treated him.
The fact that people get animals “pets” and do not take care of them pisses me off!! Dont take an animal into your posession “home”’if you are not going to take care of them! That is so unnecessary and unfair to that animal “pet” That story made my blood boil! They didn’t want the dog because it didn’t fit into the decor 🤯🤬 Awwwwwe Doug!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh Doug, he's just a perfect dog. I really felt this one since I grew up with a white Golden Retriever named Watson who was the light of our family and lived until 15. He did have to stay in the basement in the last year so that he wouldn't need the stairs to get to the yard because he could no longer do them but he was always with us and always loved, we never would have abandoned or hid him because he "didn't match our decor" that's absurd.
That Biggie is EVERYTHING! He’s quite calm for a chihuahua. All the chihuahua’s I’ve known are strictly one person dogs and aren’t as chill as Biggie! It makes me SO damn mad that people who owned Doug before, had the means to care for him but it was too “inconvenient”! I’m an RN for people and we had a patient like Doug (in human form) and the patients daughters didn’t want their mom to live with ANY of the 3 daughters after her stroke. She was in her 80’s on the dance floor (extremely independent lady) when she had her stroke. Because the daughters were just like Doug’s owners, she just willed herself to die! And she did! I love this show!!! It shows how vital it is to have a “fur baby” in our lives to love & care for us as we do them (and the Vet & staff do as well)! I think this show demonstrates how many people care in the world for those animals big or small that makes our hearts 10x’s bigger! ❤️🐶 🐱❤️
Dogs= Love. I know that people can be and more often prove that they are selfish, and yes, truly evil. So happy to see Doug will spend his 'golden' years in a caring, loving home...❤️ Quite a scare with Biggie's reaction to anesthesia... can't take anything for granted...
I'm a Mexican-American, and "Camino" means "Route", "Walking Trail", and/or "Path". I would have some other words to the previous owners for the way that he took care of him. I'm beyond happy that Doug found a family that loves him and with a pack of welcoming dogs. We don't deserve the love of pets because they are always open to forgive and forget.
Glad they took Doug he is a beautiful dog and there was no reason to do what they did to him..Makes me sick,, Thank you all for stepping up and saving him . I truly felt Dr.Scotts stress level When it came to the surgery I felt so bad for him.. You know it cannot be a easy job. So God Bless You Doctor Scott for doing what you do even though its not always that easy..Hugs&prayers Dear Mate..
Biggie is very lucky that Scott was there with him. Scott gives 1000% and reviving Biggie was no exception. So happy he is back with his dad! And Doug, that was just a pitiful case. Someone that could treat a dog in such a vile manner does not deserve to have any pets. There truly is a special place in Hades for people like that. And even with all he went through, Doug is amazing! He gives so much love when clearly he didn't get much love or care from his previous owners. I'm so happy he is in a home where he knows he is loved. I adore the Lockdown Vet series. Thanks for caring for all animals great and small 💗

Oh that story made me.cry at the end. Thank you for giving Nolan the best last bit of his life. You are amazing.
WindyHawk Nolan didn't even remember his past all he knew was your love and the new life you gave him he left this world only knowing love and happiness trust and know that
and however short time it seems to us to a rescued dog like Doug and Nolan its a lifetime of love and happy life because I hope and believe that God erases whatever happened before from their minds and they only remember those that love him
I know it was hard to loose Nolan just the same.God bless you both.
I lost my golden retriever last year. He was the sweetest and most gentle boy, and when he passed away it broke me. Golden retrievers have the most gorgeous and loving natures, and it makes me so angry to see the mistreatment of a dog whose default setting is unconditional love.
We're so sorry to hear that 💙 He sounds like he'll be dearly missed.
I agree. How could anyone treat a golden retriever like that. They are the sweetest breed of dog and it hurts my heart to think he endured that household for so long.

same with pitties actually.

I have 3 chis and they're chill.
That poor Golden. What terrible people his owners are to treat a loyal and sweet animal like that. It makes my blood boil, too.
My chocolate lab lived till 17. That’s when we had to make the decision
@@lindadarnell4088 That is ancient for a Lab! You must have taken such good care of him. Our standard Yorkie will be 14 on August 15, and our other rescue, a Silky Terrier, came to us without a single tooth in his mouth (talk about neglect!), so we're not sure how old he is. We lost our other Silky last September at the age of 15 1/2. I hope that karma's gonna get Doug's former owners.

I rescued an elderly dog in much the same situation as Doug. He was going blind and deaf. I can't begin to describe my admiration for surgeons who keep their composure whilst hearing a heartbeat fade.
Whether it's a human or animal there is always a risk of complications when dealing with anesthesia.
Just all the respect.
Haha, he wasn't keeping his composure very well...he snatched that needle from the nurse he was in a full blown panic. I'm willing to be he earned a few grey hairs for that one!
Doug's life went from a horror movie to a wonderful fairytale, complete with a happy ending! Thank goodness for people like them that can open their hearts to older dogs and love them until it is their time to go.

I rescued a 2 week old litter of 5 from the floorboard of an old car at Animal Control where they were destined for death. ½ miniature pinscher ½ miniature terrier. One was a cross eyed cryptorchid (one descended testicle), and had an underbite, snored and some sleep apnea. He has the BEST NOSE of any dog I have ever worked with. So, I had the undescended testicle removed to minimize cancer risk and a vasectomy on the second testicle to preserve his testosterone for working. He is amazing! Poor Camino. Those previous owners are a real POS . 🤬🤬🤬 Thank you for those ppl who adopted him. He looks amazing and beyond happy. 🥰🥰🥰
I have a very loved little ferret with a big tumor in his chest and his blood work was inconclusive and now he needs more tests and we know it could be very very bad. So here I am at 3am sobbing my eyes out realizing exactly why my vet is working so hard to avoid anesthetic. A good vet is like a living saint, the day to day miracles they perform, and the great personal cost when things don't go right. They will forever have my gratitude and awe.
I hate it when the surgery is blocked out. I find seeing what goes on fascinating and will others. Others are possibly future Veterinarians.
Unfortunately they blur it out because of TH-cam. If they show surgery, even for educational purposes the video gets demonitized.
@@AcidSugar_ they don’t get monetized in the first place. They make their money when it’s aired on tv and the TH-cam videos are for the people that don’t have tv/wanna rewatch.
Plus they’d never get monetized anyways because it shows death, blood and even if they don’t show internal organs it shows raw flesh.
@@splitdragon3004 well I have no idea if videos are monetized or no bc I have a cracked version of TH-cam but I thought lockdown vet was TH-cam exclusive? Maybe I heard it wrong then
@@AcidSugar_ : I get it although when watching Dr. pole, he shows the procedures. And, when I stop and think about it, there are a lot of medical operations that show all the detail. I guess when you make as much as a doctor, you are not in it for TH-cam money.
@@jroar123 I do remember watching Dr. Pol on YT but his videos are older than Bondi vet. In more recent years TH-cam has been cracking down on their policies, especially with blood involved. And considering how much content is uploaded to TH-cam every hour it's hard/ makes no sense to comb through old videos to make sure they're up to snuff, so to speak. So it's more likely older videos will not be effected but newer ones definitely will. Although I'm no expert so there could also be other reasons why.
The look on the dogs face as your handling his bits... 😂
I think they’re an adorable couple , a rough tough gent with his so very cute chihuahua. Just adorable 😊🥰

My motorcycle riding Chihuahua is the Best!!!!! He has my heart!!!!
doug can have my entire heart for free. i'm so happy things turned around for that old goodest boi
Even with the happy ending for the Golden, it still breaks my heart that anyone could neglect such a gentle, loving dog just because he's old and "doesn't match the decor." I hope when his former owners get old, that they are treated just as callously by the ones they love.
I couldn’t believe how great Doug looked when Scott did a follow up home visit just amazing and Doug was happy as well u could tell in his face
Not caring for a pet 'anymore' and hiding it away to suffer alone after years and years of living with it... that's psychologically really concerning to me. That's not human, is it?
I don't think so. These morons no longer belong in the human race as far as I'm concerned. I'd love to dump them somewhere & throw away the key...
Sadly, I think it's all too human...
it's definitely something else, they're not normal healthy adjusted people for sure
For people who solely think of the dog as a tool, a toy, or a decoration it makes perfect sense to throw it away when it's not fulfilling its purpose. The problem is that they never treated the dog as a living thing.
It's sick and absolutely diabolical
Hearing doug's story made me so angry. "He does not fit with the asthetic of our house." Dogs are not a lamp that can sit there and be pretty! If you want something to decorate your home get some paintings, a lamp or a coffee table don't get an animal! So glad Doug is in a better home where he is going to get the love and the care he deserves!
Exactly. Pets are family. He's a narcissist who wants a fashionable accessory, not a pet.
Doug just has me crying. What an angel of a dog. So glad he can live out his years happy now. 😭
Biggie has to be the most relaxed chihuahua I've seen. Usually the ones I see bark and snap and run around like crazy. Biggie is just like hold me, give me attention, and I'm good to go.
He came back in mostly one piece
I love this version of Bondi Vet. Scott is the best!
I just love Scott. He is so genuine and caring.
It is amazing how much love and affection can transform an animal. They need it as much as they need food and shelter. Camino/Doug had the bare essentials and was wasting away. Just looking at his attitude and even physical appearance improved in his new home just brings tears to my eyes.
Absolutely ❤️ Beautifully Said, Sandy. 💗
Looks like Doug and all members of his new family match the furniture just fine. Happy and Unconditional Love are the best decor of all!
Good job staying calm with Biggie. My heart skipped a beat, for sure. What a fun duo Biggie and his dude make.
How heart warming to see that young couple adopt an old dog out of such kindness .

I can never say enough good things about Dr Scott. He is an excellent vet. Loves all animals.
I'm glad Doug found a good family who will look after him and give him love and attention
Anyone who can adopt elderly dog is a selfless saint. I couldn't handle the grief of losing them so soon, or of watching them fail, or making the decision to put them down. That young couple (edit: family...they're siblings) who adopted "Camino"/Doug are amazing.
So cute 🤧 I adore this show. Though they prioritize the lives of their patients, they always try to ensure that the owner and the animal are both happy during the process.
Good on them 👏
Eek! my heart skipped a beat when his heart stopped 😬

Not to be a bummer, but watching Bondi Vet and Bondi Rescue have been invaluable to me since Sept 1, 2021. I lost one of my twin sons that day, and these are some of the few things I can watch and not have my head still working on back burners in my head, which are all grieving hard.
Thx 4 helping Doug. He is simply beautiful
Dogs= Love.
I know that people can be and more often prove that they are selfish, and yes, truly evil.
So happy to see Doug will spend his 'golden' years in a caring, loving home...❤️
Quite a scare with Biggie's reaction to anesthesia... can't take anything for granted...

So glad Doug got adopted by a wonderful family that truly loves him. Dr Scott is an excellent vet
Loving to watch Scott he is so loving intelligence just a special soul great episode blessings bondi vet.
