The black is way better and the sound is superb!!! I'm sold I was inches from getting a RoadKing special and my neighbor had the K1600B with the Remus exhaust and said take it out wow it blew me away!!!
I am sold. I don't have the bike yet, but have noted these as the upgrade option. Coming from Harley and V&H, it's essential to have noise, you can't assume drivers know what the !~#$ they are doing. most don't and it's like one big golf course out there for many of them.
100% agree these look so much better and sound super nice. No matter which way go, with or without it sounds exotic. But indeed the drone would get old. Baffles in is the way to go. Nice.
I'd have to agree with you about taking the baffles out. If I do wind up getting a 2023 GTL K1600, first two things I'll do is a stage 1 or 2 flash tune and Remus exhaust. Not that I have a death wish. I just like the raw burst of power from 20 to 30 mph to 80.
My dealer just installed these for another customer. They have a really throaty sound that would make a Harley driver jealous. I can say that as I’ve got a softail that doesn’t sound that good. This video really doesn’t Sontheim justice. It gives the B a sound like a muscle car with straight pipes. I love the sound but an afraid to ask the price.
Great sound! I like the idle & rev w/o DB killers but I’m sure you’re right about drone at speed. I used to have the best sounding straight shot pipes on a Harley during take off, but no one would ride behind me & it was so obnoxious cruising at highway.
Russell the bike sounds great. Looking forward to getting my Remus exhaust installed over the winter months here in Canada. A question for you though......how did you mount your guardian bell in that location on the bottom / rear of your saddlebag?
Best description I’ve heard is it pulls like a locomotive. Lol. I’ve got a Street Bob That May get traded for a K1600 at the end of the season. I like the riding position of the GT but like the lower position on the B. I don’t Need to flat foot but don’t like to reach for the ground. Mentally I keep thinking Baggers are for old guys but I must be getting up there as the K1600B really calls to me. I’d like the blue model as it doesn’t look as much a bagger. Lol lol.
I have removed the screws and have even drilled out where the screws go with a very thin drillbit and I have tried to wedge a crowbar down the shaft to try to pull out the DB killer but it won’t come out on any of the four pipes thanks If only I could find a tool that would be reverse of a clamp spring loaded or tension loaded that I could put in Finley and then it would spring and clamp to the sides of the pipe so I could pull out the DB killer
I've been looking at these for a couple of weeks. Cruising TH-cam for sound comparisons. I keep running into them popping like hell on the deceleration. Is that always like that? Or just when the DB killers are out? I love the looks. like a million bucks, but I couldn't stand listening to the popping. That would drive me freaking crazy!! Does it do this, with the baffles in? If not, I think I just found my new pipes. If so, I guess I'll keep looking. Going into a 2020 K1600B Grand America. But bikes are my primary transportation most of the year, and as a retiree, I ride a solid 35k a year tour riding. Pop pop pop no way. Please help!! Thanks weldmandingo! Bob in Germany
The popping is programed in to the ECU of the bike when the throttle is in dynamic mode and has nothing to do with the exhaust. It even does it with the stock exhaust but its less noticable because of the quiet nature of the factory pipes. It will happen with any exhaust you fit it with unless you keep it rain or road mode.
I would like to know this as well. I am interested in the bike, but only because of its engine configuration. I would only want to buy this buy this bike is there is any kind of after market open exhaust available.

Seriously? It's better sounding that a Harley?

Great video. Nice and clear, to the point and no BS. Great job man!
Totally agree about the baffles. I much prefer to have mine in. Without the baffles it is more noise than symphony. Ride safe!

Sound and look a million times better than stock.👍👍
Good job,I have the remus on my k1600b.I like em out ,but what a motorcycle! Enjoy

Very cool.....i dont ride anymore but enjoyed ur video!

They sound great ... I would like to hear them outside in the open without walls and ceilings
Is this a full system with headers, or just the slipon mufflers? Sound great!
Outstanding video! Thank you
Fuggin sounds good
Did you do a run with the db killers out only on 2 pipes not all 4? Just to see how the drone at speed changes?
Nice bike and exhaust!!!
Very cool!!! Good afternoon, tell me, did you install only the rear exhaust on the bagger, or did you replace the manifold too? Boris/ Minsk
Man I wanted that! Where can you find them at? I brought a slip on and absolutely no difference 😊
Thanks for the demo, did you notice any change in the bikes performance ? (Western Australia)
i like both

sweet thanks for sharing!
Need higher rpm in the throttle. Take it for a spin also.
Is that just the slip ons or is that the full system with headers? Sound great either way!
just slipons. Full system voids the warranty and you need to get the ecu reflashed
Nice bike 👍🏼😎
Can you explain how you got out the DB KILLER. I have them but can’t get them out.
Or pass along a link to how to get them out. Thanks
Remove the 2 screws and then they slide out might take a little bit of tapping or effort to get them to break free if they’ve been in for a while
@@weldmandingo Effort is an understatement, I've tried and tried to get mine out.
@@jeromemoore882 You’re working on a Remus exhaust correct
gotta be honest i was hoping it would sound like a CBX on straight pipes ;-)
Sounds like FJR1300 with 2 bros at idle
are you able to add and remove the baffles when you want ?

@@weldmandingo i have k1600 GA 2022, remus without DB killer. I can say both in road and dynamic mode I can notice the pops
Slip On or full?
I'd like to hear it on the highway.
Real top speed on it is?
How difficult is it to remove the DB killers?
I would like to know this as well. I am interested in the bike, but only because of its engine configuration. I would only want to buy this buy this bike is there is any kind of after market open exhaust available.
4 mufflers? Does anyone make a full system with 2 or even 1 muffler?
Freedom Exhaust has a single sided exhaust. Sounds good as well but they leave a big ugly ass gap under the bags.
Just do half of the db killers split the dif brutha
good idea!
@@weldmandingo I see most doing that so you get the best of both my brutha
