Joker's is more consistent as any two-handed backhand would be, but Stan's is certainly a bigger weapon. Joker's backhand is excellent, but what makes it better than any other two-hander is not the backhand itself but his superior speed, footwork and body position that allows him to get into the proper hitting position more frequently than any other player on tour. Given a choice between the two I'd take Stan's any day...that kind of precision and power on what is considered the weaker groundstroke is unique. Even the backhands of Thiem and Gasquet can't quite match Stan's.
comparing a two handed with a one handed backhand is so difficult, for me Wawrinka has the best one handed backhand while the best two handed backhand of all time belongs to Nalbandian
Peak Wawrinka for me was the best player to ever lay hands of a tennis racket! He had everything! A very conconsistent, strong forehand, a absolute laser of a backhand, good serve, good volleys, touch shots...this all combined with the endurance of a working mule and the mental game of a stone statue. This guy didnt even flinch in the 5th when being down. Sending in extreme rockets one after the other. And one thing is for sure. The longer the match went, the more he started to power up! Normally in the 5th nobody was able to withstand his endurance and power. Not without a reason he earned the title 'marathon man'. ❤ Truly a specimen of the sport🎉
**Peak Wawrinka for me was the best player to ever lay hands of a tennis racket** He was never world #1 so unless his peak was really short (like a few weeks) that's a hot takes
In addition to that epic mind-blowing backhand, anyone who can overpower Nole at Grand Slam finals -- has my everlasting admiration. Also, his footwork and touch are underrated. Love watching this guy play big matches.
right the first point - has any other player in history of tennis played better? You have mr. perfect playing against Stan here and still getting destroyed by sheer brutality and precision. I miss this Stan today, let's hope he can still get back his form
Brutal was exactly the word I had in mind when I watching those last 2 backhands. I dont think theres another player who was capable of making the big 3 "give up" on rallies as much as Wawrinka was able to.
Wawarika is complete player with blistering Ground strokes & big Service. He peaked in carrier in his late 20s like Pat Rafter. Wawarika deserves to be the category of Great 4 along with Nadal, Novak & Roger. But, The problem with Wawarika is that he is an inconsistent player
Stan the Man destroyed Nadal and Joker in Slam Finals. Also has a 100% record 3/3 in Slam Finals. I think he would have won many more titles had Roger not been there as Stan psychologically found it very difficult to be in Roger’s shadow.
Who has a better backhand?
Wawrinka or Djokovic?

If only Federer had this in his arsenal
@@verlith30 he had it in 2017, but not the other seasons unfortunately.
Wawrinka, no discussion
