You will need...
Vase
Flowers, real or faux.
Scissors
Stones, peebles, glass stones.
Flower frog or large washer with fishing line.

I loved the idea of using a washer to anchor the flowers. I inserted the flower stem through the washer and ran a stick pin through the stem at the bottom. That was much easier than using thread to tie the flower to the washer. It held beautifully and was covered up nicely by the beads! Thank you for the suggestion!

That is really expensive looking, smashing! I was wondering if you could do it with a fake rose do you think? or actually any fake flowers or even foliage? has anyone tried this, i'd be interested to know.
You can do this with fauxflowers aswell. I have done it the past. X

I have rose heads that are incredibly buoyant. Any ideas
I'm an expert in this area. But I read that if you pour the water over the head itself, that's what helps it to stay in the water. Hope that helps. X
