re: the hot races. in wec endurance racing theres a rule where the cockpit temperature may not exceed 90F or the car will be parked to get their ac repaired. Prototypes have to have ac to maintain the temperature limit. 90F is pretty "low"but this is mainly a concern because some races are 24h with 6 hour race stints
@@WillowCreative noone does a 6 hr stint. Thats not even legal. The max i think is around 3 hrs per stint. Maybe a little more based on how some drivers will do a quad stint at le mans with 45 minute fuel runs. 45 mins × 4 is 3 hrs. Maybe like 3 hrs 15 mins or something. Ive never heard of anyone doing more than 4 at a time and even that is rare. And they are absolutely wiped out after 3 hours
As far as the heat goes.....I remember hearing that Bobby Allison used to train by driving around an Alabama summer with the windows closed tight and the heater on full blast....

Honestly, the whole reason we stopped going to joliet was because its too damn hot & humid there in july. I live close and ive never been able to deal with it. Then they put in lights, ran in september and it got down to like 40 lol. Ppl thought we were nuts bringing blankets in earlier in the day 😂 i think the merch guys had a great night for blankets and jackets that night lol.

Would you prefer NASCAR to make a snap judgement call with possibly incomplete or opinionated information and possibly make the incorrect call, or would you prefer them to take their time and weigh all the information and facts and then levy penalties as necessary?

It's pretty obvious to me that NBC strong-armed NASCAR into putting this race to the mid afternoon because they prioritized the Olympic Trials.

Denny simply despises when a the public perception and discussions are about another driver being better then him. In fact, this is exactly when the “rivalry” began with the 5. Denny just came off a massive loosing streak and Larson was constantly being labeled and duly crowned the best driver not only in the series but racing in general by the Fans, pundits, reporters, team owners, the drivers across all forms of Motorsports and even Dennys own crew chief. This is exactly when Denny started to directly challenge Larson. He broke his extremely long loosing streak, not buy racing the 5 clean/ head to head, but by playing tough and catching the 5 off guard. He couldn’t no did he do it straight up. He just started to become competitive in the next gen car (thanks to Gabehart) and immediately stared to display his frustrations with the 5. There’s even a massive difference between the way Larson and Denny spoke about the incidents. Kyle was more neutral, honest, accountable and rational with his statements while Denny was arrogant, critical, on the attack and began directly pushing a strategic narrative/ campaign with his platform that the 5 is an over aggressive and out of control driver. He repeatedly claimed the 5 was out of control multiple times, over stated the 5’s attempts to run him and repeatedly made claims that the 5 drives everyone that way while continually referencing the KB incident. The difference between the 5 and 11 besides the 5 having notably grater and more universal, natural talent is that the 5 typically accepts blame for his mistakes and indiscretions while the 11 never accepts accountability, displays humility, or acknowledges fault. He always, ALWAYS blames another driver, luck, the car or the team. That’s not opinion, that’s fact which can be substantiated by all Dennys interviews throughout his career. Denny holds himself in an over abundant and artificial sense of superiority with an alternative (self made) interpretation of what has helped to establish his professional success. He did it all himself from rags to riches with no assistance, luck, opportunity, privilege, or team advantages. Every failure was a result of something beyond his control, every incident, wreck or controversy was another drivers fault or incompetency. The fans don’t give him a fair chance and his hatred is even associated by the fault of others or popularity of others. These traits lack integrity. These traits have contributed to his failure to secure a championship by now. He would have hundreds of more wins if just history would have been different who’s failing to comprehend that the same would be true for other drivers, thus taking away wins he did earn. Other people would bury him in the record books if they also had due overs thanks to a Time Machine. Dennys not controversial due to natural talent or because he “tells it like it is” he’s unpopular because of his false sense of superiority, arrogance and inability to recognize his own personal and professional privilege.

Not a total fan but isn't that what NASCAR did a couple weeks ago. Some cars stayed out while others pitted then a rain delay then the cars that stayed out were allowed to get fuel and keep their same spots on the grid. How is that okay?

AM Racing is just trying to make sure they're in the race with 40+ cars trying to qualify for the event. Deegan's qualifying attempts at the 3 road courses this season has been 35th or worse
putting a cap on overtime attempts is just dumb to me, lets say in theory they go back to a max of 3, we can then have a situation where waste a bunch of time cleaning up 2-3 wrecks, and then still end under caution anyway, the whole point is to get a green flag finish. If we must put a limit on it, make it only 1 so we don't spend 30+ minutes crashing just to end it under yellow anyway.
You know what's worse than not finishing the race under green racing conditions? Not being able to watch the finish because the TV program changed. The concept of 5 overtimes, anything over 2 makes outsiders ask wtf is going on with your sport. Unlimited overtime - lol. Every single car incident during an overtime that causes another is just buffoonery.
Remember when they penalized Dale a ridiculous amount of championship points for swearing on TV? That’s was WILD! Looking back I’m shocked there wasn’t more of an uprising from fans there.

24hr races are boring for fans. Nothing in nascar should resemble a 24hr race except the checkered flag

Not a total fan but isn't that what NASCAR did a couple weeks ago. Some cars stayed out while others pitted then a rain delay then the cars that stayed out were allowed to get fuel and keep their same spots on the grid. How is that okay?

AM Racing is just trying to make sure they're in the race with 40+ cars trying to qualify for the event. Deegan's qualifying attempts at the 3 road courses this season has been 35th or worse
putting a cap on overtime attempts is just dumb to me, lets say in theory they go back to a max of 3, we can then have a situation where waste a bunch of time cleaning up 2-3 wrecks, and then still end under caution anyway, the whole point is to get a green flag finish.
If we must put a limit on it, make it only 1 so we don't spend 30+ minutes crashing just to end it under yellow anyway.
You know what's worse than not finishing the race under green racing conditions? Not being able to watch the finish because the TV program changed.
The concept of 5 overtimes, anything over 2 makes outsiders ask wtf is going on with your sport. Unlimited overtime - lol.
